Five times darts world champion Eric "The Crafty Cockney" has died aged 60. One of the most recognizable names in darts.
He wasn't ill (that I know of anyway), had a heart attack attending the Premier League Darts tonight. He helped support Phil Taylor get into darts and helped at the start of his career. At times he was controversial away from that he was the biggest name in darts during the 70s +80s and 90s. Unfortunately darthitis affected him later in his career. |

That's such a shame to hear A legend of the Sport and really enjoyed his commentary/punditry later on too (bit of a shame he ended on a low with those controversial comments however).
Always a bigger shock when it's something so sudden like this. |

It is quite a shock for me. His commentary and punditry was spot on. Shame yes with those controversial comments back in 2016.

This was poignant:
From the crowd at Liverpool and the emotion in Peter Wright and Daryl Gurney's faces. |
