Chart Commentary

Headhunterz completes a third week at #1 with 'Rescue Me', which becomes the longest running #1 of the year so far as it holds Calvin Harris' 'Giant' at #2 for a third week and Gareth Emery's 'Take Everything' at #3 for a fourth week. Breaking up the top five however is a brand new entry which comes from Khalid. He is not a big chart star here, having only featured on one top 40 hit previously, 'Rollin' with Calvin Harris in 2017 - although it was a huge #1, having passed a million chart sales.

He returns to the chart this week with his own single 'Talk', which enters at #4, but let's... talk about why the song really is here. It was only produced by one of the biggest chart acts in Thermo's hot hitstory, Disclosure - and whilst they receive no official credit, it is my chart and my rules so they get an honorary feature credit, which gives them their 27th top 40 hit, 14th top 10 hit and 10th top five hit. It follows on from their three top five hits of last year, 'Ultimatum' (#1 - their first and only so far), 'Moonlight' (#3) and 'Where Angels Fear To Tread' (#5).

Arty drops a place to complete the top five with 'Save Me Tonight', and completing the top 10 is Lika Morgan who climbs a place with 'In Motion' to claim her second top 10 hit. Her previous was 'Make Your Move', a #2 hit in 2016. Also climbing in the top 20 are Above & Beyond, up to #14 with 'Flying By Candlelight'.

As I said last week the most recent BJSC takes effect in the chart. My entry of course is #1 here for a third week, and the other entries are now eligible. The highest this week comes from Ferdinand Dreyssig & Marvin Hey with the Worakls remix of 'Coeur De La Nuit' which enters at #15. It follows 'Elea' for Worakls, a #31 hit last year following its Club Bizarre appearance and win. The other two have had no previous hits. The one other BJSC entry in the top 40 comes from Elk Road & JES with 'Ghost' which arrives at #40. It is the first hit for either artist.

Following last week's top 40 entries, Axwell climbs to #25 and Gareth Emery is up to #26. There are four new arrivals to the top 40 and the last one to be mentioned comes from EDX. 'Who Cares' climbs to #33 this week, giving him his 13th top 40 hit.

The top 40 remains reasonably stable this week but there is a big clear-out in the bottom half of the chart this week, thanks to a host of BJSC entries, new releases and gainers from the bubblin' under section.

Hot new trance songs come from Late Night Alumni (#44), Darren Porter & RAM (#49), Above & Beyond (#57) and NWYR & Andrew Rayel (#78). BJSC related arrivals come from Icarus (#63), EVA (#64), Nadia Ali (#68), Tommy Trash (#75), Le Boom (#80) and TEPR (#92). R&B and hip-hop are represented by AJ Tracey (#56 and #85), Ariana Grande (#75), Kehlani (#87), Blueface (#98) and Mustard & Migos (#100), and other dance tracks from David Guetta, Brooks & Loote (#50), Steve Angello (#61), Infinity Ink (#76) and Darude (#99) also make the chart.
