Pretty sure I know what this clear winner will be in the same vein as Wiggle last year.

57. Little Mix - Love Me Like You
21-30-32-32-28-19-13-... (7 weeks)
20 points

Little Mix have 2 appearances but somehow both of them miss the top 50. This is probably because when it comes to girlbands on BuzzJack the majority don't know how to tell the difference between a good and crap song; meaning this predictably got majorly loved, even going to #1 on the BuzzJack multichart for 2 weeks before Godele herself had had enough and demanded Her single be released for the sole purpose of removing this crap from that position. As for why Little Mix have had to descend to this standard when they previously released greats like 'Move', 'Wings', even their winner's single, I don't know. But it's not the Little Mix I want at all. It reminds me of Stooshe's 'Black Heart' in terms of production which is really not a good thing and the song just annoys me. This is now becoming a mini-essay oop, trust me not every commentary will be like this.

56. The 1975 - Love Me
20-61-75-90-x (4 weeks)
22 points

This band have actually been pretty decent in the past. Breakthrough single 'Chocolate' was really good and deservedly spent many weeks in the chart. It soon became obvious that Radio 1 were going to collectively fangirl anything they did, which led to 'Girls' becoming quite annoying through overplay (even though the song didn't even go top 40). Anyway in the end it seemed that 'Chocolate' was kind of a one-off ('Sex' was quite good too) and I was in no way hyped for their comeback. This song especially didn't exceed my expectations in terms of quality anyway. How it actually went to #1 on iTunes remains somewhat of a mystery to me still. mellow.gif

55. Birdy - Wings
16-17-39-67-x-31-8-17-22-21-29-28-55-65-36-29-19-25-41-53-53-68-69-86-90-... (24 weeks) silver.jpg
22 points

Like most of Birdy's hits, the song is quite decent for a few listens, and then gets boring as time goes by. It didn't help of course that by the time 'Wings' actually made its proper impact it was already 2 years old, so I was not at all keen on it returning bigger than ever. Fortunately this doing so well meant that it overshadowed Birdy's newer single with Rhodes although that could easily make a comeback 2 years later too. sleep.gif

54. Meghan Trainor - Like I'm Gonna Lose You (feat. John Legend)
99-x (1 week)
23 points

Meghan Trainor is definitely someone I'm not a fan of. 'All About That Bass' got annoying fast, and out of her follow ups I've only enjoyed 'Lips Are Movin' (still to come in this chart). So when it was revealed her new single would feature John Legend of all people I knew it would be awful. And thankfully it flopped here so I've never actually had to listen to it in full, but from what I've heard it sounds like another boring ballad which we really don't need. manson.gif

53. Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance
75-8-5-4-4-6-8-8-5-7-8-8-8-10-12-12-13-12-18-22-26-29-30-34-... (24 weeks) plat.jpg
34 points

Excuse me HOW IS THIS NOT HIGHER??? This is one of the most annoying songs of the year, and got 12 points from myself. It of course didn't help that it was ridiculously overexposed and in the chart for ages. It's definitely one of those songs that gets worse over time too, back when it was in BJSC I still didn't enjoy it but at least it was somewhat listenable. What's also bad is that this comes from the same band that produced 'Anna Sun', which was actually quite good. Why couldn't that have been the hit? no.gif

52. Little Mix - Black Magic
1-1-1-3-4-6-10-11-13-15-20-23-29-31-36-37-34-33-... (18 weeks) gold.jpg
35 points

I've already said what I don't like about Little Mix this year earlier so this will be quite short. 'Black Magic' however is a much bigger offender than 'Love Me Like You'. The lyrics in particular are so off-putting. I just hate the theme of falling in love via a special potion. Reminds me of kids fairytales too much. Plus the basic production really does not fit a song called 'Black Magic'. And of course the song was overhyped/exposed to the max which made me sick of it even before it was released to iTunes. sleep.gif

51. Skrillex & Diplo - Where Are Ü Now (feat. Justin Bieber)
97-90-75-63-58-45-32-18-6-7-5-3-5-4-7-11-12-20-20-23-23-23-24-26-29-31-27-33-32-39-41-43-43-45-40-47-... (36 weeks) plat.jpg
39 points

Well eventually we had to come to a song that I actually really enjoy. Who'd have thought Justin Bieber of all people would actually decide to make decent music for once? Not me, so this song came as a surprise. The drop is cool too, I like the more laidback approach as heavier trap music is generally a tad annoying. Well done Jack Ü. Or Skriplo as more people (wrongly) call them. I imagine this will be making a massive climb back into the chart this Friday too with the release of Bieber's album, so take that haters angel.gif

Ultraviolence will be counting down #50-46 ~

Posted by: Dobbo 15th November 2015, 09:47 AM

I don't mind any of those, Where Are U Now is of course the standout gem there but so far so good. No real shockers have been announced yet...

Posted by: Serg Mix 15th November 2015, 10:16 AM

Of course Little Mix is not even top50. heart.gif

Posted by: UltraChristmas 15th November 2015, 11:48 AM

Yay that neither Little Mix songs, Wings and Like I'm Gonna Lose You are top 50! The former 3 are all in my top 20 favourites this year heart.gif
Ugh at Love Me and Shut Up + Dance so low, both awful sick2.gif

Posted by: UltraChristmas 15th November 2015, 12:18 PM

50. Tom Odell- Real Love
21-7-14-19-23-31-38-45-66-X (9 Weeks)
40 Points

So I'll be starting my 2015 hatechart commentary with a song that didn't even spend a week top 40 in 2015! The John Lewis advert with Monty the Penguin (*.*) was beautiful but however for the first time in ages, they strayed from their usual formula (Female singer) and the song to go with it was dreadful (AURORA this year marks a much bigger improvement.). Tom Odell's dreary vocals make this song so boring and it was no surprise that this struggled in the chart and failed to live up to the previous successes of the John Lewis advert (Gabrielle Aplin & Lily Allen both went to #1 in the previous 2 years). The song plummeted down the chart after Christmas ended and it is still not silver certified ohmy.gif

49. Joe Weller Ft Emil- Wanna Do
28-55-88-X (3 Weeks)
40 Points

One of the about 4 benefits of streaming so far is this pile of awfulness completely bombed in the charts. This crime against music somehow went top 5 on iTunes I think (?) but fell quickly which was lucky for the safety of all our ears. I think he is a youtuber and he should stick to that tbh. I've barely heard this song since it fell out of the chart but it was so bad on its previous listens I am glad to see this make the top 50 here.

48. Charli XCX Ft Rita Ora- Doing It
8-9-17-20-31-39-40-45-56-65-86-X (11 Weeks)
silver.jpg
41 Points

This song should be top 50, actually maybe even a bit higher than that. It should be top 50 on a best songs of this year list and not a hatechart list! Doing It is a fantastic pop jam which saw Charli get a hit after the undeserved flopping of Break The Rules (which so deserved to be a top 5 smash cry.gif). Doing It features Rita Ora, on her first of many songs this year while we still wait for that 2nd album (at least she's having a better album campaign than Rihanna), who wanted the song for herself but they then decided to do a collab on it or something. The video is so fun and this spent 2 weeks top 10 and a silver certification which I'd call a pretty big success for this song *.* This is such a pop jam and it looked like it would help Charli's excellent debut album sell well, unfortunately it didn't and that flopped horrendously sad.gif

47. Usher Ft Juicy J- I Don't Mind
8-14-13-17-18-19-21-24-31-38-44-46-59-64-68-94-X (16 Weeks)
silver.jpg
41 Points

The first song I pointed, another collaboration and Cody's favourite song this year is out next! Usher can be very hit or miss for me but lately he's been a lot more miss. This is his worst song in recent years. What an awful racket with horrid near screechy vocals and I don't know how this was quite a big hit sad.gif (I actually thought it was a lot bigger and peaked top 5 as well so at least it didn't do that well). It was awful hearing this mess of a 'song' on the chart every week so it is very deserving of a place on the hatechart. Somehow something worse was released on the same week as this as Sam Smith decided to pollute our ears with a 'comic relief' version of Lay Me Torture by collaborating with the artist of the worst song of 2014 and all time to form 'Chart Murderers' and make possibly one of the worst songs of all time! Anyway more on that mess later smile.gif

46. Chris Brown- Zero
68-75-72-75-84-92-X (6 Weeks)
41 Points

I actually thought this was still charting. Boo hoo it's not. Said nobody. Anyway this is the first song in a while to not be a collaboration which is a surprise considering Chris Brown features on about a million songs per year. Anyway this was one of his about 100 terrible songs this year so it is no surprise to see at least 3 of his songs top 50 here. Tbh this isn't as bad as Ayo or Five More Hours (which I had the unpleasure of hearing in Westfields yesterday) but that's like going from a -1/10 song to a 0.5/10 song. So in other words this is the lesser of the 3 evils. This is another awful song and glad this bombed in the charts because it's so bad. Where did the good Chris Brown who made fantastic songs like Forever and No Air go? sad.gif

Posted by: JosephStyles 15th November 2015, 12:18 PM

I don't LOVE LMLY but it's clear to see why it's popular here beyond being a girlgroup song laugh.gif

Glad Black Magic and Where Are U Now are low here, the latter of course reinvigorated Justin's career heart.gif We can now forget Journals ever happened x

Real Love is a stunning track and I will not hear otherwise mad.gif

Posted by: Rob S ~ 15th November 2015, 12:19 PM

Aww LIGLY isn't that bad a song and it's the first songs she's released which shows off her vocal potential properly in my opinion but of course because John Legend is on it, why would I expect anything else heehee.gif
Actually the only song I don't care for so far is 'Love Me' but then I'm not a fan of The 1975 so meh... 'Shut Up and Dance' i have mixed feelings for, it is catchy as anything but also so geeky and irritating at the same time. drama.gif

looking forward to the next batch biggrin.gif

Posted by: Danvember 15th November 2015, 12:51 PM

glad to see Tom O'Dull in the chart even if he is as low as #50. Also don't like that Charli/Rita song, and I still haven't listened to 'Zero'. The others are good.

Definitely.. Even if it hasn't aged too well it's at least still listenable to my ears.

45. Fetty Wap - My Way (feat. Monty)
94-81-89-87-86-80-x-100-x-95-95-85-94-x (11 weeks)
43 points

Poor Fetty Wap receives too much hate on this forum. Although this song isn't up to much compared to his big top 40 hits (which sadly are yet to come). Can we just appreciate that chart run though, for a #80 peak that is very impressive. *.*

44. Deorro x Chris Brown - Five More Hours
99-95-96-88-86-4-9-11-18-21-27-31-34-37-39-44-54-55-61-66-73-90-93-100-x (24 weeks) silver.jpg
48 points

Originally just 'Five Hours' and not featuring Chris Brown, of course the song had to have a vocal in order for it to be a smash. And whilst the CB vocal wasn't as bad as I feared, it didn't live up to the original mix. Which I recommend you listen to if all you know is the Chris Brown version. Fortunately for the haters STREAMING exists so the song was spared a #1 peak (and a 1-7-12-19-21-29-35-x top 40 run which is really terrible for a #1).

43. T-Wayne - Nasty Freestyle
99-74-41-42-43-47-53-54-58-59-x-86-x (11 weeks)
48 points

I will write a commentary for this, but first let me hop out the motherf***in' Porsche. cool2.gif

42. The Weeknd - Earned It
95-76-62-41-33-18-10-4-4-5-7-9-10-11-16-22-27-31-34-39-46-47-55-59-55-53-54-70-61-74-77-87-89-87-77-75-71-82-94-86-87-97-x (42 weeks) plat.jpg
50 points

The Weeknd had been bubblin' under and about to get big for literally years and then this happened. And whilst I wasn't against the idea of him breaking through to the mainstream, I really did not like this song. It's so plodding and boring and his voice is whiny in the chorus, which led to him getting the nickname The Whineknd. Because we do top banter in the chart forum. Anyway thankfully he gave us Can't Feel My Face/The Hills which are a lot better (especially The Hills) so he won't be remembered just for this song.

41. 5 Seconds Of Summer - Hey Everybody!
49-x (1 week)
50 points

What's my favourite 5SOS song? Trick question, I still don't like any of them. And this is no exception, thankfully it flopped a lot but that didn't stop Radio 1 from playing it quite a bit so I had to hear it a few times :/ Expect the even worse 'She's Kinda Hot' to appear later on. smile.gif

'Nasty Freestyle' is quite the guilty pleasure tbh, I did enjoy it a bit ph34r.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 15th November 2015, 03:15 PM

I Don't Mind, Zero & Five More Hours are all great tracks. Not that fussed on the rest of those sections, Real Love should be waaay higher but I guess it's so old (in terms of this vote) & irrelevant everyone forgot about it.

Posted by: JosephStyles 15th November 2015, 03:17 PM

Or no-one actually dislikes it as much as you so they didn't vote for it kink.gif

Hey Everybody! is very weak for 5SOS' standards. She's Kinda Hot shouldn't even be in this list at all though.

Posted by: UltraChristmas 15th November 2015, 03:19 PM

45-43 should all be way higher but both Earned It and Hey Everybody are quite good!

Posted by: Joe. 15th November 2015, 03:21 PM

Yes, I agree 'She's Kinda Hot' is MUCH better than 'Hey Everybody', which is really lack-luster.

It's a bit unfair to say the majority of Buzzjack 'can't tell the difference between a good or crap song' just because you don't like it tongue.gif . It's clearly just a well liked song, hence why it didn't pick up any votes, I don't think it has much to do with it being a girlgroup.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 15th November 2015, 04:58 PM

Love Where Are U Now, I Dont Mind, Zero, My Way, Five More Hours and Earned It and Nasty (Freestyle) is iconic for the aforementioned line!

I'm still surprised Zero was even nominated, considering it's not exactly been 'everywhere'. Probably only because it's by Chris Brown to be honest. If another R&B artist had done that song, it'd be nowhere near this countdown.

The songs by Little Mix, Charlie XCX and Meghan Trainor should have finished higher.

Posted by: Mack 15th November 2015, 07:19 PM

Don't mind Where Are U Now or Love Me. But 'Love Me Like You' is too 50 shades of 'Black Heart', 'Wings' is boring as anything and dreary from Birdy who really needs to fly away. Another drool from Meghan Trainor and 'Black Magic' which reminds me of Karmin's 'Brokenhearted'.

Real Love- Don't mind this
Wanna Do- YouTuber pile of crap
Doing It- Solid pop jam this.
I Don't Mind- He'll probably never go back to the days of 'Yeah!, 'Burn' or 'OMG'. This was all right for him although this:

At 1:30. Why is there a cow in this?

Zero- Another good tune from Breezy

My Way- Why does Fetty Wap get so much hate on here. It's not his fault he has glaucoma.

Five More Hours- Shame streaming stopped this from getting to #1.
Nasty Freestyle- The anti hip-hop police wouldn't enjoy this.
Earned It- Quite a sexy tune this from The Weeknd. 50 Shades of Grey. Good to listen when things happen.
Hey Everybody!- Hungry Like The Wolf by Duran Duran is much better than this what would Martin "Wolfie" Adams think of this?

40. Justin Bieber- What Do You Mean?
1-2-1-1-2-1-1-5-7-6-7-.... (11 Weeks So Far)
plat.jpg
52 Points

The first song I'm commentating on in this section is one of the biggest hits of the year, What Do You Mean by Justin Bieber which started his massive comeback! After a couple of awful years- musically and personal life, Bieber turned things around and elevated his music to a whole new level and increased his fanbase dramatically. This doesn't deserve to be on the list for it being the 1st Bieber song that hasn't made me want to rip my ears off and all in all is a pretty good song, albeit overrated and can get annoying at times. Not too surprised to see it on the list here though as its massive chart success will obviously lead to some hatred!

39. Meghan Trainor- Lips Are Movin
89-X-73-60-50-2-4-5-13-14-23-26-29-34-37-35-37-43-47-56-64-68-78-85-98-X (23 Weeks)
gold.jpg
55 Points

Ugh at this being anywhere near the top 40 here cry.gif This is in my 15 favourite songs this year (even though I associate it more with 2014) and is a fantastic, fun pop gem which is so catchy heart.gif This was the song that showed Meghan wasn't going to be a one hit wonder and it even looked like it could knock Uptown Funk off the top spot at one point (though this did not materialise sad.gif ). This gave Meghan her 2nd of 3 top 2 hits so far and is another quite big seller for her! Once again, I'm gutted this is on here as it is such a fan and enjoyable song.

38. Ellie Goulding- On My Mind
7-6-5-8-10-16-14-12-.... (8 Weeks So Far)
silver.jpg
56 Points

Another song I like in a row on this Hate-Chart list now in the form of Ellie's lead single (not counting the wonderful song of the year material Love Me Like You Do) from her 3rd album Delirium. This however took a long time to grow on me for me to like it as it is so untypical Ellie and I know this has its fair share of haters on here (Aly especially!). This has marked another big hit for Ellie but I wish she came back with a stronger lead single (album track Something In The Way You Move is a fantastic pop song!). Again I wish this wasn't on the list but I kind of see why people hate it. Though if this list was based on live performances, this should be top 5 after that horrific X-Factor performance sick2.gif

37. Fergie- L.A. Love (La La)
3-10-19-23-34-41-50-59-80-70-80-93-92-X (13 Weeks)
silver.jpg
57 Points

How about we make it another song I love in a row on a hate chart list? Even though I forget this exists occasionally, this was Fergie's first proper solo single in 8 years and was such a tune (though I prefer the YG version which I don't think got released in the UK). This became a minor chart hit for Fergie and went top 3 before falling down the chart at a very quick rate. The lyrics and tune is really catchy and Fergie sounds great as ever so shame to see this on the list also!

36. James Bay- Let It Go
62-92-X(x80)-91-X(x16)-57-52-54-54-58-58-73-90-88-89-99-79-45-17-14-10-16-20-20-25-22-27-31-42-40-41-40-43-38-34-42-43-50-55-.... (37 Weeks So Far)
gold.jpg
58 Points

Another Joseph favourite and artist Cody hates in James Bay is up next and tbh I'm surprised this isn't about 20 places higher. This is ok if I hear it once or twice a month but anymore than that it becomes boring and annoying. This was very lucky to make the top 10 (alongside the marvellous Wings by Birdy) due to streaming/5 day/missing data catastrophe of the week it went top 10. The song spent a long time top 40 and top 100 with 37 weeks so far proving to be a very big hit! Tbh if I did my own hate chart this year I'd probably rank it around here, maybe a bit lower, so all in all a good position for a song. Well Done Buzzjack cheer.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt 15th November 2015, 07:53 PM

'On My Mind' should be higher, so far beyond awful words can't even begin to describe it.

Posted by: FleetSeb 15th November 2015, 07:59 PM

Let it Go is one of the best songs of the year. Particularly the Bearson remix - should not be anywhere near this list.

That remix is incredible! wub.gif

The original song itself I can take or leave, but it sounds so odd whenever I hear it due to being so accustomed to that remix.

Posted by: Iz~ 15th November 2015, 08:28 PM

This list is alternating between horrific and great songs (partly due to two opposing urban/dance + pop/rock blocs I'm guessing). I'm glad Shut Up And Dance was so low, I feared it'd be far higher, shame the same can't be said for She's Kinda Hot.

Honestly as much as I hate Chris Brown, I'm surprised Zero was on this list as I haven't even heard it and have no desire to.

Posted by: Dobbo 15th November 2015, 08:32 PM

That last section is excellent with the exception of James Beige, at least they're lowish on this list I guess.

35. Fetty Wap - 679 (feat. Remy Boyz)

Two Fetty Wap songs are in this section then. Well at least they're not higher. At the time of 'Trap Queen's dominance I was wondering if his follow-up would live up to the high standard set, which I imagined would be hard to do. Clearly not though, because '679' proved to be another excellent tune. Obviously a song of this nature was going to have its haters so if anything I'm pleased with its position. And its number of points being part of the song title *.*

34. Rixton - We All Want The Same Thing
21-33-50-72-x (4 weeks)

Radio 1 trying to make this song a big hit by overplaying it when the song was clearly set to have a short run was very annoying, but what was even more annoying was the song itself. Falsetto all the way through the song is really not a good idea. And even if it wasn't like that it's not an interesting song. Really glad the general public saw sense and made it flop. And we haven't heard from them since cheer.gif

33. David Zowie - House Every Weekend

David Zowie became the token faceless dance act #1 of the year (and we were actually gifted with 2 this year, thanks KDA) with this massive banger of a tune. Unfortunately repetitive deep house with a sample isn't to everyone's taste though and so it lands in the hate chart. sad.gif

32. Fetty Wap - Trap Queen
99-75-72-60-38-29-21-20-15-12-8-8-10-16-14-13-15-18-18-19-24-27-25-22-23-27-25-26-29-33-36-42-... (32 weeks) plat.jpg

Fetty Wap appears again (no pun intended) with 'Trap Queen', a song which got much bigger than anyone ever expected. I am of course glad it got big because it felt very unique in the chart and despite the relatively low peak of #8 it definitely feels like one of the biggest songs of the year. It's so catchy and full of hooks everywhere so it's no surprise that I love it. Good to see that this falls outside the top 30.

31. Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea - Pretty Girls
16-55-80-x (3 weeks)
71 points

So Britney tried to get a hit by tacking on Iggy Azalea but it didn't work as that chart run suggests. The production was a big rip off of 'Fancy' too, overall making for a pretty uninspiring song. I don't dislike it but I'm glad it wasn't massive, even if I'd like poor Britney to have a hit again. On another interesting note Iggy hasn't had a hit since this song either. Maybe she's caught Britney's chart irrelevance ohmy.gif

Posted by: ML Hammer95 15th November 2015, 08:50 PM

Trap Queen and 679. cheer.gif Two of the best songs of the year, Trap Queen in particular felt like one of THE 2015 anthems.

House Every Weeknd is pretty great too, gets too much hate.

Pretty Girls is terrible, the campest thing I've heard all year.

Posted by: Dobbo 15th November 2015, 09:02 PM

Mixed bag in that section, Trap Queen is excellent and definitely a 2015 classic. His other one is alright but not brilliant. Pretty Girls is a terrible song but I do quite like it kink.gif the other 2 are pretty awful...

Posted by: Iz~ 15th November 2015, 09:03 PM

I have to be hearing something different from everyone else because Trap Queen is absolutely terminal for me, can't abide it. Everyone acting like it's a future classic just makes it worse drama.gif

Pretty terrible section aside from House Every Weekend there.

Posted by: Taylor Jago 15th November 2015, 09:04 PM

Most of that section are crap, but I quite liked We All Want The Same Thing and House Every Weekend was really good. Still, in terms of David -owie number one, Ashes To Ashes is by far the best.

I really hope that is to continue. If she could drop off the face of the earth, I could rest assured that the person responsible for songs like Fancy, Pretty Girls, Trouble and Bounce will never hit my ears again. Apart if she's planning on moving to the Black Widow standard. That was actually really good.

Posted by: UltraChristmas 15th November 2015, 10:26 PM

All of those 5 songs are horrid bar the amazing mess of Pretty Girls *.*
That Rixton song and Trap Queen are in the 10 worst of the year! Hopefully that's the last time Rixton will ever pollute the charts.

Thank gosh I got this song to commentate on so you don't have to read Dan's wrong opinion on this piece of noise tongue.gif This uninspired, bland piece of boring awfulness inflicted torture on the charts for quite a few weeks this year (though not as much as predicted thank gosh). Avicii has released a lot of awful songs and I think this may just be his worst one yet. The song is painful to listen to, the beat is awful and the vocals are a screechy horrid piece. This should be at least 25 places higher here nocheer.gif

29. Hozier- Take Me To Church
79-86-49-49-35-28-26-32-31-33-34-34-25-31-32-27-22-20-23-10-5-3-3-2-3-2-2-2-4-6-6-7-8-10-15-16-17-16-19-22-24-26-28-31-35-33-43-39-39-43-47-47-42-39-46-49-53-53-52-56-66-66-65-69-69-.... (65 Weeks So Far)

I am actually shocked this isn't top 10 here. Actually I'm surprised this whole section isn't significantly higher (which I'm kind of glad about as none of them are awful bar crapvicii). Take Me To Church can either sound really good, incredibly grating or plain old annoying- especially when it would never ever ever leave the chart let alone the top 10. This was one of those big sellings #2's as it was denied the top spot by Uptown Funk and Love Me Like You Do. Once again though I'm shocked this isn't way higher considering how many people hate it.

28. Maroon 5- Sugar

Yay for this not being top 10 like I thought it would be easily cheer.gif Maroon 5 have released a lot of awful songs (Maps and Animals from the same era are both crimes against music) but Sugar is such a fun pop song with a fantastic video! It is so deserving of its chart success and spent the most weeks in the top 10 for a song not peaking in the top 5 I think. The song has sold very well and is such a fun poppy track heart.gif This received a lot of hatred during it's chart run so hopefully that has died down a bit now and Sugar can be heard for what it really is, fun pop!

27. Lunch Money Lewis- Bills

Bills would have been an official chart #1 if it wasn't for streaming. Again it is another song that isn't very good but not terrible and deserving of a top half placing in the hate chart. Whip It is way better than Bills and I wish that was a hit! I also thought this song would be higher considering it grated on many people for its annoyingness and it is likely he will be a one hit wonder. Bills spent 5 weeks top 10 and did pretty well in the chart as it went gold and now it is on some advert.

26. Jessie J- Flashlight
62-39-14-13-16-15-18-22-29-38-45-49-49-58-61-62-62-73-89-96-98-X-94-X (22 Weeks)

Unfortunately everyone who voted Flashlight either doesn't have working ears or accidentally misread the title as favourite songs of all time. Jessie J's beautiful vocals on this track zooms this into the top 10 of the year, maybe even top 5 and is from Pitch Perfect 2 which is a fantastic movie. Flashlight is such a beautiful song with a lovely message and lyrics heart.gif This became a top 10 hit on sales and peaked at 13 officially for Jasy J as well as being certified silver *.* I really think if anyone else sang this apart from Buzzjack's hated Jessie J, this would be liked a lot more as it is such a nice ballad! And also that Screen Cap *.* Screen Cap of the year heart.gif Once again I'm gutted I even have to write a commentary on this iconic song for a hate chart but at least I get to shed light on how fantastic this song is wub.gif

Posted by: mr_pmt 16th November 2015, 01:00 AM

I don't hate 'Flashlight', but it is boring and uninspiring and a really tedious way of reiterating the whole "self empowerment" theme that has been done to death and often better.

Posted by: Shivering Adam❄️ 16th November 2015, 01:09 AM

Mostly good outcomes so far, apart from the high amount of hate for WFL (sounding like John Legend really doesnt help though!)
I never get the hate for House Every Weekend really. Is it the vocals, the repetition? unsure.gif
Shame Pretty Girls isnt higher really. It sounds like I should like it but I dont and the vocals are quite annoying. Both artists have done much better and for this to be considered Fancy pt 2 is quite abysmal (as Fancy was great)

Posted by: Taylor Jago 16th November 2015, 06:21 AM

What makes Waiting For Love worse is that the 10 seconds of it are great, and the rest of the song is not only terrible, but a letdown (even bigger by the fact this is Avicii's second bad song after previously releasing great tracks like Levels, Silhouettes, I Could Be The One, Wake Me Up, You Make Me and Hey Brother.

Speaking of good parts in bad songs, where's Fun!

Posted by: Danvember 16th November 2015, 07:14 AM

Waiting For Love is WAY too high and Take Me To Sleep WAY too low no.gif

25. KSI - Lamborghini (feat. P Money)
30-68-96-x (3 weeks)
77 points

So a song which is essentially nothing more than a YouTuber bragging about owning a lamborghini managed to go top 40. It's the second YouTube star turned chart star in this chart following Joe Weller in any case. He does seems to be a legitimate respected grime artist though, collaborating with P Money on this single and JME on latest single 'Keep Up'. I don't mind this song actually but with whatever he's doing to his voice in the hook it's not hard to see why some find it annoying.

24. Stevie McCrorie - Lost Stars
6-68-x (2 weeks)
77 points

The Voice UK winners are known for one thing. Which happens to be that everyone forgets them quickly after they win. Maybe this will change when the show moves to ITV especially if it replaces The X Factor. In any case it's for the best that this song did next to nothing after its first week, because it's such a nothingy song. And ironically he doesn't really have much of a standout voice. I was surprised to see it do so well initially even with The Voice actually promoting the single unlike what happened in previous years.

23. Ed Sheeran - Photograph
44-45-54-65-75-80-79-80-89-91-83-x-99-x-87-85-95-x-90-43-72-61-62-65-64-65-82-x-100-x-91-54-49-43-34-22-15-16-17-19-17-16-20-19-18-22-24-23-26-26-32-31-33-35-35-37-41-... (52 weeks) plat.jpg

This dull and boring song somehow became a popular album track, with it spending ages in the chart before even entering the top 40. And of course when it did it stayed there for months and only just left last week. I really don't get Ed Sheeran ballads, both this and Thinking Out Loud are his worst singles for me, but clearly they have their fans or they wouldn't have massive chart runs. In any case Sheeran definitely needs to take a long break as it's been years since we last had an Ed-free chart.

22. 5 Seconds Of Summer - She's Kinda Hot
18-52-58-66-60-61-14-59-74-100-x (10 weeks)
81 points

This kind of pop-rock is one of my least favourite genres ever so unsurprisingly I think this song is really awful. Not helped by them saying 'though' about 100 times throughout the song either. At least it didn't spend ages in the chart like their debut 'She Looks So Perfect'.

21. Sam Feldt - Show Me Love (feat. Kimberly Anne)
4-6-9-10-12-13-17-30-33-35-38-45-51-50-52-62-67-74-... (18 weeks) silver.jpg

I know there have been too many versions of this song but I really like what Feldt has done with the song. With tropical house being relatively new when the song premiered it sounded really fresh to my ears and it became one of my faves of the year. I was pleasantly surprised with its chart success too, did not expect it to go top 5. Sadly this has seemed to get more hate than love over time, despite it finishing in the top 10 in BJSC!

20. AronChupa – I’m An Albatraoz
25-32-40-52-72-84-X (6 Weeks)
82 Points

Well this a song that is so deserving of its place on a hate chart because of how terrible the ‘song’ in question is. It is a bunch of noise with crappy vocals and an awful beat and how this managed to get anywhere near the top 100 is worrying. Thank gosh it looks like he will stay a one hit wonder and I think this is only not higher because it wasn’t a very big hit. This seemed to be the song that whenever it got played on the chart, it received the most hate this year after Silento’s Watch Me crap which thank gosh is still to come!

19. Stormzy- WickedSkengMan 4
18-64-80-94-98-97-X (6 Weeks)
82 Points

Stormzy giving out free trainers saw this have great iTunes stability in its first week, it’s just a shame that the song the free trainers boosted was this ear hurting awful freestyle. Thank gosh it only affected the top 40 for one week because this really is awful and tbh I’m surprised it had anywhere near that much longevity in its top 100 run!

18. Drake- Hotline Bling
74-69-64-53-36-17-17-8-3-4-3-5-9-.... (13 Weeks So Far)
silver.jpg
85 Points

A gigantic ugh at this becoming a hit, the song is an out of tune ear screeching boring whiney mess, the video isn’t funny and just everything about this screams awful- easily in my top 5 hated of the year and the song I hate the most that I am commenting on! This has now polluted the chart for 6 weeks and is still doing incredibly well on the chart by becoming Drake’s highest solo peaking song ever. At least this didn’t get to #1 in America because of Queen Adele (and Bieber as well)! This is so deserving of its place on the hatechart as it is a bunch of absolutely awful noise.

17. Flo Rida Ft Robin Thicke & Verdine White- I Don’t Like It, I Love It
7-7- -11-18-19-19-24-26-29-30-38-42-50-50-57-62-67-64-78-93-X (20 Weeks)

85 Points

It’s nice that I’m finally getting to dig my teeth into the really bad songs after liking most of the songs in my last section! Flo Rida surprisingly made a pretty good and addictive song in G.D.F.R but for his next single he makes this crap which unfortunately made the top 10 and did pretty well in the charts. Flo is awful on this and the song is so bad. And even worse this brought the return of Robin Thicke to the top 10, who as far as I care can be sent to another planet (along with the 10 copies of his last album that people bought). Also the video is shockingly bad and this is just a mess. And talking of mess…

16. Rihanna & Kanye West & Paul McCartney- FourFiveSeconds
5-4-5-5-5-3-5-3-4-6-9- -14-15-19-22-26-26-35-39-42-48-51-46-76-56-59-75-95-X (28 Weeks)

RiRi is really contending for one of the most messiest and worst album campaigns of all time. Practically everyone was beyond excited for NuRiri at the start of the year and by the end of the year no one cares anymore and the fact that the album is set to be a Tidal exclusive sums up how big of a mess this era has been! She did get one hit from this era, the quite good but very dreary and so under average for RiRi, FourFiveSeconds which spent 11 weeks top 10 and peaked at 3 after being added to Spotify. The song is also one of the biggest sellers of the year but the problem is basically n one seems to like it, which is also supported by its very high finish here. Anyway this won’t be the last RiRi song and the last time I’ll be complaining about the mess of the era in this hatechart.

Posted by: Shivering Adam❄️ 16th November 2015, 08:46 PM

I love KSI as a Youtuber but really his songs just make me laugh a little and nothing more. Surprised it isn't higher actually.

I don't hate Show Me Love at all, apart from its constant remakes every year. Also surprised comparing it to BJSC result.

I haven't seen much hate for I'm An Albatraoz on here (I know Taylor Jago isn't a fan kink.gif) so I'm half surprised as this being so high and half not.

I've tried getting into Hotline Bling but I don't hate it. Shame 45S missed the top 15. It's still clearly showing that she's been anything but on form this year mellow.gif (not to mention her album mess)

Posted by: mr_pmt 16th November 2015, 08:50 PM

I don't believe I've ever heard 'Lamborghini', I've completely forgotten about 'Lost Stars' and 'I'm An Albatraoz' is a guilty pleasure.

'Show Me Love' is a lazy and uninspiring version of the song, and 'Hotline Bling' deserves to be that high too.

'FourFiveSeconds' would be the worst song of the past 5 years if it wasn't for Rita Ora's 'Shine Ya Light'. I honestly don't see what anyone can like about it?

Honestly, that's like choosing between two extreme methods of torture to be inflicted on you. Neither of those songs have redeeming qualities.

A Grime freestyle charting in the top 20 is something to be celebrated! cheer.gif Big up Stormzy, that man has had a big year. I do prefer Know Me From though.

Shame that Drake and Flo Rida/Robin Thicke are this high. The chorus to I Don't Like It, I Love It is one of the catchiest of the whole year while Hotline Bling is fast becoming iconic. wub.gif

Posted by: Cody Slayberry 16th November 2015, 09:01 PM

This list is already on one of the worst threads of the year due to "I Don't Mind" and "Let It Go" being extremely low.

It's rather DISGUSTING that "Five More Hours" and both 5SOS songs are higher than the former. I'm honestly embarrassed to be posting in this.

Posted by: Taylor Jago 16th November 2015, 09:05 PM

Abysmal section there.

I'm An Albatraoz is second worst of the year after Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).
WickedSkengMan4 is unbearable.
Hotline Bling is awful, I cannot believe it's outdone Hold On, We're Going Home (which is a great song)
I Don't Like It, I Love It was good at first but got annoying (amusingly GDFR was the complete opposite)
And FourFiveSeconds is a boring turd.

The top 15, in alphabetical order.

Aston Merrygold - Get Stupid
Bars And Melody - Keep Smiling
Bars And Melody - Stay Strong
Beyoncé - 7/11
Charlie Puth & Meghan Trainor - Marvin Gaye
Chris Brown x Tyga - Ayo
Jamie Lawson - Wasn't Expecting That
Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband
Rihanna - Bitch Better Have My Money
Sam Smith - Lay Me Down
Sam Smith - Lay Me Down (feat. John Legend)
Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall
Silentó - Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)
Stereo Kicks - Love Me So
Union J - You Got It All

The counting down of the top 15 will start tomorrow, predictions?

Posted by: Shivering Adam❄️ 16th November 2015, 10:04 PM

I'm quite surprised Get Stupid is on the hate chart at all if in honest. The song is ok and I don't think I saw very many hate comments at all in its thread unsure.gif still it's a big step back from JLS as a group, me being quite a big fan of most of their stuff music.gif . I'm not sure how many here liked them even laugh.gif

Marvin Gaye is another I've not seen much hate on, well not until recently. The lyrics are kind of cheesy though laugh.gif

I can't say I wasn't expecting Jamie Lawson (when will this joke ever get old? tongue.gif) to be here. It's very Ed Sheeran but his voice is kind of ok and I don't mind this one too much.

Not that fussed to see UJ here. I do enjoy most of their singles but this is their dullest and it's a shame it was a sales #1. Poor Sam Smith appearing three times in the top 15 :')

Posted by: mr_pmt 16th November 2015, 10:08 PM

Silento to be the runaway winner now (which was my second choice behind 'FourFiveSeconds' anyway).

Posted by: ML Hammer95 16th November 2015, 10:14 PM

Only song I like that remains is Ayo... Silento is obviously going to win this.

Posted by: Dobbo 16th November 2015, 10:18 PM

So many amazing tracks in the last few sections! People hate too much these days laugh.gif

So of that top 15 there's only one song I dislike which is Get Stupid. Predictably a lot of boyband output but none of it stuck around at all long enough to become hate worthy. Poor Sam Smith with 3 tracks there I like all of them.

Silentó does not deserve to 'win' this.

Posted by: Chez Wombat 16th November 2015, 10:51 PM

I don't even remember those Bars & Melody songs, in fact I don't recall being subjected to anything from them, guess I'll keep it that way ;o Get Stupid I also don't remember, very agreeable top 15 apart from that though, I voted/almost voted for most of them!

Marvin Gaye to win this, Silento's at least wasn't pretending to be a serious attempt at a song.

Posted by: Iz~ 16th November 2015, 11:17 PM

Well at least that top 15 is mostly bad, only Bitch Better Have My Money (the Kat Krazy bootleg <3) , as well as maybe Marvin Gaye and Watch Me (on a good day) that I'd defend. A few filler tracks by bad artists that I barely remember but honestly I'd prefer that than so many big hits that got overplayed taking up the slots.

Horrible seeing FourFiveSeconds, Waiting For Love, Take Me To Church and She's Kinda Hot so high but I'm glad they all missed the top 15. I'm going to be a little unconventional and cheer on Dear Future Husband for the win, for what it stands for if nothing else.

Posted by: Jaÿ 17th November 2015, 10:56 AM

'FourFiveSeconds' really grew on me, after I initially "didn't get it". I'd actually consider it to be one of Top 40 best songs of the year. 'Bitch...' is good too, although I do understand why it's so polarising. Poor Rhenna facing this backlash!

'7/11' has no business being this high, what a tune! sob.gif It'd better not make the Top 10 here. nono.gif

Lol at both versions of 'Lay Me Down' being this high up. I wonder which version will be considered worse?

15. Aston Merrygold - Get Stupid
28-62-96-x (3 weeks)
90 points

Back when JLS were actually a thing it was assumed that once they split Aston Merrygold would be the one with a decent solo career. As it turns out though, he only released his debut single years after people stopped caring - and the song wasn't any good either, leading into a hilarious #28 debut. The song somehow actually became a decent hit somewhere though, #10 in Australia.

14. Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall
1-3-7-11-4-3-8-... (7 weeks) silver.jpg
90 points

So we were all eagerly awaiting to hear who had been chosen to sing the Bond theme. And then all excitement was lost when it was announced as Sam Smith. Seriously though, this song is just as dull as I expected it to be, the only good thing about this is the strings in the production. And I guess it sounded okay in the opening titles sequence of the film.

13. Sam Smith - Lay Me Down
46-60-90-x-87-88-15-17-18-19-24-21-26-32-35-38-41-44-51-57-69-81-90-100-x gold.jpg
91 points

Originally a pre-album buzz single, but it then re-appeared in the chart thanks to the John Legend version getting released and the two songs not being combined in the chart. Whilst this isn't as painful to the ears as the other version it's still really bad (especially the chorus where he really wails, although it doesn't sound so bad on the Tiësto remix) and so I'm glad the other version hasn't taken away too many points from this. Will it be #1 though? It's definitely in the top 10 anyway.

12. Bars And Melody - Keep Smiling
52-x (1 week)
92 points

Unfortunately Bars And Melody didn't stop after 'Hopeful' but at least they didn't trouble the official top 40 or get any airplay which meant my ears weren't subjected to the song. I did quickly preview both BAM entries on iTunes at the time and they sounded really awful, I could only last a few seconds. Although I didn't give the songs any hate points as I've now forgotten how they went like.

11. Bars And Melody - Stay Strong
53-x
94 points

And both of their entries are found next to each other, lol. Apparently this one is slightly worse than the other. Can't say much more really. I doubt they'll be troubling the chart again now that their album has been released.

10. Stereo Kicks- Love Me So
31-X (1 Week)
95 Points

ALERT: Irrelevant boyband #1 appearance in the top 10. Whoever thought an 8 piece boyband was a good idea were out of their minds and X-Factor 5th place Stereo Kicks lasted one single before breaking up (to the relief of everyone). Love Me So is similar to a Westlife song. Which is practically one of the worst comparisons a song could ever receive. Watching paint dry on a wall for 5 hours would be more fun than listening to this dull boring song with horrid and terrible vocals. It’s a shame they didn’t leave X-Factor in the 2nd week when they were bottom 2  Anyway this debuted at an awful 31 before plummeting down the chart never to be seen again at a comical rate. And they split up cheer.gif

09. Rihanna- Bitch Better Have My Money

I said in my FourFiveSeconds commentary that we had another RiRi song to come and here it is at number 9 as Bitch Better Have Money is the first song to pass 100 points. This completely bombed in the charts for RiRi’s standards (though its peak is excellent in comparison with American Flopsygen). I’m surprised the song had anywhere near that much longevity! Anyway the video was a major talking point about this song for how brutal and violent it was and caused a lot of controversy. This is such an awful song from Rihanna and is just a racket of noise. Anyway 2015 has been a year to forget for RiRi fans as the usually adored artist on Buzzjack sees her pick up 2 top 20 hits on the hatechart, more than she achieved in the official charts!
#8-#6 coming in an hour smile.gif

QUOTE(UltraChristmas @ Nov 17 2015, 08:59 PM) *

Let's not forget their goodbye message when they thanked their fans for their MIDWEEK #12 SMASH :')

2 of 3 Sam Smith's out already? ohmy.gif

Good to see Bitch eugh-oo-eugh made the top 10 biggrin.gif

Posted by: Dobbo 17th November 2015, 09:27 PM

So the worst song in the top 15 finishes... 15th, damn.

I'm at least glad the John Legend Lay Me Down is higher as it isn't as good. BAM would have probably been in the top 10 twice if anyone actually remembered those tracks laugh.gif

Love Me So, well it wasn't 'bad' per sé but very run of the mill and nothing standout. As for Bitch Better... I love that! Both that & Pour It Up are tunes music.gif

08. Union J- You Got It All
2--34-71-X (3 Weeks)
103 Points

ALERT. Irrelevant boyband #2 appearance in the top 10. Well there not as bad as Stereo Kicks and at least they actually seem nice unlike the members of the other boyband in this top 10. However once again You Got It All is incredibly boring and the only reasons it is remembered is for that horrid 2-34 fall (and 1-22 on sales, a new record)! Also the week it was released saw a different #1 on the Official Charts (Ed Sheeran), Sales Chart (Union J), Download Chart (Taylor Swift). And talking of Swift, I believe Union J didn’t put this song on Spotify on release. Well anyway this was the last song from them before the inevitable split!

07. Beyonce- 7/11
36-40-48-48-60-47--33-34-39-44-44-50-55-67-73-90-X-X-100-93-X (18 Weeks)

Next up is this 3 minutes of noise from Beyonce with a horrific video to accompany the painful ‘song’. Anyway this had very good longevity for a song peaking in the 30’s but when you compare this song to her other song this year (the incredible and stunning Runnin), this pales so much in comparison quality wise as 7/11 really is just noise. And I don’t really remember much else about this song thankfully.

06. Jamie Lawson- Wasn’t Expecting That
66-40-6-7-10--12-17-…. (7 Weeks So Far)
121 Points

Having Ed Sheeran’s boring ballads is bad enough. Having Ed Sheeran Wannabe’s plain boring ballads is even worse. Well anyway Jamie Lawson gave us an entry into the latter category which sees him just miss out on a top 5 placing and this is the last song I’m commentating on for this years hatechart. I wasn’t expecting that tongue.gif Anyway this is easily one of the worst songs of this year as it is just wasn’t expecting that said in a croakily voice for 3 minutes on loop and thank gosh it is doing as well in the charts as I expected it to after it went to 1 on iTunes. It was also a sales one but missed the official top 5 thankfully and this song really is beyond awful. Hope you’ve enjoyed my commentary this year and I wasn’t expecting that I’d be co-hosting! (The Wasn’t expecting that jokes are awful but still 10000x better than the song). This really is a poor Ed Sheeran song made even worse.

Posted by: JosephStyles 17th November 2015, 10:14 PM

Union J have picked their new single and are releasing it next year apparently, no split magic.gif

7/11 is truly awful, glad to see it up high. Shame I can't say the same for the gorgeous Wasn't Expecting That sad.gif

Posted by: Cameron 17th November 2015, 10:18 PM

No one other than Sam could do such an iconic commentary laugh.gif

Posted by: Danvember 17th November 2015, 10:22 PM

Thanks UV for the help with commentary! I also wasn't expecting to have a co-host this year, the idea only occurred to me a few days ago! Also I'm very pleased to see Union J and Jamie Lawson so high. Now let's get into your top 5:

05. Charlie Puth & Meghan Trainor - Marvin Gaye
90-1-2-5-6-7-7-12-15-20-18-24-27-33-40-... (15 weeks) silver.jpg
130 Points

This I imagine got much hate mostly from its poor lyrics, especially the infamous titular lyric where Marvin Gaye has suddenly become a verb, meaning to "get it on". Yeah... no. The song featuring Meghan Trainor probably didn't help this in the hatechart either, with her receiving much hate this year. I even liked the song a bit for a few weeks, but it quickly got annoying, and I'll be glad to see the back of it in the top 40 which it looks like doing this week.

Posted by: Dobbo 17th November 2015, 10:26 PM

You Got It All was pretty forgettable but I kinda liked the old Westlife throwback, at least the sound doesn't dominate any more though.

7/11 at first I hated but grew to love it in time, what a tune dance.gif

Same for Wasn't Expecting That, everything I would usually dislike about a track but I actually love, maybe because it isn't Ed Sheeran singing it laugh.gif

Marvin Gaye is one of the best pop songs of this year sleep.gif

Posted by: #psychic7 17th November 2015, 10:29 PM

7/11 is truly horrendous, and still far too low here. Had Beyoncé (/any female popstar)'s name not been attached I imagine it'd be giving Silento a run for his money at the top ~

Surprised DFH is top 5 ohmy.gif I knew it wasn't particularly well-liked but I never noticed it getting masses of BuzzHate either

04. Chris Brown x Tyga - Ayo
6-12-10-12-15-15-16-14-14-18-20-22-24-28-27-34-37-38-41-46-49-68-51-55-62-70-69-83-88-x (29 weeks) gold.jpg

Aww, this isn't that bad guys. Although I am not at all surprised about this being so high, it got so much hate every week in the chart thread. Especially by Taylor Jago. Anyway I'll try and list the reasons why this is so high; it's by Chris Brown, it sounds like every DJ Mustard produced song, the lyrics are all about how they f*** lots of bitches and have loads of money (which seems to be the subject for a large number of rap songs lol), and the big one - it was in the charts for ages.

Posted by: Joe. 17th November 2015, 10:37 PM

Marvin Gaye really is horrific, I never hear anything but negative things said about it, even radio DJs would complain when they had to play it! So I'm quite surprised it managed to sell as much as it did!

Posted by: Danvember 17th November 2015, 10:38 PM

03. Meghan Trainor - Dear Future Husband
89-61-48-40-29-25-20-21-20-23-27-35-43-47-54-69-78-92-100-70-83-90-94-97-x (24 weeks) silver.jpg

I'm really glad this finished highly, rightfully this got a lot of hate for being completely uninspired and trash. The instrumental sounds exactly like Olly Murs' Dance With Me Tonight, a song I never liked either so a female version of it wasn't exactly going to be to my tastes. But the lyrics are really awful, I don't like the idea of her husband having to be perfect in every way and kissing her ass every night. No redeeming features to this really, but it's not one of the absolute worst offenders and there is a worse song to come in the top 3 (imo).

[Sam Smith/John Legend vs. Silentó]

Posted by: Chez Wombat 17th November 2015, 10:38 PM

Oh dam, worst song out already. I may or may not rip Marvin Gaye apart in my EOY thread but suffice to say, it's the most offensive song I've heard all year. No redeeming qualities at all, very rare for me to say that :x Glad to see 7/11 top 10, I forgot about that horror.

Side note but lol at Bars & Melody's single titles - 'Hopeful', 'Keep Smiling', 'Stay Strong', 'Beautiful', is there a subtle message I'm missing here? thinking.gif

Dear Future Husband pleasingly high, woop.

Posted by: ML Hammer95 17th November 2015, 10:38 PM

Love Ayo! wub.gif The amount of Mustard sounding tracks in the charts over the last two years has been great to see.

Not as good as Loyal though, that remains iconic.

Posted by: Dobbo 17th November 2015, 10:41 PM

Meghan Trainor above Chris Brown laugh.gif I certainly never envisaged that!

I would rather Lay Me Down Part II 'wins' this as Watch Me is a modern masterpiece.

Posted by: Joe. 17th November 2015, 10:42 PM

Yeah, DFH really does have some terrible lyrics content wise, as a song it isn't nearly as annoying as some of the songs lower than it , it's just a bit boring- I'm surprised it's this high!

Posted by: Danvember 17th November 2015, 10:49 PM

02. Sam Smith - Lay Me Down (feat. John Legend)
1-1-6-13-31-44-52-59-78-x (9 weeks) silver.jpg

How to make a bad song worse 101: add another boring singer onto the track and "harmonize" with him. Seriously though, the parts where they sing together are some of the worst in music ever. I know it was for charity and all but I wish the UK public didn't put this ear rape at #1 for 2 weeks. The song in itself is so dull no-one could sing it and make it sound interesting, but when you have Smith and Legend on it that instantly makes it a lot worse. I was really hoping this would make it to #1 in this chart, and it did look like having a shot at doing so at one point but of course the inevitable happened...

Posted by: UltraChristmas 17th November 2015, 10:50 PM

Dear Future Husband and Marvin Gaye both so high is so annoying, absolutely adore both and they are both in my top 20 favourite of the year heart.gif
Ayo is terrible and 4th worst song this year. And the battle for #1 here is between 2nd worst song of the year (Chart Murderers) and 3rd worst song of the year (Silento) so don't care which one of those torture songs win laugh.gif

Yay, hope it's a lot better than YGIA. Another Carry You/Loving You Is Easy would do music.gif

Speaking of which, in not sure it deserves such a high placing here. There's much more worse songs out there released this year but I guess it being almost #1 made it more memorable for people to vote it on here kink.gif

Marvin Gaye shouldn't really be in the top 10 either tbh. Both artists serve their vocals up rather well IMO.

Top 2 couldn't be a better outcome though yahoo.gif

01. Silentó - Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae)

Maybe I should've let UV do this song's commentary, because I don't actually hate it ph34r.gif Anyway it's not even close at the top, with Silentó taking the lead by 61 points. I had a big feeling that this would end up "victorious" in this competition anyway, it's a fun bit of novelty imo but most people find this very annoying. It got no less than 6 sets of 18 points too (not too surprising really). I just wish this had more lyrics in it anyway, the repetition of lyrics in the chorus is good and all but the verses are just as repetitive also.

Possibly one of the worst things to ever be released and enter my ears. It's not even funny how bad that thing is, just earache torture sick2.gif Great to see it win here.
And to consider 2nd place is even worse, such a screechy painful mess which is somehow worse than the original!
