Neither are exactly blowing my head off but enjoying the lighters in the air cosy dark night rock of Biffy's as well as the instantly anthemic pop of Becky's. The latter definitely has more interesting lyrics, about disappointing parents.

I may be struggling with the actual concept of creating a poll. It looked like I'd done it properly until I posted it. If someone could help, that would be great, because this is the debate tearing every household apart this autumn.

Biffy's is my favourite song from them since at least 2013, I think it pretty much perfects the formula of Biffy Clyro ballads. It may help that some of the lyrics hit hard on a personal level having to deal with being in a long distance relationship during COVID times. But yes, beautiful song. Becky's song is fairly good too but no competition here x
(and this marks the end of people vouching for Biffy in this thread now probably because this is BuzzJack we're on) |

Before I read the sub-heading of this thread, I thought it might be about the two groups called Space
i.e. the anonymous 1970s French band who had a hit with Magic Fly versus the less anonymous 1990s Liverpool band who gave us Female Of The Species et al. Spookily, both bands were mentioned on this very forum within the last week! Anyway, Becky's song is fine but Biffy wins easily for me. |

Biffy Clyro too
Becky's song is nice but like all her songs, it's just ok for me |

poll added.
I'll go for Becky Hill (of course). I've heard the Biffy Clyro one and it's decent by their recent standards though. |

I really like both songs, Biffy's is easily one of their best, but Becky's is probably my favourite thing I've ever heard from her, so it's a no-brainer for me. Becky FTW!

I voted for Biffy, but there was only a Rizla between them.

Like them both but Biffy’s has really struck me over the past couple of weeks. Definitely a highlight of the album and got me back into listening to it after my initial listen as I wasn’t too struck by the first two singles.

I've never really got into Biffy by the way but I do think Black Chandalier and Instant History are great. Probably Many of Horror too (or as Matt Curdle would call it, When We Collide).

^ It's not a ballad but my favourite Biffy song is 'Animal Style', love that!
