The terrorist state of Belarus has this afternoon forcibly hijacked a Ryanair flight by faking a bomb threat and then sending war planes to prevent it leaving Belarusian airspace to divert to Minsk (the plane was *minutes* from landing in Vilnius which at all point was a closer airport than Minsk and where it should have landed in an emergency such as a bomb threat - just incase you thought it might be real threat and not 170+ EU nationals being kidnapped) all so they could arrest a journalist who now faces being murdered by the dictator for the crime of *checks notes* accurately reporting what he’s doing to his own citizens

And still there are Tory MPs who want to end Belarus's status as the only European country not signed up to the European Convention on Human Rights by withdrawing from it and joining them.

This is disgraceful, how can this possibly happen in an otherwise generally very well-developed and democratic continent like Europe?! :/ (discounting Russia) I mean I'm not an expert so I don't know how easy it would be to sanction Belarus and how much power they hold, I knoe Lukashenko's blatantly rigged elections before but how can he possibly go on after this, this is literal terrorism...
