You literally did. Like two days ago. About school meal vouchers

Yes I did but those aren't benefits as such.

What are they then? And why do you still think people can’t be trusted with them?

We were discussing school lunch vouchers and not benefits. You can get free school meals on a low income even if you aren't on any benefits.

The main areas of focus are on ending the 48-hour working week, tweaking the rules around rest breaks at work and not including overtime pay when calculating some holiday pay entitlements, according to people familiar with the plans.

Chris and I have been absolutely blindsided. Who could have predicted this?

They're cash in lieu of school meals. I merely said just a few may spend them on something else. Why castigate me for that. You can't prove that NOBODY would do that.

You’re right of course, lots of these parents work but still don’t earn enough to live. Imagine trusting people who work for money to spend money.

Maybe they should just send you these naff food parcels instead of benefits.

From BBC News.

A diplomatic row has broken out between the UK and EU over the status of the bloc's ambassador in London.

The UK is refusing to give Joao Vale de Almeida the full diplomatic status that is granted to other ambassadors.

The Foreign Office is insisting he and his officials should not have the privileges and immunities afforded to diplomats under the Vienna Convention.

It is understood not to want to set a precedent by treating an international body in the same way as a nation state.

As it stands, the ambassador would not have the chance to present his credentials to the Queen like other diplomatic heads of mission.

The British decision is in marked contrast to 142 other countries around the world where the EU has delegations and where its ambassadors are all granted the same status as diplomats representing sovereign nations.

HRMC boss Jim Harra confirms that consumers will be hit by price hikes when they order goods from the EU online.
1. VAT
2. customs duties if goods is not EU/Brit product under rules of origin rules.
3. cost of courier/Royal mail for doing the customs clearance for you. €12

Yay, now I get to pay import fees on top of the price I'd usually pay. Well done everyone !

Am sitting here working out ways I can get stuff for family/friends from the EU later in the year in the car. And of course me bring goodies the opposite way. But the list of restricted and banned substances is just mind blowing. So many things are now streng verboten for import into the EU from the UK. Wild when you consider that exact same item would be fine to bring into the EU if it was made in Belfast instead of Edinburgh/Cardiff/London

Well Northern Ireland (which I think is where you live) is STILL in the EU Single Market and is de facto in the EU Customs Union. So you wouldn't. The main impact would be on goods entering Northern Ireland from Great Britain.
