Has your opinion changed on this since premiere? What are your feelings about this now over 1 year later? Is it her most divisive single? |

I actually, lowkey, don't mind this at all! Is it essential Taylor? Probably not, but it's fun! I honestly don't understand why it's hated on SO much!
Brendon sounds great on it too and fits in well! Also, the video is great! |

I also like this song. I was worried we might get an angry or sad Taylor again on her lead single, so I really loved the fun she has offered with Me.

I really liked this when it first came out but it dropped in my affections a bit over time, especially compared to a lot of 'Lover'!

I still like it just as much as I did when I first heard it. I also like the "Hey kids, spelling is fun!" line that is hated by many.

I hated it first time I heard it, still hate it now and really think it's her worst thing ever
musically and lyrically both it's like a song for children, like if she thought her audience were 7 year old kids |

This was the moment when Taylor Swift squandered her position as the most anticipated female artist in America.

Still not great. Both Taylor and Brendon have had a lot better songs than this rather puerile and bubblegum pop one.

It’s definitely not as bad as some make it out to be.
I actually prefer this to quite a few of her singles released nearby to this (like I prefer it to You Need To Calm Down) and think it’s a better lead than Look What You Made Me Do as well. I love the video too and think the song works well as like a fun almost intentionally cheesy fun number. As for it being lead single that was a choice. It really seemed as though Taylor and her entire team were very very sure this song was “that song” if you watch her documentary. Most of the opinion however I think are more strong towards this because it was a lead single had it been an album track then made a single later into the campaign people wouldn’t perhaps be as negative towards it. I like it for what it is though. Far from being her worst but also not one of her best too. But it’s fun, care free and it makes me smile. |
