Not sure what's happening here, I thought Oblivion was the new single and that's yet to pick up radio support or anything? Ah well, I'm excited for this. Hope it lives up to the previous era and its singles! This post has been edited by jsilv: Aug 14 2014, 11:59 AM |

it might actually be stylized as 'bad_news' as this tweet (and single cover) suggest?

Better not be stylised like that. Anyway, REALLY looking forward to this and interested if they develop/change their sound.

Arriving in 10 minutes on R1 if anyone interested is awake, I'm really excited. Wonder if they've taken a new direction too.

Oh I'll listen too I think. Turned out to be very impressed by their first era and I've been wondering when their newer stuff would drop by so yes, much excitement!

Actually, scratch that. A relatively HQ SoundCloud rip:

Thanks for that Math, I was searching but couldn't find one. I really like it, quite different but still lovely. Some of the beats are great too

I appreciate that they've tried to take a different direction, but this is boring and plodding.

There's not a lot to it. What a shame, as with a killer lead single they really could have had an absolutely gigantic era but I'm not sure that this will pave the way to that.

This seems so strange. With this apparently being the B-Side to Oblivion when it could just do okay as a new track even if it isn't their next era... I'm not sure what they have planned, perhaps a proper lead single towards the end of the year?
This isn't lead single material even if it's a decent Bastille song. |

I don't understand why they're pushing ahead with this (Oblivion) release anyway as, by the sounds of it, they're planning on starting the second campaign later this year. Surely they would want a little break away from radio support befkre returning with a bang.

Ooh, I really like this on first listen definitely doesn't sound like a chart hit at all though (which I guess would make it all the better if it does smash). I assume it's not a lead single though and more just something to keep their name out there? But then why are they bothering to re-release Oblivion and continuing to milk Bad Blood when it's pretty much futile at this point as that era is all but finished? This all seems a bit messy, but I'm gonna assume they've got something bigger to come.

That makes it even more confusing as I don't get why they're putting a new track as a b-side, especially to one that's really old in the first place? They've said themselves though that they have 'something else coming' this year before the album next year, so I won't look at this as a comeback.

It's rather simple why they're doing this. Having a new track as the B-Side to 'Oblivion' will encourage fans to download the new song or the EP, so it should get a better chart position than the re-release of 'Bad Blood'. It's basically milking the album and fulfilling the thirst for the fans who want new music at the same time, hence all the fuss about a new song as the B Side.
I think I would prefer another one of his mashup covers to be released instead of 'Oblivion' to be honest. |
