Exciting! It’s a shame he doesn’t get much recognition in the UK after Riptide sad.gif Lay It On Me was a great song and a personal fav of his for me wub.gif Haven’t given much listen to the others, but I also didn’t realise he’d released a third single from the new album so I’ll check it out soon!

Totally agreed. The first album had a number of fantastic singles on it as well as album tracks - i.e. "Mess Is Mine", "Fire And The Flood", "Georgia", "First Time", "Winds Of Change", "All I Ever Wanted". I did find the album too long and would cut a few of my least favourites, but that turned it into a corker of an album.

It looks as though "Like Gold" was a promo single as there is no video but still worth a listen. Good new single too. Loved "Lay It On Me" - very strong single!

Saturday Sun out wub.gif I like it but Lay It On Me remains a clear highlight so far

Posted by: Midge 2nd February 2018, 09:26 AM

I'm glad someone else cares laugh.gif Really liking the new track though as you say "Lay It On Me" is the highlight so far. All the new tracks are 7/10 plus for me which is a good sign.

The new single "We're Going Home" is really growing on me as well!

i like him too, riptide is such a classic
the newies are nice enough but lack a bit of oomph to take it to the next level

was talking about him with a friend yesterday and afte 2 hours we realised I was talking about Vance Joy while my friend was talking about Foy Vance ohmy.gif the names are really too similar wink.gif

This is out NOW! I only remembered this evening after having looked forward to it for AGES! Onto track 4 so far. I'd already heard tracks 1-4 (and 7) so the proof is in the remainder of the album...

Well on first listen, the songs I'd heard aside, all the tracks are merging into one for me... it'll need more listens.

Haven't heard the album yet, although I have to say I'm not expecting much more than this tongue.gif I liked his last album but 100% the singles were way better than any album tracks, I assume the same will be this time around too (Lay It On Me > Riptide kink.gif)

Haha you're right to be fair, I did pick out a couple of album tracks from album 1 though that were excellent ("Winds Of Change", was "All I Ever Wanted" a single in the end?) on top of the singles which were ALL excellent, the rest was kind of filler. This album is similar. The 5 tracks we've heard already are the best plus "Take Your Time". I notice "We're Going Home" is up to 4 on Australian iTunes! Is he all over the radio there??? I'll find out in a week's time!

Oh and "Riptide" is his best you wally. One of the best songs of the CENTURY wub.gif

I rarely listen to Australian radio anymore so I have no idea laugh.gif

Riptide is amazing I don't doubt that, but LIOM edges it for me tongue.gif Riptide was on the radio practically non-stop here though so overexposure plays a big part in me prefering LTOM laugh.gif

It does feel like all the best songs were out there already, but I've put a big chunk of the newies onto my playlist so they could grow! One of These Days is my favourite on first listen wub.gif

Yeah same, the more I hear it, the more the 'new' tracks grow on me. There's not one I'm skipping.

Single Edit released for I’m With You! A great choice for the next single I think

Definitely a good choice, one of my favourites from the album! Funny as I was only last week thinking, "when are we getting an announcement of a new Vance Joy single?" and here it is!
