It's 30 years since 'Causing a Commotion' was runner-up on the Billboard Hot 100. Released as the second single from Who's That Girl?, the song draws influence from Madonna's relationship with then-husband Sean Penn. Reviews were middling but it was still a chart success, reaching the Top 10 in Australia, Canada, Italy, UK & US. What's everyone's thoughts on the track? Is it underrated? Should it make a return to the stage? Audio Who's That Girl World Tour Blond Ambition World Tour |

I really don't listen to this much at all (mainly because it's not on one of her main studio albums). I should revisit it more though because it's nice.

I never usually listened to it that much - like Bal said, it doesn't feature on a studio album or compilation - but I've been making a conscious effort to listen when I'm having a Madonna sesh on Spotify. I've really grown to love it and I think it has a hook that's just as strong as Madonna's other popular 80s hooks. I probably prefer it to 'Who's That Girl?' now.
Adore the Who's That Girl Tour performance! |

It's okay but, Look Of Love aside, I prefer every other single from the second half of the 80s.

Good opportunity to remind people of this excellent cover from Bright Light Bright Light:
Absolutely adore that production! This is why I have finally been able to fully appreciate the song. |
