The duo is composed of Ben Haggerty, a rapper who goes by the name of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, a record producer, DJ, and professional photographer, who met the former at a photo shoot and they have significantly collaborated ever since. In 2009, they released their first collaborative effort, an EP titled VS. EP. They have since followed up with VS. Redux (2010) and the Grammy Award-winning album The Heist (2012). Macklemore and Lewis' single "Thrift Shop" reached at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2013. The single was premiered on commercial radio by radio personality Jay Postal on September 2, 2012, and was soon dubbed the first song since 1994 to top the Hot 100 chart without the support of a major record label by Billboard, although Macklemore, in a slightly unusual recording contract, pays a nominal percentage of sales to use Warner Bros. Records’ radio promotion department to push his singles. Their second single, "Can't Hold Us" also peaked at number one of the Hot 100 Chart, making Macklemore and Lewis the first duo in the chart's history to have their first two singles both reach the peak position. Macklemore and Lewis released their debut studio album The Heist on October 9, 2012, which charted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200. The pair was nominated for seven Grammy awards at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, winning four awards, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Album (The Heist), Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance ("Thrift Shop"). Bieber's current manager, Scooter Braun, first discovered him through his YouTube videos in 2007. Braun, as noted, was impressed with the videos resulting in contacting Bieber's mother, Patricia Mallette, about wanting to work with his musical abilities. Moreover, him having convinced his mother, Braun arranged for Bieber to meet with singer-songwriter, Usher, in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result, Bieber was signed to RBMG, a record label based in Atlanta, then to Island Records -- part of Def Jam Records -- with a recording contract offered by a prominent record executive, L.A. Reid. He released his debut EP, My World, in November 2009. It has been certified platinum in the United States. He became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Bieber released his first full-length studio album, My World 2.0, in March 2010. It debuted at or near number one in several countries and was certified platinum in the United States. It was preceded by the single, "Baby", which is also, as of July 2014, the YouTube video with the most dislikes, and the most views on a Vevo platform. He followed up the release of his debut album with his first headlining tour, the My World Tour, the remix album titled, My Worlds Acoustic, and Never Say Never – The Remixes, and the 3D biopic-concert film Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. Bieber released his second studio album, Under the Mistletoe, in November 2011 when it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Bieber released his third studio album, Believe, in June 2012. He has received numerous industry awards, including both Artist of the Year Awards at the 2010 American Music Awards, and the 2012 American Music Awards. He has been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards. With his growing national and international fan base, they have been dubbed "beliebers" who largely consist of early to mid-adolescent women. He has millions of "followers" on Twitter and other social media accounts. He has been listed three times by Forbes magazine as one of the top ten most powerful celebrities in the world in 2011, 2012, and 2013. - Wikipedia Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 2010 11 One Time -1- 2010 71 Love Me -PS- 2010 62 One Less Lonely Girl -2- 2010 76 Favorite Girl -PS- 2010 03 Baby (Justin Bieber Feat. He was born and brought up in Croydon, South London; his parents divorced when he was four, and his mother worked three jobs to make ends meet. While still in his early teens, he suffered from depression and alcoholism, before discovering music. At the age of 15 he formed the rock band the Lost Audio with his brother, guitarist Alex, and toured the country before Alex developed a hearing problem and had to give up performing. Ben decided to audition for The X Factor; at the time he was working as a van driver, singing to passers-by on the street. From his first performance on the show, Simon Cowell was a vocal supporter, expressing surprise that he didn't already have a record deal. With his boyish good looks, down-to-earth personality, and powerful, versatile voice, Haenow was an early favorite to win, and eventually triumphed with 57% of the public vote. In traditional X Factor fashion, his debut single, a cover of OneRepublic's "Something I Need," was released in late December and became the U.K.'s Christmas number one, beating Mark Ronson's hotly anticipated comeback single "Uptown Funk" to the top spot. Shortly thereafter, on his 30th birthday, Haenow unsurprisingly signed to Cowell's Syco label and began work on his debut album, which was expected to be released some time in 2015. - iTunes Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): Ben Haenow 2014 01 Something I Need -1- 2015 21 Second Hand Heart (Ben Haenow Feat. So glad "Lean On" is finally out. If it stayed for another week, we'd have Triplo. Shame "Shut Up + Dance" is out though but let's hope "Different Colors" becomes a smash

I've been meaning to check out Bieber's album but listening to the Chart Show will do instead for now.
Delighted 'Eyes Shut' just about snuck in! Been playing it loads over the last few months and it hasn't nearly got old yet. Wonderful track. |

A big tumble for Half The World Away. Hoping it can climb back and go top 10!

'Can't Feel My Face' is a great song, but overplay has absolutely ruined it and I doubt I can ever find enjoyment from it again.
It doesn't help that Capital are still rinsing it dry. |

Oops at the Aurora drop, it's clearly not a relatively popular John Lewis ad song
