I'd love for her to be nominted but I could not see it happening. She is probably not 'cool' enough for them anymore.

She deserves an International Female nomination but I could see them snubbing her too. I reckon they might invite her to present an award though.

There are new rules regarding the eligibility for the British awards at the BRITs:

QUOTE
Artists will now have to meet one of three criteria to be eligible:

1 They were born in the UK.
2 They are a UK passport holder (this includes those that hold more than one passport).
3 They have been permanently resident in the UK for more than five years.

Could this mean that Kylie could be nominated for British Female rather than International Female?

Hm, that's an interesting one indeed! I never thought about this when I read about it this morning (Go Rina Sawayama wub.gif), but obviously Kylie has been a resident in the UK for way longer than five years know, so technically I would say yes?

I'm not sure her label would submit her for it though, as like Liam said in the other thread she considers herself Australian

I think Kylie is a strong contender for Outstanding Contribution if they bring it back (which they need to seriously it’s the best award). If Pink got one as a non British act then Kylie certainly deserves one (and Madonna, Michael Jackson, Cher and a whole host of others).

I said in the other thread that Kylie would probably stand an easier chance at getting nominated for British Female than International Female due to the easier competition, but I just can't see Kylie or her team putting her forward in that category. It would certainly be strange to see her nominated in the British category after two wins in International!

I agree i think she would be in with a good chance but im also not sure if the Brits Academy are fans of Kylie as outside the Fever era she was often overlooked.

She has always identified herself as Australian, can't really see her being suddenly British just to be nominated for an award?

Ah Kylie would be an iconic choice if this award returned - the amount of bops she could perform

The medley vould do would be brilliant and great opportunity to lift SBIT sales but I wonder will they ever bring the award back.

I doubt she’ll get Brit noms but I am surprised she no longer features In Australia’s ARIA awards. She is such a high profile artist in her homeland compared to those that do get noms. Does she no longer submit herself for competition? Golden felt like awards bait to me.
