Was hoping this would be an album announcement when I clicked the thread, but I'm definitely excited to be getting another track from her. The three songs released so far are perfection.

Excited for this, I don't get excited for too many releases these days. "Overtime" and "Adore You" were real 10/10s though "Mirage (Don't Stop)" never ended up really exciting me, though I still enjoy it somewhat. Think it'll be better in an album context.
I also hope all 4 of these songs will be part of an album!! It has been an incredible start so far! |

I know this thread is about the single and I'm hyped and all because the previous three have all been incredible but that interview is SO interesting. I find it weirdly fascinating when an artist is candid about their actual success (like when Marina revealed herself to be a millionaire) and honestly reflecting on their previous eras without having to express that they hated a certain record. I've listened to her podcast from the start so you get some insights from there and I remember her speaking about taking her baby on tour and then talking about touring America too. It's sad that she lost money on it and that she felt she could have quit music.
It's also fascinating that the podcast is making so much money. I know every man and his dog has a podcast but I'm always really intrigued in how they make money. I mean I know they have adverts but it seems the adverts cost more than I initially thought, although I guess they will do now the podcast is so successful. Also interesting that execs are approaching her to have their clients on the podcast when, in the early stages, Jessie would be talking about begging people to come on it! I dunno, I just love reading stuff like this, especially in relation to an artist I love that isn't perhaps a roaring chart success. |

Yeh I love her more urban and dance singles so hopefully the album will be more of the same after her last era was the opposite. Hope when the singles released the album will be added to preorder. |

It’s disco-infused - it’ll be in a similar vein as her previous three singles but probs more oriented to a mainstream audience as it’s going to be given the push that those three didn’t get.

Immediate thought was that the title is a reference to Kool and the Gang. So excited for this album!
That Diana Ross / Andy Warhol homage too! |

I am beyond unpleasured by the exclusion of "Overtime", the best upbeat song of her career to date! Looking forward to this nevertheless.

Maybe it just wouldn't fit in there even if it is upbeat.
She looks stunning on the cover. |

Overtime was mentioned as being a standalone at the time of its release

Overtime was mentioned as being a standalone at the time of its release I assumed that was more to the fact there wasn't an album formed at that point, like it was in its early stages and 'Overtime' was ready. The three singles released all compliment each other well so I don't buy 'Overtime' not fitting the sound of the finished album. |

Jessie really can do no wrong this era. She has the catchiest beats, I love when it kicks in with the first verse. The strings, the melody of the chorus, the licks of disco - it's really beautiful and sensual yet makes you want to bop at the same time. I love how the production gradually builds, you don't even notice it creeping up then suddenly you realise the intensity. |

This is utterly smooth and sublime, 80s and 90s disco mixed into one.
I honestly can't wait for the new album! Edit: the last bit of the video is a traditional Serbian wedding. This post has been edited by Red Blooded Man: 28th February 2020, 02:50 PM |

I am beyond unpleasured by the exclusion of "Overtime", the best upbeat song of her career to date! Looking forward to this nevertheless. It's a shame, but I'm not surprised. There was such a huge gap between that and 'Adore You' that it felt completely seperate from the rest of the era. |
