Congratulations to Vampire Weekend who finally hit #1 with their comeback single 'Capricorn'. The song serves as the lead single to their upcoming 5th studio album 'Only God Was Above Us' and has been steadily climbing my chart for a few weeks. Their main competition to #1 this week was the infamous track from Future & Metro Boomin's new collaborative album 'WE DON'T TRRUST YOU', 'Like That' with Kendrick Lamar. The song has become quickly recognisable across the world due to Kendrick dissing both Drake and J. Cole on the track sparking a civil war across the world of hip-hop laugh.gif There is also a new peak in the top 10 this week from the 2nd instalment in Bicep's CHROMA series, this time featuring Benjamin Damage.

Hi Nate!

Nice to see "Capricorn" at the top and the debuts for "Like That", "Obsessed", "Two Sweet" and "Time :: Fate :: Karma :: God".

Great chart!
Take care.

Hey Nate!

That's a nice rebound for Von Dutch. I'm actually surprised it managed such a massive climb last week but I again wait for the inevitable drop next week unless it surprisingly clicks with the public.
Not we can't be friends dropping out of your top 10 already *.* This should comfortably be my new #1 next week I think? Could be wrong so don't shoot the messenger laugh.gif
Obsessed is great. I'd say it almost bordering on 1980's punk music. I like it a lot and far more than I initially expected.
Too sweet is great. I've never been a fan of hozier really but I do enjoy this. I was actually intrigued as to why it has went top 10 straight away which is why I listened to it. His discography seems very scarce considering his first hit was way back in 2014.

Hi Nate, very pleased to see 'Capricorn' completing its climb to #1 cheer.gif my favourite from Vampire Weekend in well over a decade! 'Classical' is good too, one of the last few tracks I cut from my 40 for March. Happy to see a few Olivia tracks entering, think I prefer 'obsessed' from the new ones, but 'ballad of a homeschooled girl' is my favourite from the original release, quite a raw vocal delivery in the context of the album but she nails that sound! Nice entry for Hozier too, I imagine that could climb a fair amount?

Hi Sergej!

Great to hear that you're enjoying 'Capricorn' too! The whole Drake x J. Cole diss on 'Like That' was actually pretty unexpected imo, but Kendrick did destroy them with a killer verse (I do feel kinda bad for Cole tho, he seems harmless oop kink.gif). I think 'obsessed' would've been huge had it been released as a single prior to the album, great to have it on streaming anyway. I'll need to get around to listening to the deluxe tracks from 'Dead Club City' other than 'Oh No :: He Said What?' and 'Time :: Fate :: Karma :: God' at some point over the next week(s).

Hi James!

Still loving 'Von dutch' heart.gif Charli debuted a few new songs/alternative mixes of songs from her upcoming album whilst she was DJing in the Boiler Room a few days ago, it's sounding like a properly ravey record from her thus far! Ooh, great that 'we can't be friends' is heading towards #1 for you! Totally agree about the major punk vibes on 'obsessed'. Loving some other great tracks on the deluxe of 'GUTS' as well. The intro to 'Too Much' really reminds me of 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley. I'm loving this career renaissance for Hozier, the material has been really good recently from him too.

Hi Jim!

I would agree with you about 'Capricorn' being Vampire Weekend's best song in a long, long time (if not their best for me heart.gif). Loving the experimental side of the singles to 'Only God Was Above Us', hopefully they aren't misleading us about the standard of the album. I couldn't agree more regarding the comments about 'ballad of a homeschooled girl', definitely one of Olivia's best songs. I'd love to see Olivia live but it seems that her upcoming tour has a lot of (unsurprising) demand. Hopefully there'll be tickets for her next tour... Hozier could quite possibly climb over the next few weeks, we'll have to see!
