01. Skippin A Beat

02. Wanna Be Your Baby

On first listen 'Skippin A Beat' may actually be her worst song for me oops, the beat is just annoying and I'm not sure I ever got past that tbh laugh.gif Brilliant start to the listen through xo 'Wanna Be Your Baby' is lushhh, loving the 80s vibe throughout *.*

This'll be throughout the week and maybe a bit after that depending on how many people are interested in it!

I like "Skipping a Beat" on first listen. It feels like it should have a stronger chorus and the production is a little bit annoying but that's what makes most of Zara's songs unique.
"Wanna Be Your Baby" is a lot more pop which I like, you can tell her vocals aren't as strong at this point but the hook is strong and catchy.

Before I provide commentary on each 1 commentary one by one and provide an overall analysis of the album, lets all mourn that 'Love Again' never made the debut album.

01 | Wanna Be Your Baby
02 | Skippin A Beat

Skippin A Beat's weird noise throughout has always bugged me. I don't go back to it at all. Wanna Be Your Baby is just a little bit of a bop. I feel like if she recorded it now the chorus would be a proper vocal powerhouse.

'Skippin A Beat' noise throughout the song really is rather, the chorus itself is rather disappointing though and I think the song itself is rather forgettable and it's not the best album opener and it's not the best way to set the tone of the album. 'What They Say' is a ten times stronger album opener and I still think 'What They Say' is very underrated.

It's incredible how far her voice has progressed, she's still a powerhouse but you can tell how more mature her voice has got over time, I actually really like 'Wanna Be Your Baby', I absolutely adore the bridge and chorus. I wish it never ended so abruptly on 'Wanna Be Your Baby' during the chorus though, 'Wanna Be Your Baby' is an absolute bop though.

Only my second listen of the album after hearing it for the first time a couple of months ago.

Skippin A Beat // I think without that weird production noise it would be so much better but it really brings the song down a lot.

Wanna Be Your Baby // I love the production on this. Lyrically it is great too especially in the chorus. I just wish she goes for it more vocally.

Skippin a Beat - sounds okay, who's that fella being strangled in the background though.
Wanna Be Your Baby - a decent song, nice beat, nothing amazing though.

I actually adore 'Rooftop' and think it would fit onto 'So Good'. The song itself is such a chilled laidback song and I can't help but love the lyric "It was the fourth of the September". I believe 'Rooftop' was a good single choice but I just think it's a nice album track for something like 'So Good'.

'Never Gonna Die' is an absolute bop to, I do love Zara's tone in this and it's actually an incredible relatable song, I love the different elements song this has too, it's a bit r&b and probz would have been a better single choice than 'So Good'.

Rooftop - decent enough, sounds like something I might have paid attention to a couple of years ago but it seems very average now.

Never Gonna Die - really sounds like a grower, a nice change of style for her.

05. Carry You Home

06. Can't Hold Back

We all know that 'Carry You Home' is a massive bop but listening to it makes me realise it doesn't really work well as a single either? It's just an incredibly strong album track (if that makes any sense)

'Can't Hold Back' is decent but it doesn't go anywhere in my honest opinion, it's just a nice track to have on in the background.

CYH is really a 10/10 moment
CHB is actually pretty good, a bit more production and it could be a festival song

Rooftop // A Proper banger I love the production in this one of her best productions for me wub.gif
Never Gonna Die // It is quite good but some of the drops are annoying if I am honest. I love the lyrics.
Carry You Home // I love how this song builds especially how it goes from the bridge into the chorus. What a vocal performance too heart.gif
Can't Hold Back // Quite like this tbh I think it could be underrated on the album because I love the lyrics and her vocals in the 'OHHHH's' in the chorus.
