Great to see Our Origin and Happy Now make it!

Because of my point system Happy Now just missed out my top 250 but it will probably finish very high in the 2019 EOY! Really love it.

What a random collection of songs laugh.gif Happy Now is another great piece from Kygo, I don't think I've heard any other remixes of Bella Ciao other than this one but this one is a great swing-dance piece!

Yes, I noticed that's back up to being your current number one!

I wouldn't have known it if it wasn't for you, so thanks! Hope it does well in TBO!

Random? I like to call it 'variety' biggrin.gif and you'll certainly see plenty more of that on the way as well!

29. Dean Lewis - Be Alright

Here is the debut international hit for Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis, and I predict it could become his only proper hit in the UK as it's hard to follow up well-written songs like this. Although this was still robbed of a place in the UK top ten, less than 400 sales behind George Ezra's Shotgun which was re-entering the top ten for its 15th week there!

28. RÜFÜS DU SOL - Lost In My Mind

Continuing the Australian theme, alternative dance trio RÜFÜS (who changed their name to RÜFÜS DU SOL a few months before this was released biggrin.gif) are here with Lost In My Mind, a beautiful song on escapism which appeared on their third album Solace.

27. Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry

This was the first (and also my favourite) song Ariana released since the tragic events in Manchester the previous year, which the music video also includes a subtle tribute to at the end. A song with meaning and optimism as well as generally being a pretty good bop. This has now probably made it into my top five Ariana Grande songs ever, which is saying a lot when you remember the likes of Into You, Break Free and One Last Time.

26. AWS - Viszlát Nyár

Here we have the one and only entry from this year's Eurovision Song Contest in my top 40. I was impressed by this right when I first heard it as it really stood out from the rest of that semi-final! This was the entry from Hungary and I was so happy when this went through to the final! Even though it's a Hungarian rock entry for Eurovision, I still listen to this one quite often!

IT DOESN'T MATTER PUT THE PHOOOOOOOOOONE AWAYYYYY wub.gif I like that song if you hadn't guessed.

Viszlat Nyar was probably mid-table for me in terms of Eurovision entries but it certainly was unique, it made my weekly Top 40 purely due to the fact that I'd forgotten to add Nova Deca so probably a bonus for this.

Sweet But Psycho is still growing on me. Glad it's been a massive hit.

So happy to see No Tears Left To Cry here. It felt like such an event when it was released and it certainly did not disappoint. biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif I knew you'd be pleased to see Be Alright in here. Yup, Viszlát Nyár really did stand out this year, there were no other rock entries at all were there?

The release of NTLTC was a huge deal wasn't it? Should have been number one!

25. Dave - Hangman

Dave has had a pretty successful 12 months - so much so that even though this was a top 40 hit, it's still probably one of his less remembered songs! With the likes of No Words and Funky Friday becoming so huge (the latter even became a UK number one!), it's easy to forget this. The difference between those and Hangman is that those are a lot more upbeat and fun whereas this showed a much more serious side, and the lyrics are rather well-written and thought-provoking.

the lyrics I remember being rather good but the song as a whole was very forgettable, doesn't have the appeal that Funky Friday and No Words do.

Those were way more upbeat, I guess Hangman isn't necessarily a song to have on in the background or something, but when you pay attention to it it's pretty good, the lyrics stand out.

24. Post Malone - Better Now

This is Post Malone's first appearance in my top 40 of the year, with another still to come. However, Better Now is the only one to feature from the Beerbongs & Bentleys album he released in 2018 (although Rockstar only just missed out on a second year in my EOY top 40), with the other being carried over from Stoney. This was a pretty big hit over the summer and for months I couldn't get enough of it.

23. Claudia Cazacu & Audrey Gallagher - Freefalling

Romanian DJ Claudia Cazacu teamed up with Audrey Gallagher for this all-female euphoric trance banger! I've listened to this many times since discovering it in 2016 and it enjoyed a revival in my chart after I chose this as my Buzzjack Song Contest debut entry for Arcodesia. The song ended up qualifying for the final, much to my delight, and finished 25th out of 39.
