She is excellent and this is another good one. Black Dog is absolutely stunning, delighted it's got so much attention for her
Been revisiting and discovering some of her older stuff too; Eugene, Cola and Sangria (her feature on Easy Life's EP) are my favourites. |

Obsessed with this! She's really talented from what I've heard so far, Eugene is another particular favourite.
I need to check out some of her earlier work whilst I'm awaiting the release of the album! |

Listened to this earlier and really enjoyed it, very consistent and more varied than I'd anticipated. Will definitely be returning to this a few times this week as I'm expecting it to grow further with a few plays.

Pitchfork review, like many of the reviews I've read about the aLBUM, they find it nice but a bit same-y...

I'm still enjoying it. I still don't think it's as samey as people make out but I do like the laid back singer songwriter stuff in general so I'm probably biased. It's one of those albums that you can put on and relax to yet also take the time to follow the lyrics if you want something deeper.

I've listened to this three times now and will definitely keep going back to it a lot. It's great throughout and I love Too Good most out of the songs not released as singles previously. I was more hoping it'd be good rather than expecting as I'd generally liked the singles less each time

It's a decent debut - I very much enjoyed it, I'd probably say “Black Dog” and “Caroline” are my favourites, and they were of course the two big singles - but I enjoy the instrumentation/arrangements throughout the record and from the non-singles I'd say that “Too Good” was the best. I'm surprised that “Cola” wasn't included in the end - that was the first track that I heard of hers and I briefly charted it in early 2019.
I see that the lazy predictable criticism from Pitchfork has struck again, well they stopped being relevant before Arlo Parks was even born. |
