Sunday Chart Predictions
Predicting the 12/04 to 18/04 chart
There's a rumour going round that we should all buy 'Jealous'
After winning the fourth series of The Voice UK at the weekend, Stevie McCrorie shocked all by breaking the "no-success-unless-you're-Becky-Hill" curse and going to #1 on iTunes with 'Lost Stars'. However, as she gains on iTunes and has streaming on her side, Jess Glynne is likely to remain officially #1 for a third week with 'Hold My Hand'. Looking to debut within the Top 10 is one third of The Jonas Brothers, Nick, with his first proper single in the UK, 'Jealous', and Pep & Rash with 'Rumors' (annoyingly going with the American spelling!). Kygo and Conrad's 'Firestone' may also creep into the Top 10 this week whilst, further down the chart, Omi's 'Cheerleader' may continue climbing on streams only.
With no particularly big releases this week, the #1 in the albums could go to The Prodigy, James Bay or Sam Smith - or, if only, Sia could be looking at a surprise climb to the top spot. In terms of new entries, likely to make the Top 10 is All Time Low's Future Hearts, whilst Drenge's Undertow, Brian Wilson's No Pier Pressure, East India Youth's Culture of Volume, Nadine Shah's Fast Food and Young Fathers' White Men Are Black Men Too may enter lower down, along with EPs from Jamie T and Flo Rida - the latter releasing on Wednesday.

This is going to be a tough week to call, hoping Jess can get a 3rd week, she probably has more chance of getting there with streams on her side, but will her streams be enough, still waiting on sales for last week which should drop anything soon. With Nick Jonas chasing for the top as well
Prodigy should maintain their lead in the album chart, unless James Bay re-claims it.
Oh... and the Rumor track wording for Pep & Rash is doing my head in.
Really got everything crossed that streaming will help give Jess a 3rd week but we were all convinced Ed would do it last week that I'm preparing myself for a potential Nick Jonas number one (breaking this years run of good number ones, bar Sam though!)
On twitter
And we have confirmation of the #1 single
The Voice winner Stevie McCrorie has taken an early lead on this week's Official Singles Chart.
OfficialCharts.com can reveal that the Scottish firefighter's winner's single Lost Stars is currently Number 1 in today's early sales flash (April 7).
McCrorie's track, which is yet to be made available on streaming services, currently has a lead of 5,000 sales over his closest competitor, but faces strong competition from new releases by Nick Jonas (Jealous) and DJ duo Pep & Rash (Rumors) as well as current leader Hold My Hand by Jess Glynne.

5,000 ahead
5k will be quite easy for one or both of Jess Glynne and Nick Jonas to overtake I think, not that far ahead at all especially when he's falling rapidly on iTunes.
It's only Tuesday and Stevie is dropping hard on iTunes (see Kworb). I think either Jess or Nick will be #1, which is fine by me.
Definitely won't be No.1 then, Jess and Nick will close a 5k gap in 2-3 days easily.
Not really a big fan of the Nick Jonas track, I just hope Jess Glynne can muster another week on top over the rest.
5k is a small lead especially as there are no physicals or streaming - He's promoting all week and was on Heart and Radio 1 today so hopefully he will stabilize and end up Top 3, Something which I didn't think a Voice winner would achieve!
I don't get that Nick Jonas track. Why is it popular? If I was his record company I would've told him to write something else - no way I would've funded this. It's probably good that I don't work in the music industry . Sometimes some very surprising songs become hits...
The Nick Jonas track is awful, so hope that isnt number one.
"Jealous" is pretty great. The Remix with Tinashe is even better.
5k is nothing since it's free-falling at this early stage in the week. Nick will overtake very soon. I still think it'll go Jess 1, Nick 2, though.
That actually is what made it take off in the US tbf But airplay was huge before long, so it was always going to be. I really hope it's #1 too, it was easily in my top 20 of 2014 and revising that I'd easily put it top 10 now. Such a flawless, perfect pop song, especially compared to Jess' disappointment and Stevie's bore.
Stevie would have a chance of holding onto #1 for Sunday if it had a physical equivalent like The X Factor winners song does. The Nick Jonas song is quite catchy but I prefer the Tinashe remix so I'm hoping if anyone is gonna pip Stevie to the post by Sunday, let it be Nick
Nick for #1. I would've expected Stevie to be more than 5k ahead judging by his initial lead on iTunes.
Stevie McCrorie has no chance of #1 then - the lead was made to look a lot larger because of the very low sales at the moment, and of course Nick Jonas' pre-orders were not incorporated. I suspect Jess will get a narrow third week at the top- but it will be very close no doubt.
I would say Jess would probably take it due to weekend sales, but Nick doing Alan Carr on Friday could just grab him that #1.
(he's also on Lorraine on Thursday morning)
Well I for one love 'Jealous', so I wouldn't mind seeing it at #1. I just hope this Voice winner thing doesn't beat it.
I doubt Trouble will peak in the top 40 now after missing the placement in the past week
Nick grabbing a number 1 (even with low sales) would be very welcome for me! He has Alan Carr on Friday so I'm hoping that'll be enough to secure him the number 1!
Personally, if Hold Back The River is a contender, I would like it to get to number one.
Of course Trouble will go top 40, probably top 30 or higher in fact. It's now #70 on Spotify and will almost certainly get at least 2 more weeks on the B list on Radio 1. (hasn't even had a full day on the B-list yet!)
I'm probably the only one who cares, but Grant Nicholas' new EP, 'Black Clouds', is top 30 (according to his Facebook) in the album mids.
Hopefully Jess Glynne can hold on for a third week at #1!
Well I'm far more interested in the album side of things this week seeing if The Prodigy can hold on the top.
I'd be extremely shocked if The Prodigy are still #1, expecting them to drop out of the top 5. All Time Low might be #1 contenders at least in the mids but failing that it'll just be a return to #1 for James Bay (or, God forbid, Sam Smith again).
Yeh Prodigys lowish sales last week will mean it'll be lucky to sell 15k this week IMO!
Sam Smith again or this years equilivant James Bay after his promo last weekend.
Sam Smith is this year's Sam Smith to be honest I'd consider James Bay more George Ezra.
Yeh he should sell really well either way!
Bars & Melody *.*
Urgh Stevie still at #1 he must be hanging on with very few sales though, fully expect him down to the #2 (or lower) by tomorrow.

Stevie looks safe to achieve a top 5 hit now, now matter how much sales slow down.
I can see the Prodigy ending the week at number 5 with Sam Smith moving up to number 4. Good to see Ed Sheeran back above Sam Smith, as it stands they are the front runners for best selling album of the year. While i enjoy some of Sam Smith's work i enjoy Ed Sheeran's more, X album is still such an enjoyable album.
Olly Murs remaining top 30 with Up and Seasons dropping out, i am extremely fond of "up" but it is a big hit already so i would have preferred seasons to be in Up's position.
Jess Glynne was the biggest seller yesterday, by quite a margin over Nick. So I fully expect her to get a third week now. Yesterday's sales were FTR (#1: 25.8K, #2: 21.3K, #3: 14.8K)
Stevie McCrorie looks like he'll end up about #4 or #5 depending on how he holds up.
James Bay will probably take the #1 album by Sunday, has been selling more than the #1 album yesterday.
Top 3 singles I can definitely see that changing, Stevie has no stream sales, Nick 5% stream sales, Jess 21% stream sales, and looking at the top 3, Jess has actually sold 2k more yesterday than the top 2 tracks, with 5.1k for Stevie and 5.9k for Nick - Tues sales.
Pep & Rash not even top 10 in the midweeks which means they'll probably miss the top 15. I just hope their sales hold up well enough to get them a top 20 just so it can be recognised as a hit by Radio 1's definition
I hope Nick Jonas will be the one to pip Stevie McCrorie to the post by Sunday. Wiz Khalifa could have made top 40 for certain if they make the song as one of the songs from the Fast 7 OST available to cherry-pick
I wonder if Will Young even dented the top 100
In other news, the release date for Omi - "Cheerleader" has been pushed forward to 19 April which is good news but the bad news about it is that it may stop Carly Rae Jepsen from getting #1
Should be v close by the looks of it; Nick apparently has 2 promo slots coming up this week so he's got a pretty good chance of #1 now, though Jess seems to have a fairly big streaming advantage so she could still manage it!
See You Again at #59, surely will be made available on iTunes soon?
Wiz Khalifa is NEW at 59 with "See You Again". Not on zero sales, though 86% of the 'chart sales' come from streaming. Wondering if that might make the Top 40 without an iTunes release (it's available on Amazon and a few other online retailers)
When will people stop buying 'X' and 'In the Lonely Hour'?
Nick has 3 promo spots (if you can include the live lounge which usually has little effect)
Jealous will be about #50 on Spotify today, so will manage about 5,000 on streams this week, I'd predict. It'll very close, and largely depends on how well Nick can hold onto #1 on iTunes over the next couple of days, as losing the #1 effect could be quite detrimental.
Any idea if Champagne Kisses is top 200 Liam?
Looks like a third week at #1 for Jess Glynne in singles then. James Bay could probably catch up to All Time Low, but their sales were similar yesterday and so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the #1; overall their amounts aren't that close.
Take That, These Days back in the top 75 Disappointingly the album is not top 100
I'm surprised Jamie T's new EP doesn't appear to be in the Top 100 at all, I thought it'd outsell Black Clouds (at #41).
Really hope Jess can grab the number one spot again on sunday. Its by far the best song out of the top 3 at present.
BBHMM out of the Top 40. Oops.
Rob you seem strangely interested in Rihanna not doing very well...
Fingers crossed for Jess to snatch the lead Again please. She's almost #1 on iTunes again too
Is the Jamie T EP thing eligible? It's too long for the singles chart so it might be a budget album.
"Dear Future Husband" should secure a place in the top 40 on Sunday as it currently stands at #23 on iTunes. Pitbull & Ne-Yo should get top 20 as they're at #21 on iTunes and have streaming on their side
'King' should be #5 this week. I'd love if it could be the first song in history to cover every position in the top 10!
I'm not so sure about BBHMM doing much better even when streaming are added... It's not exactly selling a lot, neither in the UK nor in the States
I fear that Jess Glynne will make it a third week at the top. It's bad enough "Rather Be" hogging the top spot, I don't want "Hold My Hand" hogging the top spot. There's also a fake version of "Cheerleader" at #26 on iTunes which I hope streaming will block it from entering
Thursday update incoming!

Hoping Stevie can at least hold on to #3 now. It seems possible, as although he's down to #8 on iTunes already he should still be selling decently. Depends how hard the weekend (streaming) hits him really; same goes for Nick Jonas.
looking good for a Jess Glynne victory then with the weekend effect she should definitely make it.
Also good to see Pep & Rash not falling from yesterday, hopefully they do a Hannah Wants and hold up reasonably well by Sunday.
Is Omi in the top 40 today?
With Alan Carr and the live lounge it could be close!
any update on Madonnas position?
Also how far outside the top 40 is Trouble please Jay?
Jess only sold 600 more copies than Nick yesterday so I think it will be close, though Jess will probably end up getting the no 1
I hope not. If she does, it will be on low chart sales and he'll be #1 on sales
How close is 1989 to the top five?
Also really hope jealous can get to #1
I think Nick doing Alan tomorrow has them pretty much neck and neck. It'll be hard to predict.
I think "Cheerleader" should make it another week in the top 40 before it officially goes on sale. I'm surprised to see Pitbull & Ne-Yo at #30 so far. They should climb higher by Sunday as they're at #20 on iTunes and have streaming on their side. It's also nice to see "Dear Future Husband" climbing and I hope "Firestone" can finally break the top 10
Where is See You Again please?
its going to be a close top 2, Jess and Nick are practically selling the same amount as each other, might tip it towards Jess Glynne's favour on stream sales. 18% for Jess, 4% for Nick stream sales.
Can't do any requests at the moment, hopefully someone else can. I'm on dinner duty
I was thinking Cheerleader could have been top 30 on streams with it being top 10 now on spotify but it just shows how much higher streams are at weekends. Can't tell who will be no1 tbh!
Streaming data was missing from today's midweeks so I think tomorrow (if they are included) will show Omi comfortably in the Top 40.
I think Pep & Rash will be #6 on the sales chart seeing as that has been the peak on iTunes and it has got to that position more than once this week.
Mids are in, hold your horses, a big change at the top of the singles chart.

Let's hope Nick Jonas can stay there by Sunday. Alan Carr should help him out tonight. I also hope the fake version of "Cheerleader" stays out by Sunday
I think Spotify sales are missing, Bars & Melody are at #35, surely they would have dropped.
Yay for Nick - though it'll be close on Sunday. Weekend effect/streaming Vs. Promo. I can see #1 being as close as 1k.
Is Iggy's Trouble nearing the top 40, Martin? Thanks.
Any news on Madonna today? Thanks
And before anyone asks... Normanrockx is not top 40 this is certainly going to kill Omi's sales, if they don't delete Normanrockx version pretty soon.
Absolute head trip that Nick Jonas is heading to #1 - considering how little an impact him and the rest of the Bros made chart wise at their peak (their tours always did well here I seem to remember but I think 'SOS' was their only top 20 here?) this is huge for him.
I mean I preferred what Joe bought out a couple of years back but good on him anyway. Good to see Stevie McCrorie doing well too. Really hope it's the start of sustained success for him.
Aren't Bars & Melody going round doing loads of CD signings? I think it's physical sales that are rising, as opposed to their download sales, which have been quickly collapsing.
any info on Rihanna's songs? 45S and/or BBHMM?
Really hope Nick holds on! Would be such a surprise #1. I was just keeping my fingers crossed for Top 5 before it went on sale.
A little bit of chart trivia, if Nick Jonas does peak at #1 it will be the 500th track going straight in at #1 according to my database, but he was #113 last week in the top 200.
I guess Bars & Melody are becoming the new Reconnected/M.A.D then, except complete lack of streaming will make sure they miss the official top 40 this weekend (thankfully).
Nick number 1! YASSSS PLEASE HANG ON. I hope it's a similar fate for 'Chains' too (assuming that's the second single).
Top 5 sales added.... wow top 3 are so close... and further chart info available.
Ar these anywhere to be seen?
The One - Kodaline
Big Girls Cry - Sia
Trouble - Iggy Azalea
Post to Be - Omarion
Sorry about the large amount of requests Martin, thanks for your help!
Thank you!
Hoping Trouble sneaks in this week, it's doing well on iTunes but streaming is such a big hinderance now.
Hopefully The One too, #18 on iTunes now so surely it'll make it.
I must admit the singles chart looks a bit better now, some of the deadwood has gone, just needs Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran to drop away
Wow awful singles sales this week Jess Glynne for a third week at number 1 please.
Will the No.1 even pass 45k sales, what happened? Easter lull or just everyone getting annoyed that Wiz Khalifa/Omi/Carly Rae have all been held back for ridiculous periods of time and boycotting iTunes *.*
The sales for the #1 album aren't looking much better lol
As exciting as this week's Top 3 may be, those are some low numbers, even with streaming included.
It might pick up in the long run but I really did expect James Bay's 'Chaos and the Calm' to sell much more along the lines of George Ezra.... Only this week will be over 100k .... I hope it does eventually get closer to the sales of George, Ed & Sam...
with those kind of sales I think Jess Glynne should easily get to #1 on Sunday, with the weekend effect and the fact she's outselling Nick Jonas on iTunes as well as obviously being ahead on streaming.
Seems very much like a default #1 though due to big releases being held back, hopefully Wiz Khalifa is taking advantage of the low sales and releases this Sunday
Imagine if Wiz Khalifa and OMI were both released on Sunday, that'd be quite an interesting battle!
(I think OMI would win that though, probably with ease)
Team Jess tbh.
Is there fake Cheerleader anywhere in the top 100?
Good GRIEF at those sales, the No1 will be hard pressed to shift 60k for the week at this rate...
When sales are low it adds a certain amount of unpredictability to the proceedings; you can never be quite sure how much impact a TV performance will garner, so could a Graham Norton performance help Nick Jonas to cling on? Thankfully with a substantive streaming advantage a third week for Jess Glynne looks the most likely outcome, thus stopping a pointless one week flash in the pan that no one will remember in six months time!
I don't know why people are so against a more unpredictable #01. Jess has been there with Rather Be pt.3, she doesn't need to be at the top any longer.
Just heard cheer leader. Not for me Thankyou.
I'm feeling confident that Wiz Khalifa will make the top 40 tomorrow, seeing as he's #1 on spotify and has few sales from Amazon
Tomorrow's top 40 could be one of the most unpredictable in ages due to the mess ups with streaming sales during the week!
