"Sucker" sounds like a DNCE track. Don't mind it! Still no "Cake By The Ocean" or "Jealous" though. "Jealous"
"7 Rings" meh! |

He rose to fame in October 2012 when he was featured on Disclosure's breakthrough single "Latch", which peaked at number eleven on the UK Singles Chart. His subsequent feature—on Naughty Boy's "La La La"—earned him his first number one single in May 2013. In December 2013, he was nominated for the 2014 Brit Critics' Choice Award and the BBC's Sound of 2014 poll, both of which he won. He released his debut studio album, In the Lonely Hour, in May 2014 on Capitol Records UK. The lead single, "Lay Me Down", was released prior to "La La La". The second single, "Money on My Mind", became his second number one single in the UK. The album's third single, "Stay with Me", was an international success, reaching number one in the UK and number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, while the fourth single "I'm Not the Only One" reached the top five in both countries. The fifth single, "Like I Can", reached number nine in the United Kingdom. He made his United States debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, followed by a performance on Saturday Night Live in March 2014. In December 2014, Smith was nominated for six Grammy Awards, and at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2015 he won four: Best New Artist, "Stay with Me" for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and In the Lonely Hour for Best Pop Vocal Album. At the 2015 Brit Awards, he won the awards for British Breakthrough Act and Global Success. At the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, Smith received three Billboard Awards: Top Male Artist, Top New Artist, and Top Radio Songs Artist. His musical achievements have also led him to be mentioned twice in the Guinness World Records. For his and Jimmy Napes' song "Writing's on the Wall", the theme for the James Bond film Spectre (2015), Smith won the Golden Globe Award and the Academy Award for Best Original Song. His second studio album, The Thrill of It All, was released in November 2017, and debuted atop the UK Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200. The lead single, "Too Good at Goodbyes", reached number one in the UK and Australia and number four in the US. - Wikipedia Normani Singer, songwriter, and dancer Normani gained fame as a member of the platinum pop group Fifth Harmony prior to duetting with Khalid on the 2018 Top 40 hit "Love Lies." Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Normani Kordei Hamilton was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana until 2005, when Hurricane Katrina prompted her family to move to Houston, Texas. Normani had been performing for several years when, in 2012, she competed on the second season of The X Factor USA, which led to the formation of Fifth Harmony. The group's albums Reflection (2015), 7/27 (2016), and Fifth Harmony (2017) all debuted within the Top 10, and the first two went platinum, making them one of the biggest pop acts of the 2010s. The year the self-titled album was released, Normani also appeared in the video for Khalid's "Young Dumb & Broke." Shortly thereafter, Khalid and Normani co-wrote and recorded the pop-R&B ballad "Love Lies" for the soundtrack of Love, Simon. Released on RCA in February 2018, the song peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 four months later at number 34. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Sam Smith 2012 11 Latch (Disclosure feat. Decent chart run for Sam/Normani. Feels weird seeing him not get to number 1 with a lead (or is it a lead?)
I don't love it but I do like it. It's a nice listen though it also doesn't really go anywhere. |

Prefer this Ariana track to "7 Rings", though don't like its message to young women. "Thank U, Next" is the best of the 3 from this era... still all pale in comparison to many of her previous singles.

Mabel Don't Call Me Up 4th single from Ivy To Roses Released: 18th January 2019 Label: Polydor Records Chart Statistics NE (31/01/2019) | 11-7-5-5-5-5-3-3 Sales: 200k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 04 Sales 04 Audio Streaming 11 Video Streaming Video Biography Like the music of her mother and father -- Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey -- Mabel McVey's first releases weren't easy to classify, but were rooted in R&B with a level of maturity beyond her age. Born in Spain and raised in London and Sweden, McVey showed a deep interest in music during early childhood and studied music production. Her parents didn't know that she was writing music until she was 16. Before she turned 20, she released her debut single, the independently released "Know Me Better" -- a moody, yearning piece of breakbeat soul. Signed to Polydor, she had her second single, "My Boy My Town," out by the end of 2015. Shortly after that, she was nominated in the BBC Sound of 2016 poll (won by Jack Garratt). In 2017, she delivered the mixtape Ivy to Roses, which included the single "Finders Keepers," featuring Kojo Funds. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History 2017 08 Finders Keepers (feat. Calvin Harris and Rag'n'Bone Man Giant Fourth single from sixth studio album Released: 11th January 2019 Label: Sony Music Entertainment UK Rag'n'Bone Man supercharges Calvin’s return to the dance floor. - iTunes Chart Statistics NE (24/01/2019) | 7-5-4-4-6-4-2-2-2 Sales: 300k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 01 Sales 02 Audio Streaming 03 Video Streaming Video Biography Calvin Harris Adam Richard Wiles (born 17 January 1984), known professionally as Calvin Harris, is a Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His debut studio album I Created Disco was released in June 2007 and it spawned two UK top 10 singles "Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls". In 2009, Harris released his second studio album Ready for the Weekend, which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and was later certified gold by the BPI. Its lead single "I'm Not Alone" became his first song to top the UK Singles Chart. Harris rose to international prominence with the release of his third studio album 18 Months in October 2012. Topping the UK charts, the album became his first to chart on the US Billboard 200 chart. All eight of the album's singles, including "Feel So Close", "Sweet Nothing" and "I Need Your Love" reached the top 10 in the UK. At the time, Harris broke the record for the most top 10 songs from one studio album on the UK Singles Chart with eight entries, surpassing Michael Jackson. Harris released his fourth studio album Motion in November 2014. It debuted at number two in the UK and at number five in the US and became Harris's second consecutive number one album on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Harris has collaborated with numerous other recording artists. His collaboration with Rihanna "We Found Love" became an international success, giving Harris his first number one single on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. In October 2014, he became the first artist to place three songs simultaneously on the top 10 of Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart. He also became the first British solo artist to reach more than one billion streams on Spotify. Harris has received ten Brit Award nominations—three for Best British Male and four Grammy nominations, winning a Grammy for Best Music Video in 2013. He received the British Academy's Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year in 2013 and at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards was named Top Dance/Electronic Artist. One of the most successful musicians in contemporary British popular culture, Harris appeared on Debrett's 2017 list of the most influential people in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Harris topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid DJs for five consecutive years from 2013 to 2017. Harris runs his own record label, Fly Eye Records. - Wikipedia Rag'n'Bone Man Neo-blues & soul singer Rory Graham was born and raised in the small town of Uckfield in the southeast of England. Growing up on early blues and soul, he taught himself to sing by mimicking Muddy Waters, before discovering hip-hop. Starting out as an MC with a local drum'n'bass crew at age 15, he progressed to hip-hop open-mike nights in nearby Brighton, where he later moved, teaming up with local hip-hop crew the Rum Committee. At the same time, he continued to practice singing in private. At 19, he took part in a blues open-mike night at the encouragement of his father, and the rapturous response to his singing boosted his confidence enough to make him consider it as a career rather than rapping. Graham's Rag 'n' Bone Man moniker came from his childhood memories of sitting in front of the TV with his grandfather, watching repeats of the British '60s sitcom Steptoe and Son, about a pair of rag-and-bone men -- dirt-poor street collectors who in bygone days gathered up rubbish in an attempt to find useful rags, bones, and scrap metal that could be sold to merchants for a few pennies. With his massive bulk, tattoo-covered arms, nose ring, shaved head, enormous beard, and typical garb of hoodie and jeans, Graham looked like an escapee from an early-2000s nu-metal band, but he blew crowds away as soon as he opened his mouth with his deep, powerful, soulful, bluesy vocals. He released his debut EP, Bluestown, in 2012, followed by several EPs over the next few years, with 2014's Wolves and 2015's Disfigured standing out. Graham's early releases were more acoustic, but he evolved toward a more electronic sound with hip-hop-styled beats. In 2013, he signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell, which enabled him to give up his day job as a caregiver for people with Asperger's syndrome. His increasing profile brought him to the attention of Columbia Records, which signed him in 2016. His debut single for Columbia, "Human," dropped in September of that year and was a big hit in several European countries. His first full-length effort (also entitled Human) saw release in early 2017. That same year, Graham was honored with two Brit Awards for British Breakthrough Act and the Choice Award. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Calvin Harris 2007 10 Acceptable In The 80s -1- 2007 03 The Girls -2- 2007 43 Merrymaking At My Place -3- 2008 01 Dance Wiv Me (Dizzee Rascal feat. Lewis Capaldi Someone You Loved 3rd single from BREACH and 5th single from Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent Released: 8th November 2018 Label: Vertigo Berlin Chart Statistics NE (22/11/2018) | 100-x RE (17/01/2019) | 66-29-13-10-9-3-3-1-1-1 Sales: 300k+ Certification: Silver Status: Standard Chart Ratio 02 Sales 01 Audio Streaming 07 Video Streaming Video Biography Scottish singer/songwriter Lewis Capaldi began creating a buzz in early 2017 with the release of his debut single, "Bruises," a brooding exploration of a failed relationship that introduced his intimate piano and vocal sound. On the strength of his lone single, the Bathgate native sold out legendary Glasgow club King Tut's and notched millions of streams before dropping his follow-up single, the equally stark "Lost on You," later that summer. After signing with Virgin Records, Capaldi included both songs on his debut EP, Bloom, and capped off his banner year with a Scottish Music Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. The front half of 2018 was spent touring in North America and Europe in advance of his next single, "Rush," featuring Jessie Reyez. "Tough" followed a few months later. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History 2018 21 Grace -2- 2018 01 Someone You Loved -3- 2019 56 Bruises -1- _______________________________________________________________ Social Media Lewis Capaldi |

I was listening to Calvin's singles, productions and remixes the other day on shuffle and "Merrymaking At My Place" came on - don't think I realised at the time how diabolically awful it was, especially the clean version

Sofía Reyes featuring Rita Ora and Anitta R.I.P. 2nd single from second studio album Released: 15th March 2019 Label: Warner Music Latina Video Biography Mexico's Sofia Reyes is a vibrant multilingual pop vocalist with a bent toward mixing dance-oriented pop, reggaeton, R&B, and acoustic balladry. Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico in 1995, Reyes began singing and playing piano around age ten. Two years later she was writing songs with her father and uploading cover songs to YouTube. Her videos captured the attention of singer/producer Prince Royce, who signed her to his D'Leon Records imprint. In 2013 she released her first single, "Forever Now," featuring rapper/singer/actor Khleo Thomas. A year later Reyes returned with the song "'Muevelo," featuring rapper Wisin. In 2016 Reyes dropped two more singles, "Sólo Yo"/"Nobody But Me" (once again featuring Prince Royce) and "Llegaste Tú" (featuring Reykon), while also making guest appearances on releases by Cash Cash ("How to Love") and Spencer Ludwig ("Diggy"). Reyes' long-awaited debut album, Louder!, was released in early 2017 by Warner Music Latina. The next year, she issued "Vamos por la Estrella" with Paty Cantú and Kap G. The buoyant single was written for the Mexican national soccer team and their entry in the 2018 World Cup. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History Sofía Reyes 2019 __ R.I.P. Next week's contender?
HRVY Told You So 3rd single from first studio album Released: 15th March 2019 Label: Virgin EMI Records Video Biography Pop/R&B vocalist HRVY was born Harvey Cantwell in Kent, England in 1999. Like many starry-eyed youngsters, Cantwell started out mimicking pop stars as a child, pretending to be Michael Jackson or Justin Timberlake while singing for his parents. In his teenage years he was encouraged by friends to upload videos of his performances to Facebook, and in 2013, with the help of manager Blair Dreelan (former vocalist of pop group East 17), he was soon performing live and quickly signing with Universal Music. HRVY's first single, "Thank You," was released in late 2013 and became a huge hit. Among various tours, appearances, single releases, and other pop star activities, Cantwell appeared occasionally as a guest presenter on BBC television show Friday Download, and signed on as a full-time host in 2016. He regularly uploaded videos to his YouTube channel, including frequent cover songs and collaborations with other pop stars. In 2017 he released his Holiday EP, which included the hit single "Phobia," among other tracks. HRVY scored another hit in November of that year with "Personal" from his second EP, Talk to Ya. In April 2018, he found crossover success with "Hasta Luego," a Latin single he recorded with Cuban-American singer Malu Trevejo. Another solo single, "I Wish You Were Here," appeared in September of that year. - iTunes _______________________________________________________________ Top 100 Chart History 2018 62 Personal -1- 2018 70 Hasta Luego (HRVY & Malu Trevejo) -1- 2019 __ Told You So -2- _______________________________________________________________ Social Media HRVY |
