BuzzJack Music Forum _ P!nk _ The Greatest Hits... Part Two!

Posted by: troublepink 12th July 2019, 05:43 AM

With rumours and predictions around there being a second greatest hits being released in 2020 to mark Pink's 20th anniversary in music, what songs would you pick to be on the track list? Would you choose a double CD? Bonus features DVD?

Blow Me OLK
Try
Just Give Me A Reason
True Love
Waterfall
What About Us
Beautiful Trauma
Secrets
Revenge (meh it did go top 40 here)
Whatever You Want
A Million Dreams
Walk Me Home
Can We Pretend
(Whatever else is released from H2BH)
And then around 4/5 new tracks too

Campaign similar to Greatest Hits 1 with two singles.

I’d release it as Greatest Hits... Part 2 though and not have anything on it pre 2010.

I think a mixture would be more appealing.
Unless they re release the original with a bonus disc that includes the since since its original release.

Agree with that. They could always sell the new GH as a single edition and then have a 'double' edition with the 2010...that makes no sense how I've explained it! Hopefully you get what I mean laugh.gif

I’d be happy if they kept the tracks from the last one but made it a double CD for the newer stuff-everything could be in a different order?

Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
Try
Just Give Me A Reason
Just Like Fire
What About Us
A Million Dreams
Walk Me Home

Those are an absolute must. I’d also like to see

Most Girls
Lady Marmalade
God Is A DJ
Nobody Knows
Leave Me Alone (I’m Lonely)
I Don’t Believe You
True Love
Beautiful Trauma
Can We Pretend

Obviously there will probably be new tracks but it’d be nice to have it as complete as possible.

I think having it as Greatest Hits... Part Two! is a great idea! She could easily then sell it as a double edition with the original GH included as a second disc.

1 Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
2 Try
3 Just Give Me A Reason
4 True Love
5 Just Like Fire
6 What About Us
7 Beautiful Trauma
8 Whatever You Want
9 Secrets
10 Revenge
11 A Million Dreams
12 Walk Me Home
13 Can We Pretend
14 Hurts 2B Human
15 Love Me Anyway
16 NEW SONG
17 NEW SONG

I can see a tracklist similar to this if they followed the same style as the first GH, although imo it could flow a lot better with a few changes

1 Blow Me (One Last Kiss)
2 NEW SONG
3 Just Like Fire
4 What About Us
5 Hurts 2B Human
6 Just Give Me A Reason
7 Beautiful Trauma
8 True Love
9 Walk Me Home
10 Secrets
11 A Million Dreams
12 Try
13 Whatever You Want
14 Revenge
15 Can We Pretend
16 Love Me Anyway
17 NEW SONG

Surely, it would be a double CD? She’s had plenty of hits over the last 20 years!

Ya gas to be a double and I think it should be her next release while greatest hits releases are still a thing.

I would just do a single cd with the greatest hits since her first one (Part 2) and then do a deluxe edition of her original greatest hits featuring Part 2 as a double cd.

To put it this way: one cd that people can buy as a complement to their original GH edition and then a double-cd deluxe edition for those that didn't buy the original.

A stand alone edition of the hits since her previous Greatest Hits followed by the deluxe release including the original Greatest Hits would drive sales.
Not good for the financial pocket of the fans but would welcome it.

CD 2 is much the stronger for me.

And where the hell is Last To Know Nina? thinking.gif

Posted by: Bjork 18th June 2020, 10:37 AM

was thinking that Pink switched labels after her GH
so all the hits up and including the GH are on one label, while all the hits from the last 3 albums are on a new label
don't think she has enough hits from the last 3 albums to justify a new GH
but for a career spanning new GH that means the 2 labels have to collaborate
or the new label has to buy the rights to the old songs,
which I'm not sure if it's feasible...

Technically, yes - she switched from LaFace / Zomba to RCA, but they're all under Sony Entertainment so rights aren't an issue.

^good to know

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 21st June 2020, 03:40 PM

i wonder is a greatest hits 2 even on the cards right now.

Posted by: T Boy 21st June 2020, 04:57 PM

It probably was but COVID has thrown things up into the air. It would be a wise move if there’s no new album on the way, streaming can artificially make GHs seen successful and Pink’s needs an update.
