Sunday Chart Predictions
Predicting the 03/05 to 09/05 chart

I really like you but I can’t keep cool about it
For a third week, the Top 2 should easily remain static with 30k+ worth of streams on their sides, keeping Carly Rae Jepsen from getting any higher than #3 with her new single 'I Really Like You'. Also in the Top 10 should be a new entry from Alesso with the Kylie-sampling 'Cool' (featuring vocals from Roy English) and possibly Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson's 'Trouble' which has been jumping up the chart the past couple of weeks. Elsewhere, new entries should include Skepta's 'Shutdown' and AronChupa's 'I'm An Albatroaz' whilst a big climb may be in store for Jack Ü (Diplo and Skrillex) and Justin Bieber's 'Where Are Ü Now'.

In the albums, Blur should receive their 6th number one with eighth studio album The Magic Whip - their first in 12 years! Joining them in the Top 10 may be The Proclaimers with Let's Hear It for the Dogs, whilst other new entries should include Jules Knight's Change Of Heart, Zac Brown Band's Jekyll + Hyde, Martin Gore's MG, Tracey Thorn's Songs from the Falling, George FitzGerald's Fading Love, Three Days Grace's Human and Mew's + -

Alesso's Cool is now up to 4th on UK ITunes... really been climbing well..... Can it sneak a top 5? not sure streaming enough? Obviously sampling Kylie's epic and under achieving dancefloor smash 'Get Outta My Way' is doing the trick smile.gif

I hope Wiz & Omi will manage another week of big sales if they're both going to hold CRJ out of the top 2

7k gap between Carly and Wiz.

Posted by: mr_aly 28th April 2015, 09:59 AM

I really wish Carly could hold that!

Any chance of her keeping #2 if she's that far ahead of Wiz?

Posted by: Heathyheath_ 28th April 2015, 09:59 AM

I'm shocked but it's a happy kind of shock! I wonder if Carly's preorders were a little more substantial than we gave her credit for!

She could hold onto the #1 if she increased just a little on iTunes, as her streaming is already up to #36 (Jess Glynne was only #47 at this point). Sadly, Capital have just stopped playing the song all of a sudden. No idea what their agenda is?

I kept saying her pre-oders would be big, she was pretty much top 100 on iTunes for about 4 weeks. And overall the pre-oder was available for ages!

One of the most comfortable #3 hits of all time perhaps? She looks like she'll be clear of the song at #4 by around 50k, which seems astonishing.

Good for her that the UK are still supporting her, the song is doing very little elsewhere. I guess we'll always be one of the biggest pure pop loving nations, it's a wonder that more pop like this isn't pushed here.

Great start for Blur, im hoping they can manage 50,000 but think 45,000 is where it will end up. At least its sales are half decent and much better than the last 3 weeks sales at number 1, it will be close between the Prodigy and Blur in debut week sales.

I am surprised (happily) to see Carly number 1 in the midweeks, also surprised to see OMI number 1 on itunes, could we have a proper battle for number 1 on our hands yet this week? i do hope so,i do like the surprise element of who will be number 1 every now and again.

I really hope Hozier's someone new can crack the top 40 i dont mind when as long as it happens, take me to the church is selling reasonably well and overshadowing its existence as a single, im also hoping the album will re-peak at some stage.

Posted by: Brett-Butler 28th April 2015, 07:51 PM

Absolutely chuffed to see Public Service Broadcasting back in the top 40 albums. Presumably their sold-out tour is helping this out. It could be on its way to going Silver at this rate, which would be ruddy marvelous.

Posted by: steve201 28th April 2015, 07:59 PM

Great start for about there hopefully they'll break 40k. And Cheerleader in with a real chance this week or def next! Fair play to them, clearly a popular song!!

Hope Hozier breaks the top 40 and Lean On could end up as high as 4 by Sunday!

Really pleased with 37k for Carly, even though it's not going to be number 1. Jess Glynne was only at 2k more at this point on her first week at #1, and she'd had the number 1 effect to help her.

By that Wiz song too nocheer.gif Joy! I'd prefer either Carly or Omi at #1 over another week of that. oh well.

Yay at Major Lazer top 5 though would love to reach #4 officially which I don't think is too out of reach.

Posted by: Joe. 29th April 2015, 03:24 PM

Wow at Talking Body already being 91 in the midweeks! People must be streaming the remixes as well as buying them.

yay at a Sam Smith free top 40! He's #41 though so will probably be there on Sunday when Style inevitably suffers from the weekend streaming effect nocheer.gif

good to see Skepta and AronChupa safely top 40 and Alesso inside the top 10 biggrin.gif Really hope 'Cool' can stay top 10 on Sunday but streaming will probably kick it out.

Looks like we can add Carly to the list of midweek #1s that didn't make it officially then, as Wiz & Omi should easily overtake

Posted by: Ethan 29th April 2015, 04:11 PM

Carly has done remarkably well to cling on for the chart update #1, given the rate at which Wiz Khalifa and OMI are being streamed! biggrin.gif

Finger crossed that Alesso heart.gif can retain his top ten status against the weekend tidal streaming surge! Pleasing to see AronChupa and Skepta on course to crack the top40 on Sunday! cheer.gif

People just need to stop streaming that abomination then hopes up, we will definitely have a Sam Smith-less chart this Sunday as it's #84 on iTunes and is falling too

Posted by: ___∆___ 29th April 2015, 06:35 PM

Good to see Take That and The Shires getting tour boosts for their under performing albums and entering back into the Top 40 after dropping out of the Top 75

Posted by: ___∆___ 29th April 2015, 06:40 PM

Also some decent movement in the singles chart - Ciara at #70, This really deserves to be a hit - Hopefully Radio will pick up on it. Mariah just making it at #94 although it's now on free fall on iTunes so will be well short of the Top 100 by Sunday cry.gif

No suprise but ouch at Conor slumping to #89 - Bit of a disastrous comeback

It was 99p on Google yesterday. So were Kodaline and Josh Grobag, although the latter's chart position obviously won't have been affected.

Seems they are back to their daily 99p deals - Today's are Mark Ronson, Catfish and The Bottler and Charli XCX so all of those could get a healthy boost!

Posted by: The Hit Parade 29th April 2015, 09:23 PM

Catfish probably will, but surely you could already get the one song anybody actually wants from the Mark Ronson album for 99p?

Great news for Blur smile.gif I must admit I do prefer their older stuff i.e. 'Parklife' and 'The Great Escape' eras - I'd say '13' as well in that list - but it's pleasing to see they can come back 12 years after their last album and still do so well.

Yes, he's at #30, so should make the top 40 on Sunday. No, no sales info.

Also, Clean Bandit are down to #10, wouldn't be surprised if they exited the top 10 on Sunday, with something stream-heavy like 'Sugar' overtaking.

Despite it dropping to #91 on iTunes. If you want to stream music, stream Alesso's new song and boycott any Sam Smith song. It's impossible for OCC to remove streaming from the singles chart but it's not impossible for Sam Smith to remove his music from streaming services

Is he really "in the running" in any sense other than some newspapers have run stories saying that, just like they do about any British singer who has more than two hits?

Also, how are the Zac Brown Band suddenly Top 40 after not being in the Wednesday Top 100? It doesn't seem to have been a mid-week release.
