Commentary

A new number 1 this week for the Kooks ‘She Moves In Her Own Way’, the brilliant summery highlight of their album, ‘Inside In/Inside Out’. The Zutons stay at number 2 with ‘Valerie’, my appreciation of this track hasn’t changed over the past week, it’s a real grower! This means a fall to number 3 to end the three week reign at number 1 for Automatic’s ‘Monster’, one of my favourite tracks of the year so far. Christina holds at number 4 with ‘Ain’t No Other Man’, The Rogue Traders rise to number 6, and Gnarls Barkley rises to within a whisker of the top 10 at 11, with ‘Smiley Faces’

There are new entries for the Lostprophets at 12 with ‘Rooftops’ and The All American Rejects at 13 with ‘Dirty Little Secret’. Both these songs are excellent, and look likely to rise next week. Finally, there are new entries for Diva DJs vs Nicki French at 26, this is yet another remix of this track (well the remix of a remix!) and despite the dreadful video, it’s a good tune and the final new entry at 27 for Bob Sinclair, with World, Hold On.
