Okay so I've seen all of season six and I'm in love with so many of the queens from it, especially Adore and Bianca so naturally I then tried All Stars 2 but kinda gave up after Adore walked but I do fully intend on going back to it because I love Alaska and Katya... I've been addicted to watching random YouTube videos of various queens for the past few weeks so I'm pretty familiar with a lot of them even though I've not seen most of the seasons but Trixie is already a fave and so is Dela which brings me HERE. I've just watched the first three episodes and I'll probably spend tomorrow watching the rest of the season so I'm caught up and ready to follow season 10. It's so hard to avoid spoilers, like I already know who wins, the whole controversy around that and also what happens with Dela but at this point I honestly would still peg Trixie as the most worthy winner? She's got everything you could ever want imo *.* I am loving Shangela too and I can already understand why she'd be the favourite but idk she just doesn't have the unique edge or the stand out personality Trixie has but bare in mind I was fully aware of who Trixie was before watching All Stars (despite not seeing her season) whereas this is the first I've seen of Shangela outside of Hurricane Bianca so maybe my opinion will change by the time I get to the finale idk I think Chad and Alaska have kinda paved the way for the slightly more "out there" queens to be crowned the winner of All Stars and that should be what defines the difference between that and just a the next drag superstar tbh, so to me it makes sense that Trixie got it. Of course there is a right way and a wrong way to be weird and I think the likes of Milk or Thorgy nailed the latter :')

Chad isn’t a very ‘out there’ winner at all. His drag is very very traditional. Raja was the first ever ‘out there’ queen to win in season 3, and Ru has been awarding a mix of traditional and non traditional drag ever since.

Chad was a safer winner than Sharon for season 4 for sure! I feel like they maybe didn't want to crown a winner who was too "out there" too often, Chad kind of broke up slightly more out there winners by being a much more traditional one in between but I don't know why they felt the need to fix it quite so much for him to win

interesting how jinkx was the first queen whose performance was her best thing as opposed to fashion/runway
bebe - runway tyra - runway raja - runway (conceptual) sharon - runway (conceptual) chad - runway jinkx - performance bianca - performance violet - runway (conceptual) bob - performance alaska - performance sasha - runway (conceptual) trixie - OH HONEY EVERYTHING. HOOONEEEEYYYYY. HOOOOOOOOONEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYY sasha was really tough to call but her runways and lipsyncs come to mind first~ |

Oh right See I've not seen Chad's season yet and have only really seen bits and pieces of her when she's popped up in other things, my initial impression was that she was quite quirky but I guess she is sort of a Cher impersonator and that's where the traditional part is coming from idk? I am still only just scratching the surface with becoming a fan of drag so I still don't know much about it other than what I've seen on drag race but I am aware there is a whole culture and history behind it ofc as it is essentially a type of peeformance art so sorry if I get things wrong when I post in here :') |

I guess you have to be somewhat quirky to do well on drag race no matter how traditional your roots are. |
