The final cut featured most of the notable hits of the era, but there were some omissions. A lot of mainstream electronic music was left out of this volume including hits from Avicii, Sub Focus, Far East Movement, LMFAO and Skrillex. There was also no room for the likes of John Legend, Olly Murs, Lana Del Rey, Nelly Furtado and Jennifer Lopez to name a few others. This volume would though be the only one in the series to feature music from DBanj, Alex Clare (as a lead artist), Tulisa (as a solo artist), Loreen, Azealia Banks, Sway and Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band. Artwork Rating: 2/10 Awful Well I dont know what they were thinking of when the drew up the blueprints for this design. A few wavy banners caught in the winds? Its just very unattractive and I dont know what they were going for here, if it had any connection with the upcoming London Olympics that year, but its one of the poorest designs in the whole series. Disc 1 Favourite: Rudimental feat. John Newman Feel The Love The first time hearing from both of these artists, and it was a match made in heaven. Rudimental bringing commercial drum and bass to the masses and new British singer John Newman gaining appeal which would go on to get him more hits in the future, along with attention from other major dance producers too. Disc 2 Favourite: David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj Turn Me On Its got to be my favourite song from his album Nothing But The Beat And probably my favourite Nicki Minaj feature on any song. I heard this many months before it peaked and recall how much I wanted it to be a huge hit and make it onto one of these compilations, and I was so glad it did! Disc 3 Tracklist: (A concept of what a third disc might look like if other hits from the era were used) 1. John Legend Ordinary People 4:41 {4} 2. Usher Climax 3:52 {4} 3. Dot Rotten feat. TMS Overload 3:05 {15} 4. Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull Dance Again 3:57 {11} 5. LMFAO Sorry For Party Rocking 3:23 {23} 6. DJ Fresh feat. Dizzee Rascal The Power 2:47 {6} 7. Skrillex feat. Sirah Bangarang 3:35 {24} 8. Matrix & Futurebound feat. Luke Bingham All I Know 3:15 {29} 9. Sub Focus feat. Alice Gold Out Of The Blue 3:18 {23} 10. Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso feat. Ryan Tedder Calling (Lose My Mind) 3:25 {19} 11. Avicii Silhouettes 3:31 {22} 12. Alexandra Burke Let It Go 3:24 {33} 13. Jason Derulo Breathing 3:54 {25} 14. Far East Movement feat. Justin Bieber Live My Life 3:59 {7} 15. Professor Green feat. Ruth Anne Remedy 3:15 {18} 16. Breathe Carolina Blackout 3:30 {21} 17. Alex Day Lady Godiva 2:26 {15} 18. Olly Murs Oh My Goodness 3:07 {13} 19. Kylie Minogue Timebomb 2:57 {31} 20. The Vaccines If You Wanna 2:54 {35} 21. Lady Antebellum Need You Now 3:56 {15} 22. Lana Del Rey Blue Jeans 3:29 {32} 23. Muse Survival 4:17 {22} ---------- Total time: 1:19:57 Overall Rating: 7/10 Very Good I was very pleased with this volume, despite its horrendous artwork. The quality is clearly visible in the majority of songs being Top 20 hits, and the fact that the majority of available disc space was used to ensure maximum quality and quantity. There isnt a great deal I would change in terms of omissions, but I guess that goes to prove how much music was in the charts during this summer. It was a good year of music overall, and this volume epitomises that. Andrew's Best 5 (as of April 2018) 1. David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj Turn Me On 2. Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo Lets Go 3. Rudimental feat. John Newman Feel The Love 4. DJ Fresh feat. Rita Ora Hot Right Now 5. Azealia Banks feat. Lazy Jay 212 Andrew's Worst 5 (as of April 2018) 1. Ed Sheeran Small Bump 2. B.o.B. So Good 3. Jason Mraz I Wont Give Up 4. Taio Cruz There She Goes 5. Justin Bieber Boyfriend |

I've been reading this forum a while but this thread made we want to join!
This is my favourite Now CD. So many great hits and one of the few if only Now CDs where I don't mind every track and I can listen to the CD time and time again without getting bored. I don't know if anyone else can relate? My favourite five tracks: Princess Of China; We Are Young; Feel The Love; Oliver Twist & Hot Right Now Only two I don't like but can tolerate a listen: Small Bump & Laserlight |

Disc One
1. Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa Payphone 3:52 {1} 2. Coldplay & Rihanna Princess Of China 3:37 {4} 3. Rita Ora feat. Tinie Tempah R.I.P. 3:47 {1} 4. Train Drive By 3:20 {6} Disc Two 1. David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj Turn Me On 3:21 {8} 2. Usher Scream 3:55 {5} 3. DJ Fresh feat. Rita Ora Hot Right Now 3:00 {1} 4. Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo Lets Go 3:46 {2} 5. will.i.am feat. Eva Simons This Is Love 4:07 {1} Artwork: 6/10 I preferred bubbles to ribbons Overall: 6/10 Despite there being lots of great songs on both discs, there's also a fair few songs I have never gone back to either. Climax, Dance Again, Bangarang, Calling (Lose My Mind), Silhouettes, Live My Life, Need You Now, Big Hoops (Bigger The Better), Back In Time, As Long As You Love Me, and Dark Side all should've been included I think. |
