I've only just seen this. Oh god, it was fantastic and I didn't expect to like it.
Never Enough is genuinely one of the best songs I've ever seen featured in a movie. Hugh Jackman's look of pure awe, with the tears in his eyes, with his wife watching him, realising nothing will ever be enough from now on, absolutely broke my heart. That scene is astonishing. Why that wasn't nominated for the Oscar I'll never know. This Is Me is fantastic, but Never Enough is the one. That vocal from Loren leaves me scalped every time I listen to it. |
