BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Miranda Lambert - The Weight Of These Wings

Miranda has just announced her sixth album, her follow up to 2014's Platinum, called The Weight Of These Wings. It's out on 18th November and I couldn't be more hyped! Given it's her first work since she divorced Blake last year, I'm expecting a heartbreak album, hopefullly with a couple of angry songs thrown in *.*

So far we've only heard Vice, the first single, hopefully we get another one before the album!

Definitely a lot of potential for this considering how much she has to write/sing about this time! Platinum really underwhelmed me compared to how much I loved the lead single, so I'm hoping for something more along the lines of Revolution.

The title reminds me of some dank chicken wings.

Fuuuuuuuuuuck me Running Just In Case is one hell of an opener wub.gif She has one of those magical voices that exudes such emotion no matter what she's singing, and in this case she seems to pack all of the emotion of everything she's been through into that one song, which perfectly sets the scene for the rest of the album. This has to be one of her career highlights surely, it's just too much wub.gif

As a whole it's a very good album, it's definitely her most cohesive body of work, although it doesn't slay on a level that Revolution, Four The Record and Platinum did. I think I'll go back The Nerve a lot more than The Heart, The Nerve had a nice bit of variation whereas The Heart blended into one for me until the last 4 or 5 songs laugh.gif The Heart is a nice listen as a whole but it just doesn't have a whole lot of songs worth going back to.

Overall of the whole thing my highlights are Running Just In Case, Vice, Ugly Lights, Highway Vagabond, Bad Boy and Keeper Of The Flame.
