I predict if England do well, "Three Lions" is set for a top 40 placing.
No doubt RHCP will be #1 and I suspect with an easy 50k+. I'm With You from 2011 sold 71,858 which was a large drop from their usual standards but I don't seem to recall all that much hype for that album whereas this album seems to have a lot more, so I can't see their sales tailing off much more. I personally hope they can hold on for a second week too given the quiet release schedule, but with Glastonbury and the fact their I'm With You had a percentage drop of almost 70% to 22,340 makes me doubtful.
Busy week for albums in general, I imagine Jake Bugg and Laura Mvula's albums are big contenders for the Top 10; I'm sure Radiohead will return there; Christine & The Queens may reach there too if they hold up, or maybe they'll sell enough from this boost to remain Top 10 regardless. Then there's Father's Day boosts - perhaps a rise for Paul Simon (is he Father's Day material?).
That first sentence seems to relate to last week's topic
Kungs for #1 & Sigala for top 10 but little other interest whatsoever for me this week.
Strange to think the Chili's haven't missed the #1 in almost 20 years and certainly they aren't slowing down that streak anytime soon. I'll give this a listen but im not expecting it to be better than Stadium Arcadium was
Kungs 4 #1 please. Drake's isn't half as bad for me anymore but it's time for a PHRESH #1 *.*
Nothing says ~PHRESH~ more than a 10-weeker at #1 getting yet another week.
but yeah I seriously hope Kungs does it this week.
Singles wise... surely the #1 is up for grabs, I do feel Drake's reign is over now, let Kungs dominate the top spot for the next 8 weeks... summer choon
I think the top 4 albums will be as
1 RHCP
2 Mumford & Sons
3 Jake Bugg
4 Radiohead
As all 4 acts are showcasing at Glastonbury next weekend actually from 22 June (Weds).
5 Laura Mvula
Bit of a clearout inside the top 10 album chart, not sure where Rick Astley will plummet to.
I just hope Christine & The Queens album gets a nice high peak, top 10 will be great.
=====
On a different note just checked Radio 1 schedule for Friday, we do have a chart show at the usual time with Dev.
Albums should be interesting this week. RCP, Mumford and Jake Bugg releasing as well as a physical from Radiohead, so am expecting decent sales of at least 30k+ for the Top 4.
Very competitive in the Album chart this week.
Red Hot Chili Peppers should make it to the Top comfortably, predicting Radiohead for number 2.
Mumford & Son is more of an EP, only £3.99 on iTunes - a bit hard to predict where it will end up.
Beyoncé's Lemonade Album should get a nice boost from a Sky Atlantic Programme tonight.
Mumfords EP is 5 track so non elegible
rule out that 11th week for drake at your own peril~
massively 'staning' kungs for #1 this week ~ just hope 'this girl' hasn't run out of steam
I love One Dance but something please needs to knock it off #1 now!
So many good albums being released this week that basically could have gauaranteed themselves a #1 if they hadn't all released together - Expecting a decent start for Mford & Sons due to the £3.99 price point.
Anyone still thinks he wont surpass Bryan Adams?
I've been floating this for a few weeks now and I'm increasingly confident I'm right.
By that you mean 16 weeks at #1? Well that's still over a month away and month is a LONG time
Christine and the Queens - Tilted could realistically enter low top 40 considering it's maintained a top 20 placing for a day and a half and is now comfortable at 15 even after the Graham effect wearing off.
Is they release a video then the Bieber mix this song will beat Bryan Adams record.
They need to hurry up and release the video/Bieber remix then if they want to go on and break some more records. I think last week was really clinging on, unless something else happens with "One Dance" this week, I think it'll be dethroned in the UK at least. Shame as it'll possibly get another non-consecutive week or two back at the summit once video/Bieber remix are pushed.
I'm not sure if the Justin remix *will* get a release or not, there was a Hotline Bling remix with him on too and to my knowledge, it never got released. Either way, as much as I love Justin, I hope it doesn't happen, at least not yet.
Now that One Dance has already matched Umbrella's record for longest running #1 of the 21st century it might as well go all the way and stay there for another month just because
Let's put it this way, One Dance is not going anywhere that fast, probably stick around inside the top 10 for another 6 to 8 weeks, I'm sure the track will be in the singles Xmas chart and its not even the biggest selling single of the year so far... but its getting there.
I do think we need something fresh at the top now, I'm sure most of us got sick of Bryan Adams and Wet Wet Wet in the end. I'm pretty sure we are going to get more tracks hogging the top spot for a while at some point, the music industry is changing all the time.
We're looking at the second track to spend a whole year in the top 40 in one run I reckon.
Yeah I give it another 3/4 years and we could be having about 7/8 #1s per year so wonder what the reactions will be like here then!
Thinking Out Loud, outrageously...
Could be a bit too premature to say One Dance will spend a whole year in the top 40, I remember people said the same about What Do You Mean? and that's "already" long gone Thinking Out Loud was an exceptional case really because it took off as an album track, then got pushed as a single later on in its run, so its sales were diluted over a lengthy period of time.
Any word on where Rick Astley & Tom Odell currently stand?
If we had any info, it would be posted!
He's never gonna give the promo up, is he?
Just heard that Calum Scott song for the first time, it's great, I hope it gets a chart play.
I wonder where Christine & The Queens will land on Friday (albums?) She's #1 on iTunes AND Amazon, which is quite staggering from just one (amazing) performance on Norton.
Calum Scott for Top 15 this week please - Now he's signed to Capitol Records they are really pushing the song and released a video last week. It's had a decent chart run but would love to see it become a proper hit and it's currently Top 10 on iTunes.
Hope Sigma/Take That return to the Top 40 this week too on the back of the (rather fantastic) remix EP and the 59p price reduction.
Very much expecting an 11th week for Drake since he seems to be higher on iTunes than he was during last week! I don't really follow the Spotify chart though so idk.
Yeah an 11th week looks likely now. One step closer to the record. No one is going to knock him off anytime shortly. JT and Kungs both have had their chances.
Looks like Tinie Tempah's new song will miss the top 40 because no one will move on from "Girls Like". And if Drake makes it 11 weeks at the top, it could be the first #1 to sell under 60k chart sales
Yeah for Drake to have another month or more at the top he'll need to stay around 55-60k.
I really hope Drake is dethroned this week.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers should easily get the number 1 album. Great to have them back.
Just came across a couple of mint royale twitter updates:
"Poor old Jakey Buggy, miles behind the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Radiohead. Good chance Astley will top him as well"
"Christine And The Queens' album is going top 10 this week! Very deserved, but why's that suddenly clicked?"
Christine and the Queens is in the top10?
Oh my god, I'd be so happy for her!
Rick seems to be holding up quite well, better than some Predicted. The big drop will probably be next week after Glastonbury (when some that are performing pass him).
I think Rick will hold up well this week and in a 'normal' week could have challenged for a 2nd week at the top, The media have gone wild for him getting the #1 plus his lottery performance seemed to give him a huge boost - The album went to #4 on iTunes after and the single went Top 70.
Drake has already beat the record for lowest #1 paid-for sales anyway. He sold just 13,152 copies last week.
As for combined sales, the last time we saw a #1 with less than 60k was Justin Bieber's 'What Do You Mean', which spent its last 2 weeks at #1 with sales of 51k and 47k.
Update incoming
We have mids, the good new Kungs are #1 and the bad news, not much of a sales gap hopefully a co-mod will be on the case pretty soon.
I am expecting a drop for Rick Astley but as i mentioned last week i would be just thrilled if Rick can achieve a second week in the top 10.
Omg you guys gotta see the album update!

Fully expecting Drake to be #1 this week now seeing those sales. It's never gonna happen for Kungs is it?
I'm sure Red Hot Chili Peppers will regain the top spot by the end of the week but that's such a crazy prospect of Radiohead returning to #1 after dropping so low.
Interesting that the Mumford & Sons EP is appearing after it was concluded on here that 5-track EPs are chart ineligible, apparently according to OCC rules. Perhaps it'll disappear by tomorrow (if we get an update that is)?
I am delighted to see Sigma and Take That climbing yet again this week, a top 40 return would be so welcomed. Based on the chart information we now have it looks likely Drake is going to be number 1 again this week which I don’t welcome.
The album chart has really shocked me. I expected the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to be comfortably ahead for the number 1 album and that looks unlikely now. Radiohead are doing very well with this album when we consider it had previous download sales of 70,000 plus. This battle could heat up through the week. As Radiohead already reached number 1 I am all for The Red Hot Chilli Peppers going number 1 this week.
Rick Astley has held up wonderfully well, I did not expect him to sell even 10,000 this week for the whole week and he has passed that already. His second week fall won’t be as dramatic as many would have predicted and is second week sales will also be very respectable.
Surprising to see Radiohead at the top of the Album Chart. However, as it has all been out for 6 weeks all ready as Download-only I suspect there will be quite some fans that have obtained the Download from a source that is not chart-eligible and have been waiting for the CD.
I can see it being more front-loaded and accruing fewer streams this week than Red Hot Chili Peppers so wouldn't say it is a foregone conclusion yet even though the gap is 4.5k.
I think I read that the Neales single won't be available in Tesco after Father's Day, so perhaps its current sales are more or less all it will get now this week.
6 The Neales - I'll Be There [!!!!!!!!]
OH MY god if this is top 10 this week I'll laugh so hard.
I'm gobsmacked at The Neales... top 10
Poor Kungs though could miss out on that #1
Shocked Radiohead are at Number 1 on the albums! It could be a close one come the end of the week! Looks like Jake Bugg will finish up with sales simular to Tom Odell last week.
So pleased that Adele and Calum Scott are Top 20 also good to see Sigma/Take That creeping back in at #36 - The price reduction came at the right time!
Fair play to The Neales - Their physical sales must be huge! They was on a Tesco tour and as the CD is only a £1 I guess it's easy for people to buy one almost without thinking about it.
A lot of these albums I'm guessing will drop throughtout the week, got the boost because of Father's Day.
Great! So Drake has increased his sales from last week for no reason
Barely any streaming counted for there so all those new/re-entries will likely take a large tumble.
Nailed on for Drake already there, the market is so open right now for a song to come out of nowhere & smash in at #1 even with hampered streaming!
Very impressed by radiohead
NOW 94 track list is due out in two weeks and could end up being #1-less if Drake carries on at the top
Cmon Take That and Sigma!
Yeah sadly Sigma have never been a streaming fave, they were of course denied a #1 with Glitterball, lost out on a top 5 with Higher & again with Cry!
Drake's weekly direct debit to the Official Charts Company hasn't hit the bank account yet but the payment should be received by Friday.
Drake, putting food on the OCC's table since April 2016!
poor brave kungs ~ it's looking increasingly likely he's going to get stuck behind drake until his chance has passed
omg @ radiohead ~ 1-4-18-29-53-85-1- would be quite the chart run *.
Streaming is killing Sigma and Take That. Cry is selling well in paid for sales but losing out to streaming.
Dare I ask where Beverley Knight and Garbage have got to in the albums please
Big drop for Beverley Knight, it appears this album may struggle to match the sales of her previous album which was shy of 35,000 in total.
In regards to Beverley Knight, she's actually holding up so much better than I anticipated. I certainly didn't expect her to hold onto a Top 10 placing last week, with similar sales to her previous opening tally in 2011, and I thought she'd plummet outside the Top 40 this week yet she's currently as high as #26, despite Father's Day boosts and a selection of new entries ahead. I suspect she'll still struggle to hit 20k but I definitely underestimated her.
I know Beverley Knight is touring, probably that's why she is holding up, she even got a gig in Hythe... well Kent, last weekend.

Radiohead increasing their lead, looking good for them now.
Beverley knights album is radio 2 album of the week
Take That still in the top 40, a climb is certain now for this week.
I am more than a bit surprised with Radiohead extending the lead. I now fully realise Red Hot Chilli Peppers will miss out on the number 1 position. Rick Astley is starting to look more and more likely of remaining top 3 this week which is wonderful.
If Beverley Knight can remain top 30 i would be delighted and i hope the fact she is radio 2 album of the week should help her achieve that.
drake has that 11th week @ #1 on lock~
fingers crossed the mighty sigala can hang on for a top10 placing on Friday~
Christine looks like she could be safe for a Top 10 placing - I can only see Drake and Beyonce as potentially overtaking. There is, in fact, a good chance the Top 10 could all clear 10k.
Chainsmokers position?
May I also request positions for This One's For You & Controlla? Thnx.
Those singles sales are going to be ugly.
Early update coming up, Kungs is less than 300 copies ahead 289 to be exact Joe is on the case.

Drake will get the lowest selling #1 of the week so far as I doubt he'll pass 60k
who is this moderator that is always deleting my comments - i replied to Hadji with "get you" meaning he has now clarified his statement and by me saying "get you" i mean i now understand what he was saying.
geeeeeeeezz
Yeh something will surely be released and jump in at no1 soon!?
Rick Astley looks set to have more longevity than anyone suspected. Unless Jake Bugg has massive streaming sales that's missing, then he's quite easily staying top three as his lead keeps increasing.
Great achievement for Radiohead to be back at #1! Really hope Adele and Calum Scott stay Top 20 - Would also like to see The Neales manage it too!
Take That still in there
I cant see the top 3 albums changing. Rick Astley will come close to 20,000 which is about 5 times higher than i thought he would achieve in his second week but i am delighted with the outcome.
I remain surprised with Radiohead outselling Red Hot Chilli Peppers when considering the sales Radiohead have already achieved. I wonder how many people downloaded the Radiohead album in week 1 are now also purchasing the actual cd on its week 1 release as i would believe there would be a lot.
Does anyone know where are Perfect Strangers and Don't Mind please?
they're both in the top 45, seems unlikely that either of them will make the top 40 this week though.
Where is tom odell in albums?
The repeak on King of Limbs was due to the special edition being shipped... We're a loyal bunch us Radiohead fans and will happily shell out £50 on their super deluxe editions, it wouldn't surprise me if they are the most successful band in terms of sales for those type of editions. The super deluxe for A Moon Shaped Pool doesn't ship until September so it will be interesting to see how that affects it in the chart, it's likely to have another spike in sales.
Who the hell is buying Rick Astley ?
So surprised at his second week sales !!!
Fair play to Rick Astley most other weeks this year he would be on his way to a 2nd week at #1! He seems to have tapped into the powerful silent tribe of CD shoppers that continue to give the likes of Eva Cassidy etc, big sellers but seem to go unnoticed.
some of us also said Rick was not gonna drop much on week 2, think people expecting a 1-29 fall were delusional sorry
While i did not expect a 1-29 drop i had feared a 1-14-40-74 style chart run so i am thrilled to be see how wrong i am.
There has been so much feel good press regarding Rick as the unexpected comeback king that I suspected her would hang around for a while - I do think the album will suddenly drop off quite quickly but it's also the kind of album that with a few well placed TV performances for a follow up single will see it get a surge in sales - Incredible for him though that he's likely to be silver by next week!
Okay, this is relation to next week's chart, but Adele should experience an even greater boost following her Glastonbury performance as her album will finally be available on Spotify!

I actually think holding the album back on Spotify, putting the singles on as you release them... and then adding the album a few months later is really smart and wise strategy. Beyonce did it with her last album and I wish she was doing it this time round.
Drake is #1 by 300 copies ahead will he get a 12th week

Wonderful to see Take That still showing a top 40 position. Rick Astley should re4ach 21,000 sales which is highly impressive for a week 2 tally.
Will Mumford and Sons remain on the chart officially on Friday??
I would be delighted if Laura Mvula can hold a top 20 position, initially i had thought she would reach top 10 status, top 20 will have to do for now on this occasion.
Where is "Tears" by Clean Bandit?
Really hope Into You can make the top 25 play zone
Is it pretty a given he will pass Bryan Adams now?
Still needs another 6 weeks after this to do it mind. He'll get around 55k this week.
It is far from a given at this stage, sales are low and any new release could pop up and snatch the #1!
Gotta love the streaming force of Drake. How it's even possible that other songs are so far behind it in streaming after all these weeks!? It clearly hits all the right demographics
Major Lazer will get the number one after Drake I believe. I hope they release soon.
