The BBC has just released the first trailer of a new drama, Vigil from World Productions (behind Line of Duty, Bodyguard and The Pembrokeshire Murders).

Suranne Jones, Martin Compston and Rose Leslie are amongst the cast.

No word on when it's airing yet - given we're about to head into Summer I bet they're saving it for this year's big August bank holiday drama premiere (which worked well for Bodyguard!)

Really liked the look of the trailer last night, I'll certainly be watching!

Interesting, ITV also have their own submarine-murder series this year with 'Tenacity'.

This was intriguing, the submarine setting is really claustrophobic and atmospheric whilst it’s balanced nicely with the investigations in the Scottish scenery. Really looking forward to the second part tomorrow.

Are the "MI5" agents the US Naval team? Must have only been paying half attention.

Not quite sure where this is going, seems like all the crew have been investigated apart from the Captain and that feels way too obvious.

I'm currently v suspicious of the woman who delivers the messages, she's coming across as far too nice and hasn't had any form of investigation so far.

This is SO good... I've only watched 2 episodes so far but anything Suranne does is just effortless.

I don't think we can rule out the medic btw... there was something really off about her during the interogation scene.

i have to say... does every detective show have to have previous, serious trauma that effects that others can utilise as a reason for their inability to carry out their duty?
