Angelic is my favourite here, I used to love that a lot, really soaring chorus.

Girls Like Us is a garage classic, there seemed to be 1 or 2 coming out each week in 2000 but Lady G (what did G stand for, Gaga!!?) made this one stand out.

When A Woman was never off the radio in 2000/1, I'm sure I heard it just as much as Rise and Out Of Reach. Clearly it was a hit off the back of Rise and wouldn't have been half as big if it had come out before Rise, but fair enough, it's a nice little song.

Yes, the Whitney and George track was a shock flop, it had all the makings of a No.1, and I'm still not entirely sure how their combined fanbases and a pretty good song could only get to No.9. Even the follow-up Enrique collab did better.

I didn't mind Coming Around, I often forget about it as it wasn't attached to any studio album. I agree all of The Man Who singles are better, but I do remember the memorable egg video.

Didn't like Ugly at all, I agree it's an obnoxious song and I remember it being happily picked up by playground bullies at the time. What was the need for it? It's just lyrically unpleasant, albeit catchy.

Richard Blackwood's musical career was a short-lived curiosity but this was catchy thanks to the sample.

And as for Nicki French - I've seen that song performed live more times than I see my own family, as she pops up at almost every Eurovision event to trot it out. But it's naff as they come, complete with the ticking clock hands dance routine, and I can't say 16th place was undeserved. It's a bit Steps-lite, but like an early Steps album track, as the real thing had moved onto the likes of Deeper Shade of Blue by this point. Imagine that as our 2000 Eurovision entry *.* (I know we have a kind of melodic rehash of it from Olly Alexander this year though).

His stint on Celebrity Detox Camp is probably more memorable: kink.gif
