Predictable but... 'Go!' was a perfect album opener. Those pounding drums really let us know that we were about to get something different from the world of spice. I remember feeling so excited by that track. It was probably single-worthy to be honest.

Go, certainly set the scene for we are not getting any type of Spice Girls album here.
It is a solid opening track and carries in line with the overall feeling of the album itself. |

Think About It is my favourite song listed, but for me it’s not the opening track of The Sea. I use the UK CD/International Digital track list, which has The Sea as track 1! So for that reason I’ll choose something else rather than Think About It (and The Sea isn’t my favourite anyway).
I’m going with Dear Life! Certainly one of her more subtle album openers; I think it’s one of her most beautiful and sentimental songs. |

Understand for me absolutely love that opening to an album. Think about it is my favourite song but like Jay The Sea is my opening track on that album not think about it.

A very equal spread of votes across many songs so far.

Remains very close with the songs.
This is understandable when so many are so good. |

Since The Sea isn't featured in the poll, I'll go with Understand. They are all absolutely fantstic though. Melanie never fails to deliver when it comes to her opening & closing tracks of her albums.

Nice to see something about 'This Time' getting some love. Not my fave album but 'Understand' was always a highlight for me.
I think that dreadful video cheapened the song somewhat. It deserved better. Still stand by 'Go!'. But 'The Sea' would be a close second, had it been included. |

Go could have been one final single from northern star. I love reason but I think commercially the album needed more of a I turn to you sound as that sound worked good for mel.
