 The R&B chanteuse unwrapped new single ‘I Bet’ and less than 24-hours later has followed through with the title of her hotly anticipated sixth studio album. Find out what the follow-up to 2013’s self-titled has been christened below… Per a new press release touring the star’s comeback, it has been confirmed that the project is titled… ‘Jackie’ Interestingly, the name is that of Ci’s mother Jackie Harris. When I saw this was the title of her album, I could only think of this:
 But such a nice meaning as to why she named it 'Jackie' though and not just because it's her mums name!

Okay, so this certainly hasn't disappointed AT ALL on first listen. I always loved Ciara but apart from self-titled I could never really get on board fully with any of her albums. Although this is not perfect, it is an incredibly solid record and there really is no bad tracks at all. It is actually much more pop (apart from the fab urban title track) than I was expecting, but I think it works perfectly. It really does remind me of the way in which her idol Janet was able to merge the two genre sounds so perfectly. The run of 'Give Me Love' to 'One Woman Army' is just brilliant and there are a few other gems scattered throughout the record too. I can tell this is going to be an album that I am going to have many repeated listens of, and I am sure some of the other tracks will grow even more. So glad she came through like this. Here is my track by track rate based on one listen:

They should seriously reconsider releasing That's How I'm Feelin' as a single. |
