STILL DEVELOPING STORY
From BBC News A number of people have been stabbed and a man has been shot dead by armed police in an attack at London Bridge. The Met Police has declared the stabbing attack a terrorist incident. The suspect, who died at the scene, was believed to have been wearing a hoax explosive device, police said. A BBC reporter at the scene said he had seen a fight on the bridge, with several men attacking one man. Police then arrived quickly and a number of shots were fired at him, he said. Details are still emerging and Neil Basu, the head of UK counter-terrorism policing, said the force was keeping an open mind over the motive. He said officers were called to a stabbing at a premises near the bridge just before 14:00. Footage has emerged on social media of a man apparently being pinned down by members of the public. Another man in a suit and jacket could be seen running from him, having apparently retrieved a large knife. The members of the public then disperse and the man appears to be shot by police as he lay on the ground. Mr Basu told a press conference: "A male suspect was shot by specialist armed officers from City of London police and I can confirm that this suspect died at the scene." Boris has just returned to No.10 to meet Home Secretary Priti Patel, liaise with police and assess the threat.

Has he feck. We'll see nothing fron either of those two liars unless they can get a dig or a warmongering respectively into it.
Besides that, I hope no-one is too badly hurt or killed as result of this and hope the police shot the right person. |

Police are warning people and motorists to try and avoid Central London if possible as a wide area has been evacuated in what is still a live situation as checks are being made for bombs. Sniffer dogs being brought in to check for explosives in the area.

Can you lot never resist the chance to have a go at the PM and Home Secretary? Now is not the time. He was in his constituency and is now back in No.10, in charge and very concerned. Senior police chiefs have been summoned to No.10 to brief ministers. Met Police commissioner is there now. This post has been edited by common sense: Nov 29 2019, 05:23 PM |

Already people on Twitter criticising police for shooting him. Well as has also been pointed out, you don't negotiate or try to arrest a man looking to be wearing a suicide vest and you aim for the head so as not to detonate any explosives.

I was only in London Bridge 2 weeks ago for work (quite close to where the video footage was shot). I was very conscious of the last terrorist attack that happened there only 2 years ago whilst I was over, and it's hearbreaking that it looks like another one has happened again. My thoughts are with those who have been injured, my praises are with the brave people who tackled the f***biscuit involved, and I fully intend to learn absolutely nothing else about the f***biscuit responsible.

Two people have died, not including the man shot dead by police.

Johnson has zero concern for anyone but himself and his bank balance.

Oh stop it. Now is not the time to politicise this. Well it’d be great if you could tell that to some people (e.g. Darren Grimes), who are sharing fake Corbyn tweets and rapidly refreshing an old Corbyn BBC article that looks bad with this context so it appears on the top read stories. I would not be shocked if those strategies originated from the mind of Cummings. Slander your opponent however necessary. |

With respect, you were the one who brought him up in the first place. The threat was already taken care of by the police. What are Johnson and Patel going to do, sne the officer a gift basket? Or cook up a way to spin the situation to their advantage?

Absolutely terrible when people have died. |

He resigned with immediate effect the other day as he's to have a major operation. Has no idea if he'll be back working for Boris. |

His questionably ethical strategies (not exclusively his of course, he's just the latest grifter) are still permeating the Tory party. Bit of a wrong thread to link it in but there's a great Guardian article going around about how Tory candidates have been issued documents of false/misleading smears to use against the party closest to them in their constituency.

Yes I was reading about that last night. To be fair we don't know that Labour aren't doing similar things though. |

This is so sad, RIP to the victims and thoughts with their loved ones.
Politically, this will hurt the Conservatives as people will question why the attacker was allowed out of prison in the first place. It's a shame to see this event being used as a smear campaign against Jeremey Corbyn/Labour. |

Well they say today he must not have been deemed to be a danger to the public to have been let out.
