First time I've ever made a thread in this part of the site I think but I can't not attempt a discussion on this
"Six children genetically cross-bred with avian DNA, complete with wings, take flight around the country to discover their origins." I'm conflicted. James Patterson is my favourite author, qI grew up reading the Maximum Ride books, a film is something I've been waiting on for years, they've had plans for a film for so long but there's been like a million problems that have come up but now it looks like we're getting one and I'm underwhelmed I must say The casting is so wrong in terms of how the characters are described in the books, the trailer looks really cheap and badly done and also doesn't give any indication about the plot, if it wasn't for the fact I've read the book, I'd be clueless. Even the short description I pasted above doesn't describe it well, they aren't looking to find their origins, they're on the run from a lab that's been genetically testing on them. Apparently Jenna Marbles is the executive producer which I'm really surprised about, I think that's either going to make it awful or really great, I'm not sure how I feel about her involvement. Maybe they'll pull out all the stops in the actual film and it's just a bad trailer but it's not getting my hyped at all, and at this rate I'll be disappointed by it. It's taken years to make, I guess I just expected better My expectations are maybe too high but these books were my childhood (this is what I stanned when people were obsessing over twilight, Harry Potter and THG ) so I just really want this movie to be good! Have any if you read the series? Is this something you feel you might enjoy, being of the teen sci-fi/fantasy genre? I'm also not too sure on the release date, it has two in the trailer. I'm guessing the earlier one is like a trial release and if it does well it hits cinemas the following month, I hope it gets that far :') |
