Professional trolls San Marino are to announce some surprises at a press conference at Best Western Hotel San Marino on Saturday, currently rumoured to be an announcement of a return for Serhat for 2017. This comes after San Marino posted that the Eurovision fans are desperate for a Serhat return (I like to think this is more trolling rather than actual belief), linking to a Wiwibloggs article. San Marino are currently suing the EBU over Serhat not being allowed to use holograms in Stockholm and in conversations to change their voting method - I think San Marino could be upping their troll-ness more than ever for 2017 but at least their participation is confirmed!

More details at escXtra although SMRTV have confirmed that we won't get the entry on Saturday now.

Who knows what is going on here, I think a San Marino withdrawal and permanent exit from Eurovision is fairly imminent. There have reportedly been some interaction between SMRTV and Emma of Finland national final fame, after Emma recently retweeted a poll from another account which had voters saying "Yes" to her representing San Marino. She also said in a recent interview that it would be an honour for her to represent San Marino.

This only started being rumoured in the past week so don't start battering me with your BJSC rule breaker stick!!!

Then again I doubt Emma has the 300,000 euros needed for San Marino to accept her so while I can imagine SMRTV actually contacting her and the discussion being had, once Emma realises payment would be required she would quickly pull out.

So I imagine the final result will be no-one willing to pay the San Marino participation costs and they pull out to never return for the forseeable! sad.gif

Well, should they pull out then at least they're in the larger semi final so it all evens out.

That said I do like the idea of San Marino being there purely for the desperate NF rejects to get into Eurovision via the back door. Set up the kickstarter for Dinah Nah now!

This is apparently going to be a duet between THE Tony Hadley and Sammarinese singer Monica Hill and is due to be officially announced tonight. It will be a bilingual jazz ballad!

It could be a big joke but it's plausible enough considering it is San Marino...
