Glad to see that you're well enough to resume these commentaries again Suedey - I don't comment on them much any more but still always make sure to read them. (thanks to John for taking over the last few weeks as well of course)

Thanks Bre. I've missed doing these over the last few weeks! It's a relief to be in a position to do them again.

ACTS WITH THE No.1 & No.2 SINGLES AT THE SAME TIME Ed Sheeran has become only the 7th Act to have the UK's No.1 Singles, in the same Week. He's also the 1st living UK Solo Act to achieve it. It is only the 22nd Chart in which the No.1 & No.2 Singles have been credited to the same Act. Justin Bieber has done it for 6 Weeks on his own & for 3 Weeks as a 'Featured' Artist. Which means that he's had the UK's No.1 & No.2 Singles - at the same time - for 9 Weeks, out of the 22 Weeks that it has ever been achieved. NOTE As they were not given their own credits on one, or both, of their simultaneous No.1 & No.2 Hits, Im not counting Donny Osmond, W/E 7th September 1974 No.1 The Osmonds Love Me For A Reason & No.2 Donny & Marie Osmond Im Leaving It All Up To You. For the same reason, Im not counting - W/E 15th December 1984 George Michael. He was on the New Entry at No.1 Band Aid Do They Know Its Christmas? & the New Entry at No.2 Wham! - Last Christmas/Everything She Wants 5 consecutive Weeks at No.1 & No.2. Nor am I counting Jason Donovan, who was on the No.1 & No.2 Singles for W/E 6th January 1990 No.1 Do They Know Its Christmas? - Band Aid II & No.2 When You Come Back To Me Jason Donovan. Nor do I count Clean Bandit W/E 29th November 2014 No.1 Band Aid 30 Do They Know Its Christmas? & No.2 Clean Bandit Real Love -- With Jess Glynne. She was not on the Band Aid 30 Single. ***************************************************** 01)... THE BEATLES -- 3 WEEKS -- CONSECUTIVE W/E 14th December to W/E 28th December 1963 I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND (1) SHE LOVES YOU (2) ***************************************************** 02)... THE BEATLES -- 3 WEEKS -- CONSECUTIVE W/E 30th December 1967 to W/E 13th January 1968 HELLO GOODBYE (1) MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR (EP) (2) ***************************************************** 03)... JOHN TRAVOLTA W/E 4th November 1978 SUMMER NIGHTS (1) -- (John Travolta And Olivia Newton John) SANDY (2) ***************************************************** 04)... JOHN LENNON -- 2 WEEKS -- NON-CONSECUTIVE W/E 10th January 1981 IMAGINE (1) HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER) (2) (John & Yoko with The Plastic Ono Band & the Harlem Community Choir) W/E 31st January 1981 IMAGINE (1) WOMAN (2) ***************************************************** 05) FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD -- 2 WEEKS -- CONSECUTIVE W/E 7th July 1984 to W/E 14th July 1984 TWO TRIBES (1) RELAX (2) ***************************************************** 06) MADONNA W/E 17th August 1985 INTO THE GROOVE (1) HOLIDAY (2) ***************************************************** 07)... JUSTIN BIEBER W/E 3rd December 2015 SORRY (1) LOVE YOURSELF (2) JUSTIN BIEBER -- 3 WEEKS -- CONSECUTIVE W/E 10th December 2015 to W/E 24th December 2015 LOVE YOURSELF (1) SORRY (2) JUSTIN BIEBER -- 2 WEEKS -- CONSECUTIVE W/E 7th January 2016 to W/E 14th January 2016 LOVE YOURSELF (1) SORRY (2) ***************************************************** 08)... JUSTIN BIEBER - (AS FEATURED ARTIST) -- 3 WEEKS - CONSECUTIVE W/E 18th August 2016 to W/E 1st September 2016 COLD WATER (MAJOR LAZER FEATURING JUSTIN BIEBER & MO) (1) LET ME LOVE YOU (DJ SNAKE FEATURING JUSTIN BIEBER) (2) *** ***************************************************** 09)... ED SHEERAN W/E 19th January 2017 SHAPE OF YOU (1) *** CASTLE ON THE HILL (2) *** *** = The only times that either were New Entries ***************************************************** NOTE - THE SHADOWS - The Shadows would have managed it for 7 Weeks, in the 1960's. However. The OCC don't count Cliff Richard & The Shadows Hits as also being Shadows Hits. They only count them as Cliff Richard Hits. If The OCC did count Cliff Richard & The Shadows Hits as Shadows Hits, here is how The Shadows would have had the No.1 & No.2 Singles, in the same Week. ***************************************************** A)... THE SHADOWS -- 3 WEEKS -- CONSECUTIVE W/E 20th August 1960 PLEASE DONT TEASE (1) -- (With Cliff Richard) APACHE (2) W/E 27th August 1960 APACHE (1) PLEASE DONT TEASE (2) -- (With Cliff Richard) W/E 3rd September 1960 APACHE (1) PLEASE DONT TEASE (2) -- (With Cliff Richard) ***************************************************** B)...
