In my own little unbiased opinion!!! Light Years, the career highlight album from Kylie.
Full of fantastically wonderful songs, that by large, i would say are better than some of the single released from the album.
What is the best album track for you, 18 years on from its release when Kylie completely turned her career around.
Please, vote and leave some comments.
Next week i will create the poll for best single from the masterpiece album.

For me, it has to be 'Your Disco Needs You'. Although, that was a single in Australia, wasn't it?

It's a great big glitter ball of campery and, in my eyes, beats all the other 'Light Years' singles except maybe 'Spinning Around'.

Yes, Your Disco Needs was a single in Australia and its wonderful track as are quiet a few of the others on the album.

So Now Goodbye
Loveboat
Koocachoo
Im So High

These 4 tracks i consider the weaker songs on the album and would not be in contention to receive my vote.
All the remaining songs i could all vote for.

Hmmm. I actually quite like all those four. But I did used to find a lot of the album too cheesy. Nowadays, I fully embrace that aspect.

The ones I always skip are 'Bittersweet Goodbye' and 'Butterfly'.

Your Disco Needs You - I don’t think it’s aged particularly well but it’s such an anthem and is amazing on tour plus the injustice that it was never given a UK single release cry.gif

I voted Disco Down as it is just wonderful.
As much as i adore Your Disco Needs You, I do feel it was the correct decision not to make it a single in the UK.

I feel like 'Disco Down' has emerged as my favourite album track over time. I can't believe this album is 18 years old, my gosh. I remember that period so well.

I feel like there are certain songs (Koocachoo, Loveboat, I'm So High) that I'd never listen to as standalone songs but in context of the album when you play it through they just work so perfectly.

Koocachoo, Loveboat, I'm So High are the weak songs from what is otherwise a fantastic album.
Koocachoo is the song i like least from the album.

'Bittersweet Goodbye' is my one skipper. I just can't sit through that in full, I find it toe-curling and it makes me wince.

Bittersweet Goodbye, is beautiful, we have such opposite tastes.
With that said, i am aware more people dislike Bittersweet Goodbye than like it.

I love Bittersweet Goodbye - Kylie’s ballads are always good, it reminds me a bit of ‘If You Don’t Love Me’.

I don't think it's fair to say we have completely opposite tastes, we agree on some stuff!

For me it would have to be "Light Years", it's just got everything dance in there, trance, house, you name it.

I love light years the song but I loved it more on the tour with turn it into love, those songs mixed just worked brilliantly and it was a brilliant performance too, that mix in a studio version would have made a brilliant single.

Living in Germany YDNY was an official single, even her highest charting single from Light Years over here. I remember her being on Germany's biggest tv show performing the song, that helped sales a lot.

^^ Just looked up the German charts, it was surprisingly Kylie’s only Top 40 there from Light Years!

Spinning Around #62
On A Night Like This #72
Kids #47
Please Stay #DNC
Your Disco Needs You #31

Light Years (Album) #35

YDNY was released instead of PS, I think it was a good choice. YDNY is one of Kylie's signature songs in Germany, because it was her biggest solo single since Better The Devil You Know. Her Nick Cave duet was top 20, but after that she vanised again.
