I thought that was fine, they didn't need to be shown on screen and Catherine bringing down all three of main the culprits in the series in her final police station scene.
Overall it was another great series, some superb acting, feels like Rhys Connah could go on to be a star. |

That final confrontation between Tommy and Catherine... wow I'm just stunned at how fantastic it was. I was so impressed I watched the episode again on Monday and rewatched the confrontation scene for a third time today. Obviously, hats off to Sarah Lancashire and James Norton for their incredible acting, but the dialogue and the pacing of the scene was spot on too. I really love that we delved into each character, so many layers and emotions uncovered. Such a satisfying ending which is actually not that common in TV dramas.
I did find it a little odd that the stories with Faisal and Rob were just wrapped up in the final few minutes through a conversation (the "btw the games teacher is a nonce" thing was very where-the-f***-did-that-come-from?) but upon reflection I didn't really care, they were just plots to carry the series and it was Catherine/Tommy's story that I was really here for. Maybe they could have wrapped these stories up in Episode 5 though. |
