I wish this subforum was around for the Manchester One Love concert, it was so beautiful and there were so many highlights, I had the day off, I bought snacks, drank wine, cried, danced and sang along. I'm super glad she finally won over the British public, although of course it's awful how it all came about.

That was really such a beautiful night even though I was so far back I could hardly see anything/nearly missed my train home/had an exam at 9 the next morning. The pure emotion of everyone in the crowd during Don't Look Back In Anger & Somewhere Over The Rainbow especially is something I'll never forget.

I think it's one of her album tracks (Lovin' It), the 'inc.' bit is a common way of titling an off topic thread in an artist forum.

She has a good voice I think, Break Free and One Last Time were both in my personal chart when they were released. Focus was very different with the male vocalist in the chorus and I liked that one too.

But she's not European, the whole point of the single was for the Euro 2016 tournament. I have to say, after one listen, I prefer Ariana's version too but I was never a huge fan of Zara's original anyway.

i don't think the whole point of the song was for Euro 2016, that must have come after. otherwise, why would she have recorded it in the first place?

So 'Be Alright' has actually been certified Silver in the UK which is pretty amazing! The God awful original/single version with Migos was leaked as well, good Lord it's a train wreck and I'm so grateful they didn't choose to release THAT.

I think Miss Mojo's underrated songs countdown is more based on songs underrated to GP and songs that aren't singles (iirc ATW was #1 in Taylor's most underrated songs and that's certainly not underrated in the fandom at all 😂)

Yes Touch It being there is great, Greedy seemed an obvious choice, but I think a lot of people were expecting Touch It to get the "New Romantics" treatment (the favourite bonus track released as a final single), kind of what I'm hoping Katy does with Act My Age.

I think this chapter is making her anxiety worse because it's reminding her of things she doesn't want to remember, so that's why she's rushing to the next one. I also can imagine she sacrificed a lot of tracks she probably loved in order to cater to her feelings that she no longer wants to feel or remember.

I love God is a woman but I wish no tears left to cry was nominated instead in the pop solo performance category.
I was surprised at that being her nomination for the category, ntltc seemed to be better received and was the bigger hit.
I do love sweetener as an album though I actually think it might be her best album the only track I skip is the light is coming, I can see why some may not like it as much as dangerous woman though.
On the subject of awards, BRITS is surely in the bag for international female right? And hopefully her first ever performance too wasn’t she meant to do it last year but pulled out? Come on Ari I hope she gets the closing slot and performs multiple tracks.

Wow that's gone so fast I agree, what a horrendous night </3 and it was crazy how the news quickly evolved from a speaker potentially blowing to the tragedy it actually was. I couldn't stop watching the news and checking social media all night and during the following days. This was an example of when social media can make a positive impact, I remember people/institutions offering places to stay for those who had been separated from who they were with, or the constant sharing of faces that were missing.
Shall definitely be giving 'One Last Time' some spins today 🐝

I often feel quite disconnected from news events - sure, you hear some bad stuff, but it always seems so far away from my own life. This one however hit me right in the feels. I love going to concerts, it's a safe space for me to express myself and get lost in the moment doing what I truly love. This was a horrifying news story to follow that still makes me feel sick to my stomach to think about. RIP to the lives lost.

Ari has reportedly donated $300,000 of the profits from her show in Atlanta, Georgia to Planned Parenthood, who help out with different healthcare issues. This follows the recent news that Georgia are one of the states who passed the "fetal heartbeat" abortion law (this is US legislation that restricts abortions when the fetal heartbeat can be detected). Queen!
Ariana has teamed up with H&M to release clothing merchandise! I actually think it looks a lot nicer than most of the tour merch and is reasonably priced, so I may have to pop to H&M soon I want one of the pieces with her actually on it, maybe this jumper (going for £19.99):

Yeah it's a shame that 'Breathin' missed out! Quite a unique situation with her last two eras happening so close together.
I've just realised that this run of four unbroken appearances from 100 to 103 equals the same run from 94 to 97 to be her most, I wonder if she can finally extend it to 5 with a song on 104, perhaps if 'Don't Call Me Angel' drops before then? Fingers crossed!

Yeah she's always been a genre-blender. I can understand people craving all-out pop moments like 'Into You' in her singles catalogue though, as everything since the 'thank u, next' era singles-wise has either had low-key R&B influences or trappy ones. I'm intrigued about the direction of the 'Charlie's Angels' soundtrack, I feel like signs are pointing towards both pop and R&B so far based on snippets ('Angel' and live version of 'Got Her Own') and collaboration rumours.

Ooh lucky, that was the date I most wanted to go to as Birmingham is always closest to me in terms of location, plus a weekend is ideal. But yeah, I didn't get in there quick enough and couldn't find anything that was a reasonable price after they sold out. I'm so thankful that more dates were added even if they are an awkward day of the week <3 you'll have to let us know how you found it, will also be my first time seeing her so I can't comment yet but she does always seem to have impeccable vocals in live videos.
Ariana and P!nk sounds like a fantastic live duo of concerts this year for both of you *.*

Frankie Grande, Ariana's brother, hinted that she was indeed romantically linked with Mikey from Social House, by referring to a recent event with the two as a 'double date'. However he's now said on Twitter that his sister is single, so that finally clears all the rumours from the past month up!

It’s a something for everyone type album.
Sweetener is miles better as a whole album. Dangerous Woman plays like a Greatest Hits it’s like a singles collection although My Everything is her weakest album for me.

I'm late to this but omg 'Yours Truly', 'My Everything' + 'Christmas & Chill' released on vinyl?! AHHHH! The only thing that concerns me is that they're all coloured red, possibly a cancellation? hoping it might mean no longer being released on that date (6th December). Idk but I'll happily snap them up in a heartbeat, I have always regretted not getting a limited edition 'My Everything' vinyl during their original run!

Dangerous Woman is good but she has much better.
Its not too under appreciated by sales though I was stunned at its sales when I seen them not too long ago.
I think I read an article saying it’s actually outsold Oops I Did It Again which blew my mind!
It was on the OCC list of Max Martins biggest hits.
Streaming era sales in general tend to shock me now though!
I’d have went for no tears left to cry for Arianas choice
But album tracks wise I’d be spoilt for choice. I tend to prefer her album tracks to singles pretty much every era with her aside from sweetener.

I think it’s that it’s more of a UK special song so I’m not too surprised. It’s meaning here is very different to what it was worldwide. I think if UK publications were to do a decade end list that song would feature more than any other Ariana track.

I always feel so bad for contestants on shows as it always seems like chart music questions are ones where they tend to not know or go for the wrong answer
I kinda got confused at when she said Ariana makes music for children though I’ve always felt she was rather mature sounding for her age even before Dangerous Woman.

In a way I was shocked she went with Nicki as the clue was 2019 and then I feel like Ariana in general was the most discussed female of the year like she’s pretty much a household name now where as the others aren’t there as much in the UK (but then again it’s what you know like if I got a question like who were the top two teams in the premiership in 2019 I wouldn’t have a f—-ng clue).

I don't find it that surprising she didn't know the answer. Ariana maybe one of the biggest popstars but her music doesn't really reach to older generations, bar maybe 'One Last Time' for its association with Manchester. It would be like asking her to know a Drake song.

I think when you're as interested in music as we are and are surrounded by it all the time, it can be easy to assume there's certain things that everyone should know or have heard of. Like your example on football, I have absolutely no interest in it and couldn't name you any current players, even though football fans would think there are certain players that everyone must have at least heard of. Age definitely is a factor too.

They may have heard of it but I don't think they'd know what it meant or which artist was associated with it. Even if you told them, they wouldn't care enough to remember it.

'The Way' originally being recorded by Jordin was such a revelation to me at the 'Yours Truly' listening party a couple of weeks ago!
Her version is really cool too - both her and Ari suit it.
Noticed this as part of the caption:
"truuuuust me when I say I wanted it. I played this at the start of all my other sessions to show what direction I was headed. But, honestly, I’m not trippin. Ari is amazing and if it wasn’t going to be me, I’m glad it was her!"

If she released it in 2010 or 2011 it could’ve perhaps went top 20 but if she couldn’t get a top 10 with Battlefield I don’t think she would have with this.

Apparently Ariana and Mac first met in late 2012 and uploaded a duet of 'Baby It's Cold Outside' to YouTube - queen of Christmas music it has since been deleted from her channel (of course, it's Ariana) but yes that existed, with Mac's name instead under a pseudonym. It has been re-uploaded by Ariana fans though so is preserved!
That only pre-dates 'The Way' by several months though so still very early days of knowing each other. They started talking after being fans of each other's music!

It was such a beautiful and emotional night. I still have a sticker that says '#WeStandTogether' that I got given as I went in, stuck above my window in my bedroom.
I remember I had an exam the next morning at 9 and was 2 minutes away from missing the last train back home but it was certainly worth it.

I wonder if she may have been on an earlier version of the album and then taken off for some reason? (Obviously the album has been in development for ages, the original lead single ended up not even being on it). The rumours of a Drake/Ari collab seem like they've been around forever, surely it has to happen eventually

I don't know what to believe anymore but social media seems to be buzzing with rumours that Ariana is planning to release a Christmas album this year, with a special alongside it. Both of her Christmas EPs get yearly spins for me so I'd be here for more festive Ari music tbh

I definitely agree that 'Santa Tell Me' is her best Christmas song and that 'Christmas & Chill' was a step up from 'Christmas Kisses', although I'd be kinder towards it, the general cosy vibe really works for me at Christmas time!
It's being speculated that this project is due October which doesn't sound unrealistic tbh, Christmas seems to start earlier each year

In a harrowing written statement to the court last month, the “Thank U, Next” singer and Voice coach said Brown displayed obsessive behavior that “terrifies” her. She said he first appeared outside her private residence last February and then ramped up his visits in August and September to the point where he was approaching her home “nearly every day and sometimes multiple times a day.”
The alleged stalking came to a head shortly after 10 p.m. on September 9th, when Brown brandished “a large hunting knife” outside her residence while she was at home and became “combative” when her security asked him to leave, according to her statement. Brown allegedly returned a few hours later, at 1:27 a.m. on September 10th, and showed the knife again while issuing an ominous threat to her security guard: “I’ll f***ing kill you and her.”
An LAPD arrest record included with Grande’s petition said a knife was recovered from Brown’s front pants pocket during a pat-down.
“The fact that Mr. Brown has been regularly coming to my home for over six months terrifies me,” Grande said in her sworn statement requesting the order. “Based on his threats, I am fearful for my safety and for the safety of my family. I fear that absent a restraining order, Mr. Brown will continue to come to my home and attempt to physically harm or murder me or members of my family.”
Grande’s petition filed September 14th also asked for protection for her husband, Dalton Gomez. The singer, 28, and Gomez, 26, wed in May.
That is terrifying glad she has better protection now although 5 years doesn't seem that long and surely he should be in jail for such dangerous threats.

This video is really cool, it outlines the chart success of women in pop on the Billboard Hot 100. It only focuses on Britney's debut onwards but I'm not surprised, must've been time consuming.

Honestly same, I definitely underrated it at first but I think it receiving that Vogue music video helped me see the error of my ways, what a gem. The lyrics really pack a punch with the mental health themes and she pushes her voice to an impressive place during the chorus!

Ariana, Little Mix and Victoria in the same venue... *.* I didn't go to this (or the 'Dangerous Woman' tour at all) but am grateful to have seen Ariana on the Sweetener World Tour, plus Little Mix on two separate occasions. I had a great time at all of these nights (although Jade losing her voice the second time I saw LM was a shame! she soldiered on like the Queen she is) - so can't imagine how cool it would've been to experience Ari and LM in the same night. Victoria is so talented as well <3

Not going to lie wondering if Ariana is going to "do a Rihanna" crosses my mind sometimes, when news surrounding her at the moment seems to be 90% R.E.M. Beauty really intrigued to see what her next musical move will be - who knows, production for Wicked begins in summer, for all we know she could've been writing during this quiet period before things for that get crazy!
