Searching is a 2018 American thriller film directed by Aneesh Chaganty and written by Chaganty and Sev Ohanian. Shot from the point-of-view of smartphones and computer screens, the film follows a father (John Cho) trying to find his missing 16-year-old daughter. It is noted as the first mainstream Hollywood thriller headlined by an Asian-American actor.

93% on Rotten Tomatoes! ohmy.gif

Saw the trailer for this recently and will admit I'm excited to see it and whether it actually works given how it's shot. Based on the review score I'm assuming it actually does which is a relief!

Just saw this, absolutely amazing! So gripping, really emotional and heart wrenching in places and even has a bit of humour too. The twists are done so well with throwing out subtle hints throughout the film and it works so well all being done online / phone / YouTube videos - making you really engage and works more effectively than say the Unfriended films.

Yup, echoing everything which Jack said! My heart was in my mouth towards the end. Possibly my fave film of 2018 so far tbh!

It's very underrated. A really well executed concept. I eventually got the twists (well, kinda) before they unravelled, but it wasn't THAT predictable.

Thought the cast did an amazing job overall. The more I think and talk about it to someone, the more I realise how much I enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed I didn't cotton onto the outcome until nearer the end but so enjoyed it.
