Just noticed this doesn't have a thread! Seeing as it's looking very likely to make its top 10 debut in the UK this week, it seems like a good time for one to be made. Shawn Mendes' third single Stitches has become a huge worldwide smash, peaking at #4 in the US and #12 so far in the UK, his highest position as a lead artist.

The song was a bit of a slow-burner for me but I truly love it now and it's my favourite song of his by far (although Oh Cecilia trumps it).

It's nice but it just meanders along through the whole song for me, there's no moment and his vocal tone or the song production aren't unique enough to make the song interesting. I am a big fan of I Know What You Did Last Summer, with Camila's vocal tone providing the interesting moment in that song and it's a bit more uptempo and has a climactic moment in the middle 8 into the final chorus. I hope that becomes a hit as it is the much better song for me!

Camilla is auto-tuned to death in IKWYDLS... Mind you, she is the weakest vocalist of that group (well I find her voice annoying, I'm sure others adore her).

'Stitches' is a tune! I can't believe I put off listening to it for so long and I am in awe of his album!

Stitches is a big song. It's looking like a possibly long running top 5 hit now. I just hope the inevitable overplay doesn't kill this for me.

I like IKWYDLS but this is so much better. The chorus is incredibly catchy and there's light and shade between the verses and chorus. I definitely don't think it just meanders along, especially with that middle 8 wub.gif

This took a bit of growing for me too, prefer "Life Of The Party" but I absolutely love this now and would probably rank "Something Big" on a similar level.

(Oh Cecilia)
1. Stitches
2. Something Big
3. Life of the Party
4. I Know What You Did Last Summer

All are really good though, would love A Little Too Much or Kid In Love to smash later in the year too wub.gif

I don't really like this, it's ok and could sound better but I preferred Something Big.

I love this remix of it though:

Late to the party (as always) but I really like this!

I enjoyed what I heard of his Live Lounge cover of Here today as well.
