Thanks to everyone who took part, and it's now time to reveal the answers to the Album Covers.

We had 27 entrants:

Some stats on the bonus questions before we begin:

11 out of 27 players correctly identified the theme (and the album that didn't fit the theme).

How many albums will be correctly guessed by everyone?
The highest guess for this was a whopping 36 and the lowest guess was 1.
The number of albums correctly identified by all players was in fact... 4!

Which album will be the least correctly guessed?
Surprisinly there were 11 different answers for this.

Which album will be the most correctly guessed?
There were only two different answers for this: 3 people went for album #36 and everyone else went for album #8.

I'll reveal the albums five at a time, and without further ado here's the first set of answers:

1.

Arctic Monkeys - AM

First up, we have the Arctics' excellent album 'AM' which was correctly identified by almost everyone.

Correct guesses: 26/27

2.

Coldplay - X&Y

Next is 'X&Y', the last Coldplay album that I really liked.

Correct guesses: 22/27

3.

Duffy - Rockferry

Duffy's massive 'Rockferry' from 2008 is up next, correctly guessed by all but one person.

Correct guesses: 26/27

4.

Manic Street Preachers - This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours

One of my favourite Manics albums, I think (but I'm not completely sure) that this might be their biggest selling studio album?

Correct guesses: 17/27

5.

Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms

An album I've used on a previous Album Covers quiz, I was forced to include it once again due to the theme!

Correct guesses: 26/27

Wow so many 26/27 guesses in that section ohmy.gif hoping for a full house for my 'most guessed album' bonus question pick.

'AM' is my favourite in that batch of 5 - the only one of those I have in my vinyl collection currently, but would like 'X&Y' at some point too. <3

6.

Annie Lennox - Diva

From 1992, this is Annie Lennox's striking album cover for 'Diva'.

Correct guesses: 21/27

7.

Stormzy - Gang Signs & Prayer

Stormzy's highly acclaimed 'Gang Signs & Prayer' is the 7th album in the list.

Correct guesses: 25/27

8.

Ed Sheeran - X

There was no mistaking this one of course and it's one of the four albums that was answered correctly by every player!

Correct guesses: 27/27

9.

Sting - ...Nothing Like The Sun

Up next is Sting's critically acclaimed second solo album '...Nothing Like The Sun', a phrase which has definitely rung true this past weekend in the UK!

Correct guesses: 20/27

10.

Travis - The Man Who

The album that properly shot Travis to fame, 'The Man Who' contains their most iconic and memorable singles including the sublime 'Why Does It Always Rain On Me?'

Correct guesses: 24/27

8/10 so far that I got and am cursing myself for not writing down Sting's name even though I didn't know the album.

As much as I love the Manics I don't think I would have got that one even if I had spent more time thinking about it.

So far there's no way I would have gotten any of the ones I've not got which is good (although I'll still end up finishing in the bottom 10 for this tongue.gif)

Also intrigued to find out what the theme was as presumably my guess was incorrect.

Oh Gosh, so I was the only one that didn't get Brothers in Arms blush.gif I'm sorry, not that educated on Dire Straits x

At least I made up for it for getting the lowest guessed one so far x

11.

George Michael - Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1

I got a few variants of the album name for this (Listen To Prejudice, Listen With Prejudice etc.) but I was pretty lenient and gave you the point if you got it vaguely correct, and I didn't dock points for omitting the 'Vol. 1' either (particularly given that Vol. 2 never materialised!)

Correct guesses: 22/27

12.

Fairground Attraction - The First Of A Million Kisses

One of the more challenging album covers in the quiz, I have to admit that I probably wouldn't have got this one myself as I'm not familiar with the album at all.

Correct guesses: 16/27

13.

The 1975 - A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships

This was the second least correctly guessed album in the quiz with some going for The Beatles' White Album (which it might have been without those speckles of colour!)

Correct guesses: 15/27

14.

Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go

Arguably the Manics' best known album and their first release following the sad disappearance of Richey Edwards.

Correct guesses: 22/27

15.

Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare

The Arctic Monkeys are one of several artists to have multiple albums appear in the quiz, the reasons for which will become clear once the theme is revealed!

Correct guesses: 21/27

Just realised where I went wrong with Sting, I was thinking I recognised the cover from The Police and 'Every Breath You Take' but it was actually 'Englishman In New York' which was a single from that album.

Hanging my head in complete shame that I didn't identify an Arctic Monkeys album. If that wasn't bad enough I said the White Album for the 1975!

I think i'm doing okay so far...

But it looks like I was way out on the "How many will everyone guess correctly?" question.

I originally thought Fairground Attraction was The Smiths for some reason and then Stereophonics...but worked out the correct answer in the end.

I think I put Ed Sheeran as being a most correctly guessed.

Fingers crossed for the rest.

I did bad in the first two... and looking at next week's, I'm going to flop at that too... so I'm pleased to have one success story (hopefully)

16.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

The oldest album in the quiz and one of the four which was universally correctly answered.

Correct guesses: 27/27

17.

Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More

Another one which more people got than I was expecting (even those who didn't get the theme!)

Correct guesses: 23/27

18.

Coldplay - Parachutes

One of the more recognisable ones in the quiz, only one person couldn't identify the spinning globe on Coldplay's 'Parachutes'.

Correct guesses: 26/27

19.

David Bowie - Blackstar

Up next is Bowie's poignantly timed 'Blackstar' album, released two days before his death in 2016.

Correct guesses: 26/27

20.

Phil Collins - No Jacket Required

This receding harline belonged to Phil Collins, as many of you correctly identified.

Correct guesses: 20/27

Judging by what's been said about the theme, I don't think I was anywhere near laugh.gif I went through so many failed ideas that I ended up with something which basically describes every album ever released!

21.

Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love

One of the least correctly guessed albums, this bedraggled hair belonged to Kate Bush for her fifth studio album.

Correct guesses: 17/27

22.

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Easily one of the most recognisable album covers of all time, I bet eight of you are kicking yourselves at not getting this one!

Correct guesses: 19/27

23.

The Verve - Urban Hymns

Despite this album containing one of my favourite songs of all time in 'The Drugs Don't Work', I've never rated the album that highly as a whole (unlike music critics and the millions of people who bought it - it's the 18th best selling album in UK chart history with sales of over 3m).

Correct guesses: 24/27

24.

Sade - Diamond Life

This is the debut album by Sade and more people recognised this than I was expecting.

Correct guesses: 20/27

25.

Keane - Hopes And Fears

Here we have Keane's debut album which was the second best selling album of 2004.

Correct guesses: 23/27
