It was the big return but there were only six episodes (i think), surely people don’t get over a programme THAT quickly!!

As Klaus said, the previous series which aired February to March 2016 rated 3.5m overnight and consolidated to 5.1m for its first episode. It did drop to 1.7m on the overnights for its finale, but that's still 1m ahead of what it rated last night.

The finale of Next of Kin did well to be in line with the last few episodes considering it aired on a different day to usual. The series averaged 2.73m.

Silent Witness averaged 5.67m this series (down 150k on 2017; 450k down on 2016) and Girlfriends averaged 4.14m (up on the 3.81m that The Halcyon averaged in its slot last year).
