Thanks for this Gezza! Interesting in particular to see where the ACR tracks have landed - Blinding Lights #3
This is a great idea! So great in fact that I'm tempted to drum up support to petition for a retrospective version
At least Dance Monkey and SYL aren't top 20 (yet)
Thanks for this! Will compare them against my sans ACR estimates if I get chance.
At this rate Blinding Lights will probably be one of the top 10 'sellers' of 2022.
Wow, Rixton really made a comeback
Thanks for updating this Gezza. What's the deal with weekly YTDs these days - are they strictly only available to Chartsplus subscribers?
I’ve done an ESTIMATED top 40 of the year so far - just using Gezza’s info and my own figures.
I don’t have access to the true top 40. I might well have made a mistake or two adding up / left a song out.

If Blinding Lights does end up at #2 for the year behind Drivers License (highly likely) is that the first time ever a song's been top 2 of the year twice? or even if it's 'only' top 5, is that a first?

Thanks Gezza! Amazing how Levitating has held up. Drivers License still has an enormous lead but doesn’t feel totally unassailable.
Looking at the oldies (5+ years) in the YTD's (thanks to ChartsPlus)...
48 Mr. Brightside - Killers
57 Dreams - Fleetwood Mac
82 Do I Wanna Know? - Arctic Monkeys
84 Wonderwall - Oasis
85 Why'd You Only Call Me When Your High - Arctic Monkeys
93 Riptide - Vance Joy
97 Everywhere - Fleetwood Mac
99 I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) - Whitney Houston
Gezza, do you have any estimates for the above for sales this year?
Is Sweater Weather not in the YTD top 100 then?
93 Riptide - Vance Joy
99 I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) - Whitney Houston
I think I haven't seen those 2 in top 100 this year. wow
Wellerman coming for that BRIT Award next year
(I imagine Don't Play will be locked on for a nom by now as well)
So many oldies doing around 7k per week, with ACR just doing enough to keep most of them out of the weekly Top 100s.
Also I'm guessing Afterglow (Wilkinson) hasn't done enough to get on it yet. Would be pretty funny to see if it made the Year End list considering it just missed the 2013 one.
Thank you for compiling the list, much appreciated!!!
I’ve done an updated estimated Top 40 of the year - anyone with Chartsplus can let me know if I’ve got anything dramatically wrong.
Was hoping everything would be over 200k but not quite! Edit: I’d forgotten about Commitment Issues so in fact everything is over 200k!

Thanks for posting JulianT, it’s looking pretty close for a lot of this list.
I'll do the top 20 for April tonight
Tweaked my Top 40 above following Gezza’s figures and the BPI update. I reckon Masked Wolf is #41 as it’s just gone silver.
So, Levitating went from an average weekly sale (without ACR) of 19,320 during March to 26,725 during April - that's a month-on-month increase of 38%... extraordinary.
Estimated YTD Top 40 update:
DL looking pretty safe at the top but there’s definitely a possibility of Good 4 u or Body reaching #2 in the next few months.

Here’s my first go at the Top 40 for the first 6 months of the year - I’m sure the OCC will provide the accurate version later and Gezza some more accurate sales.
It’s incredibly tight between #3 and #8 and The Business will crash to the bottom of that group very shortly.
Good 4 u will be #2 by next month.

Thanks Gezza! Pretty pleased how close I got overall.
Here’s my estimated YTD Top 40 to the end of July.
I'm now pretty confident that Good 4 U will overtake Drivers License to be the year end #1. Bad Habits could end up with similar numbers to Good 4 U but is unlikely to catch the latter given its head start.

Good 4 U would be a fantastic end of year number 1! Much better than Drivers License
Good 4 U is far superior to Drivers License! Could Save Your Tears overtake the latter as well?
I thought Drivers License was a dead cert for year end #1 so I'm really surprised to see anything challenging it, albeit another song by Olivia. Also wow at The Weeknd, I would never have expected Save Your Tears to be this big but it's so deserved.
I thought I'd share this on the off chance anyone is interested. It's a YTD chart for the Spotify chart, unfortunately it is not a perfect metric as I can only record streaming numbers when songs are in the weekly top 200, so songs that are big at the start of the year but then drop out (eg. positions, Sweet Melody) are at a disadvantage compared to the OCC chart. Whereas songs that hang around forever (eg. Mr. Brightside, Watermelon Sugar) are at an advantage.
Anyway here's the chart to July: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZUupRFxzIGAg-jQ9Wwckuh_KRhT8rtciQ9o7oFR0_14/edit#gid=765794611
Here are the main key points from this month:
good 4 u now #2 and will probably catch drivers license by the end of the year.
Bad Habits straight in at #26.
I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE #41 & Beggin' #55.
Heartbreak Anthem #50. Oliver Twist #98.
Olivia also has 3 album tracks in the top 100 (traitor #45, brutal #96 & happier #99) jealousy, jealousy is #110. Some of these could make the YE top 100 despite not charting officially.
Finally 3 Lions is #145 but won't make the final list.
T100 YE Cut Off: Below positions, T200 YE Cut Off: Below Don't Look Back in Anger
Any questions, feel free to ask
YTD Top 50 Singles from MTV last week - originally aired earlier in August, although these sales appear to be up to mid-July as there's still no Bad Habits, so even Julian's estimated YTD from 2 August above is more up to date, but as an official list, it's slightly more recent than the mid year list (whose top 40 positions are in brackets here):

Depressing how close ‘Bad Habits’ is to both of Olivia’s tracks although if he does get EOY no.1 with a track which only first charted in second half of year that will be impressive feat.
Thanks Jim and Robbie. (Robbie think your SYT sales are total rather than YTD.)

On your top 40 you need to change around numbers 23 and 24, 32 and 33 and numbers 38, 39 and 40 are numbers 39, 40 and 38 respectively.
(YTD charts from UKChartsPlus)
^Thanks! Serious danger of Mr B making the year end Top 40 then!
Cheers for that. Do you have 'Beggin' and 'Didnt Know' as a matter of interest.
Reckon 'Heat Waves' is going to chart higher on the year end chart than any weekly chart.
Updated estimated YTD Top 40 (end of August in brackets):

Mr Brightside still #41?
yes it is (Or was- the above list obviously doesn't include last week's sales)
Looks like Blinding Lights will end the year in the top 10 - it should overtake Friday and Wellerman at least, while I can only see 1 or 2 songs with a realistic chance of overtaking it (and even those still have some way to go).
Has Lil Nas X sold a million yet with MONTERO?
Good to see Wellermand dropping fast - maybe out of top ten even by new year

The expected reversal at the top has happened.
Mr B’s Top 40 position is looking pretty solid. Calling My Phone, Mood and Sweet Melody will likely be facing the chop though.
Love these updates - I'm one of the few here that prefer 'Drivers License' to 'Good 4 U' but it didnt last the distance that I thought it would in January.
Is 'Happier than Ever' in the top 100 or close?
Thanks for the update!
I wonder where "Easy On Me" will end up. I hope it has a chance for top 10. It should get boosts from physical release/TV performance and then the album release in the next few weeks. The album release could give it an insane boost potentially.
I also wonder if any of Adele's older tracks might sneak in the top 100. "Someone Like You"/"Rolling In The Deep"/"When We Were Young" being the most likely.
These may seem like v random questions but are any of these top 100, if you have the necessary data:
Wonderwall
Riptide
Shape of You
Another Love
Sweater Weather
Yellow
Safe to assume something will knock 'Friday' out of the top 10 by the end of the year right? x
I think all of Easy On Me, Shivers and Cold Heart will ultimately fall short of the top 10 as they would need to reach close to 1m by year end, so Adele would need to average 70k a week and the other two would need to average 60k a week across the whole of Nov-Dec - not impossible but a lot to ask.
Dont think anyone expecting any of those 3 records apart from Adele maybe, to be anywhere near the EoY top 10 tbh. Released way too late in the year and sales climate last month pretty poor.
Sure, only really referring to Adele's chances following an earlier comment. I think Blinding Lights will keep its place in the top 10.
By the way last year the bar at the end of the year was 1 million for Top 10, 600k for Top 40 and 400k for Top 100. It looks like it will be slightly lower in all three categories this year despite overall consumption continuing to rise - perhaps further evidence of the changing demographics of the streaming population.
Thank you so much for providing such information as always!!
Other than Own It, are there any other songs for last years Year End top 10 that are still in this years top 100? I noticed that 8 of 2019's YE top 10 carried over to the 2020 YE top 100, and was wondering if this year would see even more?
Thank you very much!
‘Watermelon Sugar’ doing particularly well as a post album single!
I personally not keen on songs from 2019 or before ending on the EoY for 2021 but that's the world we live in with streaming. And of course ACR doesn't apply to EoY charts.
Yeh true it just shows how hits sell or are listened to for years rather than months now!
which makes it all the more annoying that we don’t seem to ever get anything past the top 100 these days when we used to have year end top 200s
Is Araina Grande's 'positions' in the YTD 100? It would be unfortunate as a 6-week #1 to miss out on all EOYs, but I expect it will by now.
True, last years sales at number one on the build up to xmas were quite low.
Maybe if Adele pushes a new single on album release week?
I’ve done a last YTD update showing the change in positions since the end of October. Credit to ChartsPlus for the positions; all sales are my approximate estimates.
Poor Masked Wolf is going to drop out of the Top 40 and be replaced by “Perfect”.

I'm guessing Easy On Me would be in the top 10 by now? (end of November)
This update covers everything up to the 3 December chart. I think EOM will finish around #11.
Thanks for this Jules - half the EOY top 10 wouldn't have made no.1 (in 2021 that is, obvs 'Blinding Lights' had previously made no.1)
Heat Waves to finish 8th then *.* there's actually decent representation from songs which peaked from May onwards in that top 10 compared to recent years. Further down it looks like 3 songs will make the EOY top 40 for a 3rd time, plus newcomer Mr Brightside
