Can we not use the "they were close to being vetoed" argument please. The songs made it past an already harsh (but needed) veto framework Don't mistake it as me trying to attack you guys for entering them. It's hard to separate criticism of the entry from the entrant in this set-up and so I know where you're coming from as I'd probably get really precious if anyone really came for my entry this month. Or most months, even. But especially so this time. It's just me expressing some frustrations that, to take you alone, your entry is an expected new release by the artist behind arguably the biggest 'cult hit' in BJSC last year and, kind of separate but not completely from that, it will inevitably be a storming success and BJSC is all too predictable these days and it's more annoying when the predictable ones ARE the ones that slipped past the veto framework. |

Oh, as I stated earlier, I thought Tone was fine, compared to Hannah, Muna and Gareth Emery - all of which have had their successful notable Buzzjack tracks do well in recorded history as opposed to Tone. Was not aiming that at Ashton, partly because I don't think it's a contender personally but also because it wasn't on my radar for tracks that 'I would have vetoed'. Gareth Emery isn't really comparable to Hannah Diamond or MUNA, he doesn't have as much internet/blog hype that those two do. He had a previous Top 5 BJSC hit (over a year ago I may add) but nothing else in terms of framework points. Also agree that Tone is fine, yes she had some top 5s but that was years ago and the userbase has significantly changed since then. I think her new song will have appeal but if it goes top 5 it won't be because of her name. |

BUT Yehesi are standing in the way with a huge contender in MUNA. Altyr I don't think are *quite* going to give us another PC Music win but it'll certainly be in the shakeup, as will Danaelanda. Beyond that I don't see any realstic winning contenders but so many could go top ten. |

I think Terra Avium might stand a chance to win as well It's a rather spectacular track and I think they'll be in with a shot of going top five, but there always seems to be a glass ceiling for entries like that for some reason, they tend to pick up high points or no points and end up with between 230-300 in total, whereas the big wide appealing pop/more mainstream tracks pick up the high points as well as lots of midtable and small points and end up with the 350+ needed to win. |

Let's not focus on those that may or may not have been borderline (I've not heard of any material from any of them before as it happens) and no-one is forced to vote for any they don't want to, let's focus on those that take a chance...
odds on Singerpurear winning 100/1 Don't care I love it it's fab... Likely contenders from semi 2 (havent heard semi 1), well, Christina & The Queens, I mean Muna, should do well. Paradis will be under-appreciated but I'm hoping there's a buzz about it, Kaneholler too. Fenech-Soler sounds like an obvious do-very-well, Nussy has less of a commercial more edgy feel that might still appeal, there are some others that might do well but don't strike me as instant, and the bulk of the semi seem to be a bit on the "pleasant-but-not-memorable" or "interesting-but-not-in-ya-face-enough", though I am happy to see Reol in there too (sort-of a former Singerpurear act (I think!), so we the nation are saying make sure you check it out more than once ) of course what do I know though.... |

wow at those odds!
I expect my song will be over-predicted though due to Gareth Emery's last entry finishing 4th. In actuality I think it'll be closer to 10th than to 1st, though I'd be happy with anywhere in the top 20. |

Tipping Republic of Adonia to do at least about as well as CRIM3S (I hope anyway) as this month's token witch house entry. Cadelicia I think should do quite well too, although I'll try not to overhype it and see it finish in the 30s like their last two entries
Only heard semi 2 so far but MUNA definitely does sound like a winner, tbh I don't think it's really as cheap an entry as some people are making it out to be though, sure MUNA have some fans but the biggest thing going against them is one previous entry that didn't even make the top 30, unless I've missed some sort of mainstream breakthrough by them? Tone Damli and Hannah Diamond are a bit more questionable. Hooray for more moderately ok odds for myself. Hoping to qualify and won't have any higher expectations after those let me down last month, but I'd be thrilled with that kind of position. x |

Underpredicted as always!! Even as my song spent almost the entire cotest battling for no,1 last month when nobody had predicted it as a contender

I'd be content with at least top 30 this time so those odds are just right
I haven't heard much from semi 1 yet but I think I'd certainly agree with Taahino, surely their first top 10? Oh and Jadakissnia I think could be top 5 too with Bignia 2nd to last in odds This post has been edited by Rob S~: Feb 15 2017, 06:29 PM |

10/1?! Christ, I really don't know what to expect of my song now. I didn't in the first place but in between 10/1, a DNQ prediction and me being completely clueless of how it'd do from the beginning, this will be a fun one
