The most highly anticipated new series starts on Channel 5 Mondays 9pm, so looking forward to this, the trailers for this have been fantastic with its dark edge drama. Dilemma night since The Walking Dead new series starts on FOX the same evening. |

Great opening episode with only a few minor quibbles. i.e. Since when is Selina Kyle EVER older than Bruce Wayne. Just seems wrong. Not quite sure why they needed to change Pamela Isley's name to Ivy Pepper. How is that an improvement?
Donal Logue and Jada Pinkett-Smith were both fab and Cobblepot and Nygma were wonderfuly brilliant too. I'm hoping they won't spoil it by giving The Joker a name and I also hope they can keep this up without the Bat in there too. |

Excellent episode, for me Oswald Cobblepot stole whole episode. Robert Lord Taylor is just fabulous as The Penguin, all the mannerisms are all there, you just couldn't ask anyone else to fit that role. Hopefully other characters will get fleshed out across the season.
The idea of having mobile phones was a bit confusing if the series was set before Batman, but who cares over a minor thing, still the best new series I have seen so far. |

I believe it's not intended to be related to any previous Batman stories, so they just started it set in modern day Gotham |

I hate to say it but Jada Pinkett Smith is ruining this for me a little...

Watched an ep and a half of this and gave up, a lot of the main characters in Batman are so young in it it is going to take forever to get to the good stuff.

It's definitely worth continuing with it. The interest lies not in seeing Batman face of against the villains but seeing the early lives of those villains like Penguin, Black Mask, Ivy et al andhow and why they become the characters we know and love. Gordon is the constant so he's not the area of interest, he doesn't really change but Falcone and Maroni run the show at the start. Watching Penguin and the others grow to power is the fun.

The first episode of Season 2 has leaked.
It looks like they've learned a few lessons from season 1's mistakes and the focus is much more on the villains. It feels much less like a cop show set in Gotham. |

And after this weeks episode anyone who gave up on it really needs to give it another look. Episode 2 is an tour-de-force in how to play The Joker.
A stunning episode |
