It's 25 years since the release of 'Where the Wild Roses Grow'. An unlikely collaboration, Nick Cave actually wrote the song with Kylie in mind. The song is a dialogue between a killer and his victim, who Kylie and Nick characterise with her delicate vocal and his gravely tone as they recall the series of events from their own perspectives. This sinister ballad was met with strong critical acclaim and rewarded with success across Europe and Australia - it debuted at #2 in the latter, was certified Gold and awarded three ARIAs, including Single of the Year.

25 years on, what are your thoughts and memories?

A superb murder ballad and provided Nick Cave with his biggest hit, how apt for Kylie to be part of it.
This sold really well in Germany.

It done well enough in the uk considering the success of the 4 singles before it plus here in ireland it was great to see kylie finally back in the charts again and especially in the top 10.

It's not one I return to much but I do appreciate what a great song it is. I love the storytelling and how Kylie and Nick contrasting vocals compliment each other. You can tell Kylie has huge love for the song and it makes me happy to know how much respect Nick has for Kylie too given their differing musical backgrounds.

Nick has so much respect for Kylie and it came as a surprise to many, i think Nick just took to kylie and saw what a worker she is and together they delivered one hell of a song.

Where the Wild Roses Grow was Kylie's masterclass for self learning.
