QUOTE(Juliano @ Oct 9 2017, 04:00 PM) *
I always found Anywhere With You a highlight of Living For The Weekend, which a lot of people didn't agree with (reject Katy Perry demo my a***). Almost on a million streams on Spotify, far ahead of other album tracks! Winning! #TasteAlwaysWins. laugh.gif

This comment in the general discussion thread has really got me thinking about the general opinion on Anywhere With You. Track eight on Living For The Weekend, co-written by the girls and produced by Mollie's ex boyfriend producer who works with The Jam (production). It's definitely got it's haters and lovers so thought I'd put this up for discussion. As Juliano has said it's nearing a million streams on Spotify which isn't bad for a track that isn't exactly from a massive group nor one that has been used as a backing track on a TV show or something.

Where do you stand with Anywhere With You? Fan or hater? DISCUSS.

Hate to kick the poll off with a negative but I've NEVER been a fan of this one. I find it really cringe worthy listening to the opening few lines and Jordan's rap is just drama.gif puke.gif

It DOES sound like a Katy Perry demo, though... laugh.gif Doesn't mean it's bad.

I rather like it. It definitely was one of the best offerings from LFTW, albumtracks-wise.

For me, the only issue is Jordan's rap, if they actually managed to get a credible feature it would have worked better.

Nay. Not much of Living for the Weekend impressed me tbh. sad.gif

Kind of weird how well this song has done on Spotify though... it's fast approaching 1 million streams (significantly more than any other album track on LFTW), and is currently 10th in their popular songs list.

AWY is mediocre at best. It only sounds like a bop because it's surrounded by awful album filler tracks. As for the Spotify plays, it must be featured on some random playlist and people cba to change the song when it comes on because it's unoffensive.

In my opinion, all of the tracks after Anywhere With You on the track list shouldn't have made the album and they should have waited to recorded better ones. You Don't Have The Right is forgivable but the production needed to be better and people seem to love Don't Let Me Dance Alone and personally I don't dislike Problem With Love, but Somebody Else's Life is a mess. However, comparing all 4 tracks to the first 8 and Wildfire, they should have taken longer in the studio, a bit of Ina Wroldsen, Steve Mac, more Camille Purcell... 808 would have fit so great on the track list. 30 Days probably should have been on a On Your Radar re-release with a couple of new tracks.

I am so glad someone else agrees the end of the album is the weakest part. I cannot bear to listen to Don't Let Me Dance Alone, cringe central drama.gif

I think if they had continued working with Camille Purcell they could have had Black Magic quality material.

I agree the album falls apart after Anywhere With You. The first eight songs (Rent My Goat aside) are all really strong. I mean 5 of them are singles so it is a strong start. The back end of the album is iffy.

To the people complaining about Jordan rapping on Anywhere With You. At least he isn't credited on the album tracklist, he is just an additional vocalist in the booklet. I am sure if it was going to be a single, they would have done a new version with a different rapper.

Rent my goat? laugh.gif

That’s true I think based on 2013 trends they would have had Flo Rida again or someone lesser known.

Omg I totally forgot about Bigger, must find online to listen, I just remember Vanessa quite seductively in a low tone singing Bigger.

EDIT: After listening it's so much better than I remember, They could have easily replaced Frankies verse with Mollies, then replaced Mollies with a feature and it would have been a great album track or even single.

Take the auto-tune of Bigger and you got yourself a killer track.
