Ignore last week's haphazard update, it would appear the 'new additions' from the website update were actually meant for this week

Strange once again that they arent just upping the plays of potential hits like Major Lazer, Ellie King, X-Ambassadors, Sia & Shawn Mendes, hope they dont stall in the respective charts now.
Still dont get the month long replaylisting of Itch by Nothing but Thieves, theres alot more on nthe album that could have been playlisted plus Itch was Blisted for a fair while earlier in 2015 and it seemed to be on there for a short amount of time. |

All in all, not an exciting playlist, as it's the same as last week's incorrect playlist. But we'll get a new one on Wednesday (assuming Radio 1 still tweet their new ones).
I think Shawn will move up to A now it's confirming itself to become rather big, hoping for a Little Mix add and finally move Justin up from the C list for next week. |

Yeah, I agree with this. They could've easily dumped the likes of Adele (it's been A-listed since October ffs), Bieber, James Bay, Florence, Foo Fighters and promoted any of the above. I see they've still managed to find room to A-list 5SOS though - why the huge push? It's clear the interest isn't there this era. Hopefully next week will see a bit of a clear-out. Indeed or their annual January ad proposing to be the leader of new music will be a lie lol when Stormzy and Frances are the only NEW additions!

There's definitely a lot they need to get rid of, but then with releases slim on the ground right now, there's not a lot they can add to replace them

Disappointed to see Radio 1 snubbing 'Stand By You' following the massive success of 'Fight Song'. This is reminding me of Meghan Trainor and the way Radio 1 treated her following two high selling singles.

There'll be plenty of new music added in the coming weeks, this is more of a New Year refresh. Probably decided in a meeting before Christmas!

But hopefully for next week they'll add Ellie Goulding, Little Mix, Zara Larsson, Nero, Karen Harding etc. They may even add Rachel Platton. 'Bloodsport' on the a-list Heard it on the radio this morning and it still sounds absolutely amazing even after these few years since it premiered. Brilliant song.
Mabel still on the INMWT list.. a good sign for the BBC sound of list or is that just getting my hopes up? Does anyone know what level of support the other nominees got? |

Quite a handful of the nominees have had INMWT-level support at some point recently (Alessia, Billie, Blossoms, Dua, Izzy, Loyle, Mura, Nao, Rat Boy), I think only Jack Garratt/Frances/WSTRN have been pushed above that so far |

I'd say the rest of the nominees that haven't been playlisted at all (Section Boyz, J Hus, Loyle Carner) have been featured heavily on specialist/evening shows. |

Craig David!
Disappointed to see Radio 1 snubbing 'Stand By You' following the massive success of 'Fight Song'. This is reminding me of Meghan Trainor and the way Radio 1 treated her following two high selling singles. It impacts the 22nd January right? Still a chance it'll be playlisted next week. Hopefully its success in the US will translate to success in the UK. |

It's very strange that they've added Stormzy to the playlist, especially now that things are back to normal.
