QUOTE Gracey told the outlet: “As for how we represent Robbie in the film, that bit is top secret. I want to do this in a really original way. I remember going to the cinema as a kid and there were films that blew me away and made me say as I sat there in the cinema, ‘I’ve never seen this before.’ I just want the audience to have that feeling.” Australian Gracey, best known for directing the 2017 blockbuster musical The Greatest Showman, added: “All I can say is the approach is top secret, but the goal is to generate that feeling I just described. It’s this fantastical story, and I want to represent it in its harsh reality all the way to these moments of pure fantasy.” Here it sounds like there will be a mixture of reality and fantasy. I love the sound of it. The more original the better. As befits him. |

Coldplay used CGI monkeys for their Adventure of a Lifetime track
I wonder what his target audience will be & on what media platform , would something like this appeal to Joe Public Cannot see it working myself |

In fairness, it sounds like it'll be Robbie's story with his music - but the character won't be Robbie himself.
So I guess they're trying to aim to those outside of his fans |

So I guess they're trying to aim to those outside of his fans Which is a good idea considering not many know him in US. It's exciting that his music will be heard there. His lyrics seem almost too British but then it works for him in the rest of the world so.... |

He’s gonna be a monkey, odd, I guess it’s animated then, I thought it was gonna be more along the lines of Rocket Man 🤣

Rocket Man was great - there was quite a lot of fantasy in that.
Not monkeys though.... |

Robbie Williams Biopic ‘Better Man’ Sells To Key International Markets
About the film’s music, Gracey added: “All Robbie’s songs will be re-sung, for the emotion of the moment,” he said. “If in his life he’s in the depths of despair, he’s not going to sing a song as cabaret flamboyant showmanship; it’s going to be broken, acapella, stripped down, because that’s where he is emotionally. In moments of pure joy, you’ll get songs sung in this whirlwind of hysteria. So essentially every song in the film, Robbie will sing, but it will be performed for the emotion of that moment, and that scene.” Further info in link below : https://deadline.com/2021/03/robbie-william...cey-1234714451/ |

Which is great - most of the places he sells bar South America and Mexico. What about US? Will they accept no one knows him there so the film doesn't go there? I guess there are loads of films that don't get a US release? |

it might first go to Rob's core markets Also Australia and possibly they hope that then it will spark general interest like the Greatest Showman did. I never saw the film but I understand it is about the Barnum circus, I mean who would want to see this story and nevertheless it was very successful. let's have the fingers crossed. When I read the article I understood that the film is already sold in Rob's core market without they even started filming?

Emotion & storytelling is everything in a song , Robbie is so good at that & I hope it's something they capture in this venture.

I also hope they have a good story in it.
If it's going to be "fantasy" I guess it won't be his life story in chronological order but more a generalisation of one persons opportunities and struggles with fame? I hope it has real emotion in it. I think it will from the way they have described re-recording the songs. Then you know they'll be an album made from the re-recordings. I think it's a big deal for him. I've seen the Greatest Showman a couple of times - it's great because there are very strong performances in it and the music is excellent. . |

I've often thought at gigs - when he starts one of his chats with the audience - he's always so motivational and full of encouragement and positivity when he talks to others. He's so brilliant at talking to a crowd as if they are one person. They need to capture that too.
I think we should be writing this screenplay. |

When Robbie mentioned the projects and also included movie I was not expecting this. But I remember that at one of the talks he said he would also play in one and it would be dark. Do you think he refers to this movie?
I think if they do it right it has huge potential and when the budget is anywhere near what I read then they will also do a good media campaign |

I have to confess - I never really watched any of those live Instagrams Elisabeth so I have no idea what is in the pipeline other than the stuff he has mentioned repeatedly.
It will all come as a surprise to me I do wonder though if his friendship with Hugh Jackman has something to do with the choice of director |

It's the screenwriters that I think have got to get it right , they tell the story through the dialogue , script & portrayal of the character , it will be interesting to see how they do it.

Watched a documentary on Netflix about Taylor Swift ( Miss Americano ) , it was very interesting & gave insight into the world of music, media, fans . I see she is in a relationship now which is really nice, she talked about where for many years she had nobody ( apart from her Mum ) to talk about her success , worries , getting older etc , it reminded me of Robbie & how lucky he was to have found somebody like Ayda , it must make such a difference in his life, one he probably never envisaged happening
