DS like to exaggerate don't they? "fans' minds are blown" ...um The central focus this week should be the knife crime...but its been turned into a story nobody cares about involving Alfie f'n Moon This post has been edited by Jαsє: 24th May 2018, 07:31 PM |

I’m really enjoying this week. Not even bothered Alfie is back-sort Of glad he is, given it was inevitably happening. I assume tomorrow will be Carmel’s big episode.

Some of the nonchalant reactions to Keegan and Shakil getting stabbed were hilarious , people were behaving as if they're living in San Andreas or Vice City in a Grand Theft Auto video game where stabbings occur frequently
Kathy: What's all that carrying on out there? Masood: Keegan got stabbed Kathy: Oh poor little sod (before proceeding to talk about Masood being business partners with Ian) Jean: Who'd do that? a lovely boy like that, you should see his back, you should see what they've done to him Hayley: *Hugs Jean* It's ok Jean: Don't want to get tears down your top. You look nice by the way Hayley: Thanks! Kat's gonna do my hair for me as well |

I was expecting Alfie back before long, my housemate also said "I bet it's Alfie" as Hayley went It was the way it's done more than anything, they've got the best storyline in ages that's so gritty and real and they use the duff duffs for.... that as if it's the most important shocking thing ever.

THAT MASOOD Oh. No. Poor. Libby moment though!!
Oh. Yeah. He's. Been. Stabbed. Anyway, is Ian in?? The BBC fawning over the royals was too Establishment propaganda |

Great powerful performance from Carmel, it was a bit of a tear jerker for me, I'm guessing her other son will be making an appearance soon since we have been introduced to the father.
The Alfie bits I did not care about.. |

Such a great performance from Bonnie there, it was difficult to watch when they went in to see Shakil's body. Good to see they've finally brought Umar in as a character, hopefully he sticks around and maybe we'll get Darius too seeing as I can't imagine Kush will be going to Dubai now.

Bonnie Langford is a f***ing star, incredible performance.
I agree about the Alfie stuff though, they could have at least have left it to next week as it just felt like John Yorke loves the Slaters so much he couldn't have an episode without them |

When I first saw Bonnie Langford in Doctor Who, I wouldn’t have believed her capable of a performance like this. Absolutely amazing.

Bonnie really was the standout of this week. It's just a shame we had to put up with scenes of Alfie in between. I think they should've just focused solely on the stabbing today. There was no need for the extra stuff.

Mick has had way too many scenes though.
And I have to cackle at the fact Sharon only just feels unsafe in Walford now. Truly was a dream place to live when her own husband died after being stabbed, her fiancé died in a fire, her father was murdered twice, her husband shot on their wedding day, she was attacked in her own bar, her friends’ daughter was murdered and dumped on a Common and Brannings fall off the roof every other year. Yep, definition of safe. |

It's funny how after less than a week Shakil's friends have suddenly perked up enough to play games of spin the bottle using the excuse "It's what Shakil would have wanted". Judging by next week's TV guide it looks like Shakil's death is going to be majorly swept under the carpet compared to this week.
This storyline of him and Keegan getting shanked is literally the only reason I've tuned back in to EastEnders. I couldn't care less about Hayley and who got her pregnant or Stacey's next boyfriend is going to be. |

I was not happy to see Alfie back, if it was a one off appearance it wouldn't be so bad but we know the inevitable. Kat is a joy without him.

The good episodes may have just come at the right time and might help them pick up a few extra votes for the Soap Awards in the categories voted for by the public.
That said, i do think they wont pick up many awards at all and it could be Coronation Streets year. |
